In October, we lost our beloved Mother, after a long, courageous battle, to cancer. Our Mother’s wishes were to be cremated, and brought to Florida to be with her Mother. I began to plan this process from my home in Boston. My fear was that I’d be planning this blindly, being that I was so far away. Not to mention the fact that the profound sadness I felt as a result of her loss, was crippling. I was in no way, shape or form, able to handle this responsibility, but didn’t have a choice. It had to be done. I flew to Florida and briefly met a woman named Kathy Stutts. Little did I know, she would be my backbone during this process. I could not have done this without her. Kathy has a profound amount of empathy, kindness, patience and knowledge. She has a way about her which is very comforting. Kathy always knew just the right thing to say. Kathy made a very difficult process, manageable. She went far and beyond what most would do. Always looking for ways to make it easier for me. Her hard work showed in everything she did. I simply cannot say enough about her. My gratitude and appreciation for her runs deep. I can only hope that if someone were in a position where they’ve lost a loved one, they have someone as special and remarkable as Kathy. Thank you my friend, I couldn’t have done this without you.
