Wok N Roll

Sadly, my Christmas Day dinner plans fell apart, so I decided to get Chinese take out.
My favorite place had a 90 minute wait, so I decided to try Wok N Roll again, since it was open and nearby.
Things have definitely improved here.
I had the Singapore noodles and an order of crab rangoon. Both were excellent!
The noodles had a surprising amount of decent chicken, pork, and shrimp… and no more «stale oil» taste with the rangoon.
So I will give them one more star for improving.
My apologies, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to give higher than 3 stars for Americanized Chinese «strip mall» take out.
However, if you really enjoy this sort of fare, WnR is worth a try!

My boyfriend and I live near this place and eat here often. I always get the beef and broccoli and it’s awesome! My boyfriend gets the general tso and he loves it. The staff is friendly and fast with your orders. Sometimes we call ahead and then pick it up in about ten minutes when it’s ready.

Ordered sesame chicken and general tso’s chicken for delivery. Delivery was very fast, breading on chicken was very hard, hubby threw up after eating general tso chicken..

Super close to my house so there’s a convenience factor built into my rating. I’ve tried a lot of their selections and the best choice is beef and broccoli because it’s not deep fried. The wonton soup is good as are the crab ragoons.
But, all of the chicken dished that I’ve tried are hard with too much batter. And, there’s too much liquid smoke built into every pork dish. The egg rolls and the spring rolls are the worst I’ve ever had. When I said something about the rolls it didn’t improve my experience.

I called them for a lunch delivery. The person on the phone was rude. Additionally, after I order $ 12 worth of food, I was told they only deliver if the bill is over $ 15. This is absurd price minimum for lunch time delivery.
Based on reading the other reviews, this business must feel that they are so good they don’t have to have good customer service. They are wrong and I choose not to spend my money at a place that doesn’t appreciate me as a customer.
My company is half a mile from them, and in my building alone there are over 500 employees. I will let a majority of them know about this place.

This place is probably the best place to get Americanized Chinese food. It beats all of the other China Wok places because their food just tastes a lot better and isn’t as greasy like most of the other places.

Fast delivery and everything was great. Crab Rangoon, sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice. Yum!

Excellent Chinese food and not expensive. Been here a few times and everything I ordered was delicious.

I have worked in this area for quite a while and ordered often. Their customer service is lacking. The kid at the front desk doesn’t seem too smart. The food can be really oily depending on what you order (beef broccolli). The appearance of the inside restaurant looks unclean. I ask for White Rice and I get Fried. Alot. They dont provide individualy wrapped plastic utensils. They point you to a clear plastic box with disorganized utensils on the front counter. The only decent thing is their prices but that obviously is reflected in the quality.
Wont be ordering from here again.

I have been coming here for years for my fast and delicious Chinese food fix. I can only speak to the General Tso’s chicken, because that is the only thing that I order and it is fantastic. They deliver, fairly quickly, with a $ 15 minimum.

Not bad, not great. It’s your basic, greasy, NY style Chinese food. I used to get take-​out here all the time when I lived next door in the Windjammer Condominiums. The convenient location and cheap prices made me a loyal customer.
Wok N Roll runs nice special on the combo meals. The Pork Fried Rice, Dumplings, and Egg Drop Soup are my favorite items on the menu. A lot of their dishes taste similar such as the Kung Pao Chicken and the General Tso Chicken.

I’ve only had the Schezuan items so far, but have loved every bite! The egg rolls are crispy, not oily. They were do good, I declined using any sauce on them.

I would love to give this place 4 stars, since I get take-​out here regularly, but a couple of things bring it down a star.
One is inconsistency: sometimes the food tastes great, the next time something is cooked beyond recognition, or so salty my veins threaten to explode, (and how many times have I woken up totally PARCHED after eating this stuff). When it’s good, it’s decent and you probably won’t get sick from it, but it’s very average Chinese «food disguise sauce number 3» cooking. Nothing really special.
Another problem is the ambience and appearance of the place. Granted, it’s a strip mall storefront, but it just has a forlorn aura, enhanced by a not-​too-​clean environment, and extremely harsh flourescent lighting (~7000° Kelvin). It wouldn’t be hard to freshen the place up, add some nicer furnishings, and make it cleaner and more attractive.
And finally, the typical curt and incomprehensible phone-​order takers make it interesting to order here. When you phone, you’ll probably hear «WARGH NRR!» and wonder if you just made an iPhone butt call to that dive bar you used to frequent in New Jersey. Wha? Just plow ahead, they will get your order right, but it’s a little like calling tech support these days. Our nickname for this place is «Work and Rill,» which is what one of their menus said when they first opened. They’re apparently using Google Translate now.
As take-​away Chinese goes, it’s standard and probably harmless. Just make sure you have a LOT of drinking water on hand.

Wow. Can’t believe I’ve worked on this block for a year and only tried this for the first time today. I think the lame name scared me away. «Wok n Roll?»
Super cheap lunch specials. I had the orange chicken meal tonight. They let me substitute (I hate Chinese restaurants that don’t) the egg roll for a hot n’ sour soup. Orange chicken was great… quality meat, great fried rice, and as someone previously mentioned — I just really appreciate the nice containers they come in. The soup was pretty good too.
Definitely will be going back.

For a fast food Chinese establishment, I really enjoy this food. I can’t speak for the delivery service, but the to-​go orders I put in are always prepared correctly and in a timely manner. The waiting area and kitchen look a little unorganized and could be cleaner, but with food this good I wont complain. I get the general tso/​seasame chicken usually and the ingredients taste fresh and well prepared. The pork fried rice that comes with the entrees is never dry and has plenty of pork and veggies included. Lastly, the containers the food is put in are very sturdy plastic and make eating from the container very convenient saving your precious dish washing time!

Ordered here for the first time and was not disappointed.
Had the krab rangoon, egg drop soup, Kung Pao chicken and Pepper Beef.
It came as ordered, no mistakes, hot and fresh, done well, even the rice wasn’t dry.
For delivered chinese, it was everything I expected
