Not worth it unless all you want is a stiff drink … Guacamole is not fresh. People are nice at least

Very disappointed. Atmosphere was quaint but narrow. Service was accommodating but abrupt. Even the menu said«absolutely no substitutions». My husband’s meal was adequate but not delicious. Pulled pork bbq and fries. I had the seafood plank. Wasn’t sure what to expect but what I got was a flavorless mass of dull, soft food. Sides were horrible — fried corn was old and tough. Slaw was nothing more than shredded cabbage with zero dressing. Margaritas were serviceable — but I could tell they were from a mix. The only bright spot was the fried green tomato appetizer. Light, delicious breading. But not good enough to ever go back there.

Stop. Playing. Jazz. The food and view are amazing but god that JAZZ just ruins the whole thing.

Food came out quick and was tasty. I got the soft shell po boy. The service was HORRIBLE!!! Probably the worst I have had. We had to get up as ask for more drinks. We had to ask for our bill. Was a horrible experience. The«home made salsa» was at best bad. I would not come back. Also the water was straight from the tap.

I dined here on 7÷8÷15 with several friends. The menu covers a lot of genres, with the focus on seafood. I’m a shrimp and grits fan, and will try it whenever it’s on a menu(hint: the best is at Slightly North of Broad Street in Charleston, SC). Their version uses red-eye gravy, which was a surprise to me. The portion was more than adequate, and it came with two sides. I asked the server to bring homemade chips, and to surprise me. She added creamed spinach, which went great with the chips. I can’t give a top prize to BW for the entrée, but it was tasty. The service was outstanding. Savannah, our server, was attentive, yet let the table have its space. She brought in the extra star for a 4 out of 5.

Great beach style décor. Happy hour equals amazing pours on booze. They are more than generous!!! Soft shells crab was amazing. Service was okay, don’t expect 5 star service. Hostess was not helpful at all, was watching TV and seemed not interested in helping customers. :/

I feel bad bc it wasn’t the waitress fault but we waiting an hour food never came and didn’t even update and it’s not like gave An appetizer or anything to compensate them when we said I’m leaving they didn’t just let us leave and didn’t even comp a drink. It’s 9:30 and I still haven’t eaten.

Nice location in St. Simons with a pretty view of the pier. The food was ok, but overall just okay for the price. We tried the spinach dip which was ok, but kind of like defrosted previously frozen spinach with some Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. The fried green tomatoes were a better choice and were very enjoyable. I had the blackened fish sandwich which also featured a fried green tomato on top and was really good served on a delicious roll. Not the best I had but worth getting again.

Great view with a good«happy hour» and good food. Wait staff seems to be clueless as our appetizer came after our meal had arrived. One in our party had a hamburger and fries which came without any mustard mayo or ketchup. Could not find our waitress until it was time to pay the tab. When we did get the check we found a $ 20 discrepancy between the check and what was to be charged on our card. Our waitress was apologetic and nice but it was apparent she was new and inexperienced.

Eh. Seems to have a lot of promise that’s not being fulfilled. We went on a quiet rainy night. They charge the same price for virgin and alcohol drinks which is a rip off. They also have tv’s but the unfriendly bartender said they don’t turn on the sound. The music they had gOing when we were there was definitely geared towards a 50 plus crowd. Servers were nice enough. Food was fine but nothing special at all. Typical island /bar type fare.

Simply exceptional blackened fish sammich. After a deplorable experience at Gnat’s I told Jessica(who was an exceptional waitress btw) about my concern of ordering a fish sammich again. She said ‘Trust me, you want ours’. I put my faith in Jess’s recommendation and my my my am I glad that I did. The ciabatta bread was obviously freshly prepared, the fried green tomato was an excellent addition, the fish could not have been prepared any better and the very light amount of horseradish left a clean finish on the palette. The entrée is exceptional, well balanced and perfectly priced. You have my personal recommendation!

Still the best view on at Simons, still excellent service but sad to see our favorite server Blane not here! Hopefully he reads these posts because we don’t know how to let him know we miss him!

I have tried so hard to like this place! It’s the only spot with a great view in the Village. The pro is that they have a FANTASTIC homemade sangria. The cons far outweigh the positives! No draft beer, the absolute strangest menu I have ever seen, the owner is always so rude! And they can’t seem to keep regular staff because the 3 times we have been our servers have been brand new and had no clue or answer to any questions we had! I have never eaten at a place where you can order country fried steak, enchiladas, a meatball sandwich, and she-crab soup… all from the same menu. This place needs to be redone! I don’t think it will last with all of the fantastic dining options in the village. my advice: Go to Palmers! Waiting for a table is SOWORTHIT instead of trying this(always empty) spot.

Very pleased with my experience here. The waiter was extremely attentive, offered excellent recommendations, and provided great service. The view on the rooftop could not be beat. We received a very generous pour for our drinks and the portions were more than enough to fill you up. The salmon was fresh and delicious and we really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and brie appetizers.

Today it rained all day so I was looking for a place that offered college football and a selection of tasty beers. So, let’s talk about the real good, the good and the not quite ugly. The roof bar was fine and the TVs were plenty, the bartenders were quick and super friendly, butttttt all the beers were bottled. Ugh! Guess I’m spoiled but I like a place w an ecliptic selection of draft beers. However, the appetizers were good, GA won and all was well that ended well.

Blue Water has one of the nicest locations in the Village with one of the best views of the pier. They are located at the end of the shopping/dining row of the Village with windows that overlook the beautiful St. Simons Island Pier and the Atlantic ocean. With that said they could be so much more than they are. When you walk in you are greeted by a hostess that tells you to go upstairs and sit wherever you like; what’s the point of having a hostess when you can have a sign telling your diners the same thing. Once upstairs and seated we were greeted by a nice server who brought us menus and took our drink orders. They have a full bar; but get this, they don’t have any beers on draft. A bar this big should carry at least 5 beers on draft. At least they do have a nice selection of bottled beers that they serve with ice cold mugs. The menu itself is way too big; so big it is confusing. It has a little bit of everything; seafood, sandwiches, home cooking, and even a Mexican food section. It’s like the owners have some sort of identity crisis; they would probably be better off sticking to one type of food and providing a less complicated menu. It took a good while to look over the menu to decide what to order. When we ordered we started off with the chips and queso; which the cheese was just right, but the chips were the nasty tri-colored chips. For dinner I had the crispy fish with a side of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes with gravy. The fish was ok; but not that«crispy». The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were both bland sides. And a dry cornbread muffin also came with the dinner. The service was great though; we had one of the nicest servers and the other servers that interacted with our table were also great. I’d go back again to have a beer and enjoy the village and pier/ocean view over a couple of cold ones, but I think there are better places to eat.

We love Blue Water. The food is always awesome, the happy hour is just as good. Staff is the best in the business around these parts. They always greet you with a friendly smile and hello, and the owner remembers our name even if we haven’t been able to make there in six months or longer. Great food, great drinks, and great Southern hospitality!

Roaming around downtown St. Simons looking for a bar, one of the guys in our group recommended Blue Water. We’d just been to Brogen’s the night before, so we wanted to go somewhere different. On a Saturday night, you’d think the scene would be hopping, but it was the opposite. The entire ground level of the restaurant was closed and the upper level was sparse with customers. Where was everybody? Brogen’s? Rafters? To be fair, Blue Water seemed more like a restaurant than a bar. It’s certainly a lot nicer than the aforementioned bars. Blue Water’s bar is located on the second level and it’s long and lined with plenty of TVs. Outside out back, there’s a rooftop patio, which is cool, except no one was out there. The manager, bartender, and servers were friendly and accommodating to our group. Our group was so big, there weren’t enough seats at the bar for all of us, so we split up between the bar and some of the smaller dining tables. I almost felt like we were disturbing some of the quiet dinner dates some couples were on when we rolled in. Fortunately, we were a pretty tame and mature group. I enjoyed my time here, though if you’re looking for a true bar atmosphere(like we were), you should head elsewhere.
