I stopped in last Sat night after the Rowdie game just to get a quick snack. There were only 2 people in line so I pulled in. I ordered a quesadilla with cochinita pibil filling. After about 15 minutes I asked the young man in the truck if my order was almost ready. He never gave me an answer, said I could wait inside if I wanted to because it was cold. About 10 minutes later he grabs a bag, yells Eric and when no one answered he headed off into the dining room. He comes back with the bag, looks at some paperwork then looks at me and hands me the bag. When I got in the car I checked and yes it was my order. 26 minutes to get a quesadilla when there was practically no line at all. As far as the food goes it was just ok. The cochinita pibil filling was tasty but all the meat was centered at the end of each piece. It was very sloppily made and while I wouldn’t say it was greasy, it was too liquidy. Although I’ve been to this location many times before this is my first review. A few years ago it was worthy of 4 stars but as many others have said, the place has gone downhill. 2 stars for the tasty filling and their extensive gluten free and vegan options. But I’ll be going elsewhere from now on. Too many other good choices in the area.

I used to love this place. So disappointing that their quality of food and service went down the tube. I ordered my favorite burrito and the squash was still frozen. I came a 2nd time a few days later and they made us wait 20 mins in the cold, just to tell us they are out of chicken! Why couldn’t they tell us when we ordered!?! Then the manager was completely rude and unapologetic when we told her the situation. This place unfortunately not surviving…

I have driven by this place many times and have been attracted by their outdoor environment. Today I finally had time to stop and try the food. I had the torta Cochinita Pibil. It was delicious. Rich in flavor and not over the top in spice. I tried the red salsa, even though not required, and it too was very balanced. It is good to have Mexican food that isn’t all about the spiciness. Too often these places lose the focus on the food by covering it up with heat. I will be back.

Decent late night spot. Staff is friendly and quick. Tasty tacos. If you’ve been out drinking and need to fill your stomach with something other than alcohol, The Taco Bus is a pretty good choice.

Saw on the Food Network first, having lunch the tacos are delicious! Service is great! Really friendly ordering & big open space to sit outside. What a fun venue!

I really used to like this place, but the past few times we’ve gone I’ve really regretted it. Their fish tacos are the only thing I get mind you, so this review only really applies to those. They just aren’t good anymore. Measly portions and just … meh. I don’t recommend it, as much as I’d love to like it again.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I had lunch at taco bus today and ordered a salad. It was advertised to have jicama, corn, mixed greens and romaine lettuce, cabbage and tomatoes. When I received my order, it was old romaine lettuce, tomato and onion. And the chicken I had asked for. Overall, the quality of the food has greatly diminished and I was very disappointed with the quality of the food.

I was excited to visit the bus after viewing it many times on food network. I can say the proteins we had were tasty, Carne asada &.carnitas, don’t bother with the rice or beans. It seems as if place is run by teenagers with no adults in charge. While one of the servers was serving food some guys jumped out of a car and jumped him, they proceeded to beat him up right where we were eating. Not good for business since it appears no one is in charge there were no apologies no cops called & no one offering the table a comp dinner where the fight took place. After the fight most of the staff disappeared. Ok food, nothing to write home about. We ate quickly & left. Very upsetting evening.

This is an example of a restaurant idea that was obviously started by a hardworking owner, and then subsequently turned over to employees who may or may not be on drugs but who listen headphones all the time and care and care about the music in their ears more than the customers that pays their paychecks. We had the tostada and the two tacos, and they were good. They weren’t fantastic, but they were good. However, two stars is the most we can give this establishment because of the attitude of the serving staff. I hope the owner notices and actually comes back and starts to supervise, because the idea is good and this probably at one time was a fantastic place to get a bite to eat.

The star is for being open on Monday. They were very friendly and eager to serve us. They were out of many items, so my husband who is of Mexican heritage and grandson ordered cochinita pibil and a burrito. I had cheese and a corn tortilla. We all had a Mexican Coke as they were out of horchatas and melon drinks advertised. When I was looking to find someone to ask about recycling glass bottles, I went to the open back of the truck. I am still horrified. It was filthy. I don’t mean from a days work. I mean«never cleaned» grease build up gross filthy. Food was passable but nothing special and given the state of the«kitchen» on wheels… I’m wondering where the food inspectors for St. Pete are hiding? If this is the same place getting accolades from food channel, I question their research too. No, we won’t go back.

This is a pretty cool place that serves some good food. I stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I really like the outdoor seating area and the set up of the actual bus. The staff was really cool. Very upbeat and helpful. I ended up getting the el jefe burrito with chorizo. This thing was massive. It had a great taste and definitely hit the spot after craving a burrito after a few beverages the night before. I read a lot of reviews saying the food is inconsistent so I guess I must have went on a good day. Looking forward to trying some other burrito combinations.

Visited this location with my family last Saturday. We visited a location in Tampa. But came here since we were in the area. I liked the fact that there was a nice sized parking area, as the one we usually visit in Tampa; the parking is horrible. There were a few sketchy people roaming around the parking lot. The type that have you making sure you locked your car door twice. The food was ok. I had a vegan steak taco, with veggies. I guess if you are vegan and not getting the cheese, you can’t really expect your food to be flavorful here. The vegan steak was seasoned with just salt lol. Really? I’m from California where the Mexican food is bomb! I wasn’t impressed. The tortilla was more flavorful. I was told if you want to know how clean a restaurant establishment is, go to the bathroom and see how clean it is. I had to take my kids to the bathroom, goodness I kept saying to my children«Do not touch anything» there were feces all on the toilet my kids kept saying ewwwww! There wasn’t any soap to was hands with. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else to use the restroom. Will I go to Taco Bus again? Never again… it’s a wonder we didn’t get sick. If there isn’t any soap in the restrooms, how do the employees clean their hands properly?

Great place for the authentic Taco Bus food here in downtown St Pete, yet a small step short in terms of quality from their original(flagship) Hillsborough Ave location. Don’t get me wrong the food is worthy of 4 stars, yet I would give Hillsborough five. The only reservation being the quality and product offering with their recent growth strategy providing only the basic dishes at the more recent locations(Fowler Ave, Brandon, St Pete downtown).

They normally have amazing food!!! Kickass burritos and delicious guacamole But we got a vegan steak strip quesadilla at 3am and it was so salty it was unedible and when i got home I had to throw it away :(you’d think for the price we pay it should be made correctly I normally get it there and it’s delicious it was barley any cheese or toppings all vegan steak strips and extra salty and unedible :(sadly I’ll make sure to try anything first there instead of takeout because throwing away a 11 $ quesadilla after driving at 3am just to get it is very disappointing

I loved Taco Bus in Tampa and assumed it would be the same in St Pete. Went with my dad around 1−2pm weekday, place was dead, maybe because it was 900 degrees outside. Order 2 tacos each. one Chicken Verde, and one Carne Asada. Same order for both of us. I ended up with Chicken Verde and a Chipolte Chicken. My father ended up with Chipolte Chicken, and Carne Asada hahaha cant make this stuff up. They seemed more concerned with a staff meeting, then paying attention to order accuracy. If they were slammed I’d give them the benefit of the doubt however we were 2, of 5 total customers. Tacos themselves were okay, idk I remember the one in tampa being better.

So coming back from the airport, my wonderful boyfriend decided to stop in and get us some platters from taco bus . I had the grouper platter which contained the rice and refried beans along with the pico de gallo. My boyfriend had the chicachron burrito with the rice. The food was good as expected, not too salty or overly cheesy. The portions in this location is small so if you want a lot you have to go to the one in Tampa.

Just barely OK! Nothing offensive, nothing outstanding. Nice they have seating area with AC; all clean and nicely decorated; bathrooms nice and clean too. Service was polite but not friendly– staff seemed to have moratorium on smiles and greetings. Food was a bit of wait– not too bad but not fast. Food itself– fine. Beans were a bit too salty, rice dried out. Edible filler. Tacos with stewed beef and potatoes were tender and tasted of tomato– fine but plain. My sons carne asada was slightly tough and bland; my wife’s chicken burrito was bland as well. Chipotle and Baja Fresh have bolder flavors. Taco Bell– may go there first too!

The last three or four times I’ve stopped at this Taco Bus, at least one of the following things has happened(in some cases multiple): my large horchata was delivered to me in a small cup, the horchata is 85% ice and still not topped off, quesadillas were either cold greasy or both, it somehow took over 15 minutes to get a small order when there was no line before or after us. Basically don’t even try for their late night hours because the people working there seem to hate everything all the time. I’m also getting ready to stage a one-person protest over the lack of hibiscus lemonade now. That’s just nonsense.
