So I saw the website for this place a while back. I was kind of curious but also sort of… intimidated? I wasn’t spaztastic or anything but their site gave me the impression that they would be frequented by ultra talented home-sewers and quilters. The selection isn’t huge but a lot of it is stuff you can’t find in JoAnns and the like — Echino, Amy Butler, and some of the other trendy fabric designers. There are also sets of flat quarters that are(I’m assuming) cut in house, patterns for small projects, wool roving, and small nicknacks from artists for sale. Fiberologie is located in the first floor of a cute little 1920’s home, and today they had the front door open to let the nice breeze in. I realized I want to live somewhere like this, as ridiculous as it sounds. The lovely lady working there was so nice and friendly while I took in everything they had to offer my eyes. I poked my nose around a corner and saw a workroom with sewing machines; this is where classes are taught(oh yeah, they have workshops you can sign up for if you want to learn how to sew, quilt, screen print, felt, make specific things, or just improve your skills). On one side of the shop, they have a loom set up with a demo(I’ve never seen the big looms in person so it was cool to me). This is one of those places that just inspires, and I hope to stop by when I have to pick up something a bit more unusual(or just to browse without specific need). I just wish there was moreeee!
