Five Bucks Drinkery

At first it seems kinda frat boy and douchy in here at night but they have a good bar and beer selection. The place gets really loud and very crowded at night and it can take awhile to get a drink, however, during the day it’s not bad. The menu is cheap and the food is pretty decent. Nothing fancy but nothing bad. Good spot to get some food in your gut to soak up alcohol.

Very nice staff. Awesome food for a bar and a great value. Almost everything on the menu was under $ 6. I ordered a couple fajita tacos which were great. Then I noticed they had a grilled Mac n cheese sandwich. Even though I was full from the tacos I had to try it. Wow! It was out of this world. I can’t wait to get back there to try the Elvis… It’s a burger with peanut butter and bacon. Yes!!!

Cheap food and cheap drinks.
We usually stumble down here hungover on the weekends in the mornings.
The bloody Mary’s are so good. They’re $ 4, spicy, and come with a big piece of bacon.
Last time we were in we got the nachos. Do it. They make their own cheese sauce, give you a ton of ground beef, and the chips are homemade. Oh and they’re $ 5!
Steak clear of the chicken tacos because the shells were kind of stale. We ended up just eating the insides of them.
The bartenders are all cute and nice. The service is always good. It can get a little busy on the weekends so expect to wait for food.
It’s worth it thought. You can come here and get a smörgåsbord of food for $ 20 and it’s all good!

Small place that offers cheap drinks and cheap eats. Walked in they had a cute little trivia contest happening, sort of interesting. The food was ²⁄₅ stars simply something to throw in your mouth but may cause some stomach ache lol, the bartenders are okay but the drinks are not good! If you drink anything other than beer this place is probably not for you. The most disgusting bathroom wreaks of piss, I’m sure if they would of managed to clean this place in the beginning it would of stayed okay but the stale urine smells like it’s been there years. Overall I wouldn’t go back pay an extra $ 1 and actually get good drinks, clean place & food cooked outside of a microwave.

Honestly, I dunno. We never got served food, were told the kitchen was not up & running yet (11:30 AM) but we could order… then we waited… and waited while our waitress spent several minutes jawing with a table of young guys … then we left.

Had a good time and drinks are pretty cheap. $ 5 for a Moscow mule. The crowd is 30s/​40s and mostly white folks. Good times!

Torte is the best bartender in Downtown St Pete hands down. I would avoid going here on a packed night like on First Friday. Also try the Spicy Sweet and Thai tacos! 2/​$ 5.70

If I could I would give this place 3.5 stars but obviously Unilocal!Doesn’t allow for it so 3 stars it is! I’ve been here numerous times both to grab some food and for their drinks. The food recently was up charged from everything being under $ 5 to $ 5.91.
Surprisingly the food is actually decent for it being under $ 6. They have really good domestic, craft beers, and drinks all for under $ 5. Also, on Sunday they had $ 4 bacon bloody Mary’s which were surprisingly really good! They also had $ 3 mimosas and $ 3 bottled beers.
So this place definitely needs some room for improvement. First off the service was really slow, and our waitress appeared to be under the influence of something. After taking our orders she would go sit with people she knew as if she were a customer and there wasn’t any hurry to get our orders put in. When I received my salad it wasn’t until then she asked which dressing I wanted. Literally sat there for 10 minutes waiting and had to go inside to see where it was and she was on her way bringing it out.
The bathrooms were not clean, one of the two toilets were broken and no sign saying not to use it. This place definitely has potential but really needs improvement on more professional service and ensuring that their place of business is more clean and efficient.

Got the BBQ backyard burger and some drinkery fries, both were amazing! Drinkery fries were like wings and fries all in one! Have trivia night on Mondays, had a blast. They also have huge beers for $ 10 and many unique drinks. Great place with a great atmosphere. And everything on the menu is under $ 6, can’t beat that!

Terrible service. Came here for chips and queso before a 7:50pm movie. Asked for 2 small beers. We got two large $ 11 beers and waited over an hour and missed our movie to find out that she never ordered us the chips and queso. Absolutely will never come back here again.
Pretty crappy for a bar who use to sponsor my Tampa bay club sport team.

Love the bloody Mary’s! The Mac-​N-​cheese stuffed sandwich, featured on the Travel Channel, is one not to be missed! Had to come back a second time for another. Will come back next year for another. Great seating both inside and out-​very, friendly staff.

Pleasant atmosphere, OK service, and a pleasant waitress. But…
The menu on line doesn’t match the one at the restaurant. This meant an item one of our party was planning on getting based on the on line menu wasn’t available. Also prices are higher than shown on line.
The nachos were acceptable. Burgers ordered well done arrived pink inside yet somehow were dry. Fries were OK.
Mostly a place to drink.

Lol. All I can say about this place is they had a burger with peanut butter on it.
I normally don’t do Central Ave because of the younger crowd… this time I was meeting a friend.
So glad I did.
What a nice and pleasant surprise.
I can’t promise I’ll be back soon but I will tell anyone that frequents Stpete Central to go give them a try.

Great spot in downtown St. Pete for drinks and bar food. Super casual, tons of TVs. My boyfriend loves watching football here while my girlfriends and I grab some drinks. Servers and bartenders are all friendly.
Located right downtown on central by all the bars. Easy to find! Everything is like «5 bucks!» Make sure you come by next time you’re downtown and try the fried pickles!

I’ve become a big fan of this place for many reasons. I’ll keep this one short and sweet.
–Great hang out place on the weekends
–Pretty much everything is $ 5 and under
–For $ 7 you can get a quart of beer (which equals either 2 pints or 4 of their regular small glasses of beer)
–They have a nice selection of food on their menu

You can’t beat their prices. 32 ounces drinks and beer for $ 5! Hence their name.
Make sure you have a designated driver before coming here. Large beer selection and tons of specialty drinks.

Why hasn’t anyone ever told me about this place before? I am currently mourning the last four years that I have lived here and have never eaten here. I do realize it is a bar, but this is a review of the food.
We stumbled in here for lunch after a bachelorette party. We were hungry and we needed something greasy. This place fit the bill to a t. No, this is not a fancy place with actual napkins (they have a roll of paper towels in the middle of every table), but for the price, I’ll gladly forego niceties. All their drinks come in fat large cups. I would call them mini bucket sized. Even though we didn’t drink here, I could see how this place is popular at night with drinks those sizes.
We started with the pretzels. Do yourself a favor, get the pretzels. It is a party in your mouth. Seriously, amazing. It comes with queso and brown mustard. Both are good dips. The waitress put it down, came back a couple minutes later and was shocked that we ate it all so quickly.
The menu is a thing of beauty. Mac and cheese grilled cheese, steak and queso tacos, hot dogs in pretzel buns, everything looked good. I ended up going with the steak and queso tacos. They were delicious. Really, you can’t go wrong here. My friend got a hot dog and it was much bigger than I expected. It is a great deal for these prices! You won’t get huge portions, but it will fill you up.
Now I want to go back just to try something else. This is one of those places that I will be eating through the menu.

My favorite place for inexpensive bar food and even a step above bar food. The service has improved which has encouraged me to go to Five Bucks more often. I probably stop in once a week.
The owner is great and is very open to listening to his customers if there is an issue and he addresses it immediately.
My two favorite items to order are the soft pretzels and the Thai chicken tacos, they are delish.

Five Bucks Drinkery is basically a college dive bar with food. The food is cheap. The drinks are cheap. The place is loud. They serve food late. The service is awful because they are always extremely understaffed.
We generally only come here after everything else is closed down. It helps to have a few drinks in you before visiting. It can actually be a pretty fun place to watch a sports championship game with the rowdy crowd.
I have tried a few of their food items and they are decent. Nothing to go out of your way for, but it will take care of your growling stomach at 1am. They have a burger with peanut butter on it which always intrigues me… but I don’t think I have ever actually ordered it. The mixed drinks are also pretty good and very well priced.
We will probably continue to visit Five Bucks Drinkery after all the good bars and restaurants have kicked us out. Just expect slow, crappy service and a loud crowd here.

St. Pete is quickly gaining a great reputation for great dining and evening options. Sometimes you just want a descent bar with good prices. This is it.
I think the location and price point help this establishment. A handful of restaurants side by side, all with outdoor seating. Good place to head after the Baseball game. $ 5 burgers which were tasty. Good beer selection and the staff was pleasant. Don’t come here if you are a foodie. Great $ 5 burger, but you can probably get a culinary delight burger around the corner.
