Nestled in what is referred to as «the quiet corner of Connecticut» is An Innkeeper’s Place, located in quaint Stafford Springs. My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay in this lovely home and look forward to a return trip. Danele and her husband, Chris, were wonderful hosts. It’s the first time we stayed in a B&B where young children live and it definitely was not a problem. Their ages were 8, 7, and 4 and they were delightful, never interfering in our R&R. We saw them when we were in the sitting room where the eldest daughter came and took our breakfast order and later announced that«breakfast was served.» Breakfasts were wonderful and included a delicious frittata made with locally grown vegetables on the first morning of our stay, and light & fluffy pancakes studded with apples & strawberries on the second morning. This recipe was one that their daughter created. We also were«taste testers» for a delicious autumn fruit soup that Danele wanted to try and made with locally grown apples. Danele gave us a tour of their home, tastefully done with antiques and also the history of the home in days gone by. Don’t hesitate to stay here(we loved the claw foot tub in our bathroom) and also don’t miss dining at Basil’s Restaurant. The food and waitstaff there is excellent.
