Pretty good drink specials, decent food and a great place to tailgate or watch a game. This is a Michigan fan meetup for game days and has its own viewing room for the games. Bartenders think they’re cooler than they are and slow but are friendly. I’d recommend for SPORTS!

Fun festivals, free concerts, tons of TVs so that you never miss a game, tasty and easy menu, and it’s not expensive. The wings are not the best in town. Not even close. But the burgers are pretty good and I’m a huge fan of the deli wrap. Oh, and a shout out to the curly fries! That’s right folks: Curly fries! I feel as though Ferg’s is a neighborhood staple. Plenty of parking options, great location, and it’s the perfect pre-game location for Rays games, too!

Our bartender was a sweet heart. They use basic Zing Zang for their bloody Mary’s and she spiced it up just for us really well. My girlfriend had a salad, which was super basic, but their ranch dressing is really good. We shared boneless wings which are amazing! The medium hot sauce is so good. It’s spicy and its creamy! I think their prices are a little up there for what you get, but they can be because they are in an awesome location right across from Tropicana Field. We like to go for a few beers and boneless wings before the games. I recommend sitting inside during the summer because outside is SOHOT in the summer!

Get the wings. They are always great. Fergs offers a lot of flavors and the wings aren’t from pigeons. They are good size and good tasting. The rest of the menu can be hit or miss. The burgers are average+ but come with a hefty price tag. The beer is alway closed and plentiful. and of course they have multiple full service bars. Overall Fergs is a destination. It is best know for the pre and post game parties for the Tampa Bay Rays. They are also home to Michigan games and other ‘expat’ groups living in the area.

Looked popular so we thought we would try for lunch. Walked in and sat at a booth. However twenty minutes passed and serves continued to walk pass but never stop. After twenty minutes we got up and left. So I have nothing good to say since I wasn’t afforded an opportunity to try anything.

I love the open atmosphere of this bar. It’s large and open and allows for people to mingle, dance and relax with good beer and tasty apps. The music level is good in order to still hear each other, but loud enough to get your dance on if desired. We went with a Tampa Bay Club Sport event and partook in a keg of beer as part of the ticket package. It was great to be a part of the festivities and head over to the Tropicana for the baseball game that evening following happy hour. I also love that this place is at the end of the southern Pinellas bike trail. It’s a good break point in a ride.

Great sports bar– open & breezy — came before a Rays game. First time here. Staff was friendly and prompt. Great Ahi Tuna nachos– comes with lots of Tuna and drizzled with wasabi. Prices were very reasonable and large portions.

The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because the burger was decent. I was just downtown today, saw this place, and decided to try it. I sat at one of the bars. Both the server 501 and cashier 502 were so rude to me. Two beautiful girls, but their attitudes, not so cute. I was super nice to them saying please and thank you. But from the time I walked in, they were cold. They never checked to see if I needed one more drink. Every time I needed something had to raise my hand even for the check. At one point, they acted as if they didn’t see me. I can’t find any reason why they would act that way. I could only say maybe they don’t like me, don’t like serving a black person, or maybe they were having a bad day. I usually tip a lesser amt when I get those services. This time, I just wrote a zero and tip for great service only. I’ve had it with places like this. You guess it right, I am taking my $$$ elsewhere.

When I read«Bar» before«Grill,» it is my own fault when the food I am served is sub-par! Dropped by for a quick lunch. All of the frozen/fried stuff was good and as expected from a Sports Bar. No biggie. That stuff is easy. The service was decent, but again, it was a slow, weekday lunch crowd. But Ferg’s Philly steak sandwich? Ugh, I hate to be mean, but it was like trying to chew gray, greasy, rubber bands? It was awful. Plus a just one lame Philly and chips for $ 10 ? I can get a top-notch, Philly-style beef sandwich from the Jersey Mike’s sub chain for less! The focus here is obviously on alcohol sales, so the food quality comes a distant second…

Really, really large sports bar with multiple levels, rooms and seating outside. It gets packed on game days for the Rays. We arrived at 2:30 on a Tuesday when there was at game at 7 and it was already hopping when we left at 4:30. They were playing the Real Madrid/Man City game my husband wanted to watch so they get extra points for having the correct sports channels. They switched it to a larger tv which is common courtesy and appreciated. We started with the combo nachos which were great. We then got the app with queso, guac and salsa and the guac tasted and looked like it was squeezed out of a package(not a good thing). The custom flatbread came out great. The rueben sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich were huge and great. The 10 wings.. Not so much. They were super dry and the sauce tasted more of butter than actual spice(normally butter is great but I don’t want to feel like my side of sauce is me dipping a wing in butter plus I shouldn’t need to order a side of sauce to begin with). In addition it was an extra .50 each for celery and ranch which is just annoying. They switched my husbands second beer to a plastic cup and then switched back to glass which really confused me. I can see it getting super crowded on game days. I don’t think it’d be a pleasant place in that situation.

One of my favorite spots in St. Petersburg. Great spot to hang out and catch up with the friends. Fun atmosphere and a fun place to watch the game. I definitely recommend!!!

This a descent place to head to before a game to have some drinks. Ive been to Fergs a couple times now. Its a pretty typical sports type bar that most cities have next to there sports stadiums. Drink prices are a little high, food prices seem ok but have yet to had anything here. It has a nice tv setup to watch college or nfl football. It is a pretty large place so descent if you with a large crowd. It does get pretty busy on game days but not as much on off days. Like I said, nothing special but have an attentive staff and some good aspects. Pefect before Rays games.

There is something INFINITELYWRONG about sitting in a SPORTSBAR, having to listen to juke box music. You lose your«sports» card when you do that. College Bowl games and Lightning(hello — a local sports franchise!!) playing and I’m not able to hear either. Booooo!!! And it was 1970’s muzak to boot! Had to ask twice before they turned the sound on for the Bowl game and we were 2 of only 4 people in the room and were half-way thru our meal before they got«manager approval» and obliged us. It was pointed out, that we could sit outside and hear the sound for the games. Sure — if I wanted to sit in the cigarette haze while I tried to eat, which I didn’t. Our server was nice enough when she was at our table, which was a total of four times. 1.) To say hello and take our drink order. 2.) To deliver our drinks and take our food order. 3.) To deliver our food and, 4.) To take our credit card to charge the order. Like I said — she, was sweet, just not attentive. Certainly not deserving anything above the standard tip. Her loss — we normally tip well over 20% to servers who seem like they are ‘trying’. The food, I will say, was good. At our table we had the chicken fingers, crinkle fries(served super-crispy and not greasy, as requested), chips and a loaded Heater Dog with coleslaw, jalapeños and sriracha. All of it was piping hot and delicious. Even though the food was tasty, it wasnt so good as to give them a better rating. The fact that this place didn’t deliver on the«sports», had lackluster(though polite) service, a sticky table and a bathroom, where I went to wash my hands before my meal, that was so disgusting it almost turned my stomach, was enough to tell me I don’t need to come back here again. There are plenty of other bar-food sports joints in downtown St. Pete that are cleaner and pay more attention to their customers, that I don’t need to bring my business back to this establishment. Additionally, I might mention the guy who was emptying the«common-area» garbage bins, without gloves, then opening customer-used doors and washing glasses and leaning against the bar with his dirty hands; he was the last straw. Makes me wonder what goes on in the kitchen. So, so, so gross. Blech.

Thee worst food around! It’s a nice atmosphere during games and events, but the service and food are the things that have never been good here. I’ve been many times to compare. Even gave the food a few chances, consistently horrible! I would not go back by choice, but it is a meeting place before baseball games.

If you love cheap beers before a Rays game, then this should be your go to. Other than that… meh. The food is pretty good bar food. The service could be improved with a short meeting with employees. Cheers.

This is a sports bar, yes. But it is not just any sports bar. This is Ferg’s. The wings will make you slap somebody. The wraps are great & the salads are even greater. The burgers are pretty swell too. When in doubt, listen to your inner big girl & order the nachos. Get nasty. You can thank me later.

Well, we came for the Tone Loc and Digitial Underground show. The show ultimately changed to a bunch of local artists and supposedly tone loc. The show started around 7:30 and still no tone loc at 10:31. I can only say that it is a good thing that I did not spend any money to see this concert or I would have been extremely pissed off. I honestly hope that the rest of their concerts are better planned than this one. The bar wanted to overcharge for drinks because once you were in the courtyard, they did not allow you to enter the main bar for cheaper drinks. I want to come and see bone thugs on December 11th, but if it’s any thing like tonight, I may just pass and never come back again for another concert. Good thing these tickets were comp.

With so many nicer options in the area, I don’t understand why people go here other than smelly nostalgia. The place reeks of mold from the mist fans and pee. Mediocre service and food and crappy cover bands are all this place offers.

This is the place to go before, after or anytime you’re in the downtown St. Pete area. This is one of the LARGEST bars I ever been to to accommodate a couple hundred people without an issue(and upstairs as well). This place has plenty of televisions for you sports-heart galore for those transplanted fans missing home to the fantasy players alike. The prices for drinks are typical with them averaging $ 6 but there are many locations for the bars than just one mass area people are massing to and shoving to get a bartenders attention. I recommend this bar to anyone who attends the Rays game next door, lives next door or gets locked up across the street(Police HQ) hahaha. I have always been a patron and will be a patron in the future.

Great place to gather with friends before a Rays game. Normally a very lively spot on any weekend night as well. They don’t have many specials but the prices are not very unreasonable. Buckets run around $ 20 and mixed drinks are an average of $ 6. Food is available as well(bar staples like wings and nachos). This place is a large venue with downstairs/upstairs and inside/outside. Good for large groups and small gatherings. It’s loud and festive so if you’re looking for a party, this is your place! If there’s a baseball game, parking can be rough.

Everything is less than average from service to food to drinks to atmosphere. Drinks are overpriced too. Place is filthy, and I love a good dive bar. Mold in all the vents blowing misty air outside, just no need to go there again with so many other places in the area. No idea why it’s packed other than the Rays play next door.

No AC, No Walls, just a hot tin roof, overpriced drinks, and unpleasant smokers, but it’s located right across from the Tropicana field Rays Baseball Stadium, so it’s the Go-To pre-game and post-game bar for many baseball fans. This place gets packed on game days with a good crowd of rowdy fans! Unfortunately they still allow smoking and I got stuck next to a chain smoker. It was not pleasant. There’s plenty of TV’s and servers so you never have to wait long to get a drink here. If you really want to get into the rays baseball game without going to it, this is the best place to go as there is some loud cheering and jeering going on. Prices are higher than average here, but it’s a good deal compared to the prices at the game. Don’t try coming here to sell a Rays Ticket as most people are happier watching the game here with lower drink prices than actually going to the game lol. I made that mistake before. Décor is old fashioned southern no frills but you’re hear for the baseball. I got the Philly steak and cheese for $ 10 and it was good. However, it only came with chips and fries would have been extra. I’m not big on fries but that does tend to be a standard item with your meal and I feel like its a rip to charge more for it. In the past, I’ve had their 10 hot wings for $ 10 and their Grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich for $ 10. There is limited parking available on central that is shared with many other businesses. You can get 5 Brewskies in a bucket for $ 20 or 1 brewsky for $ 5. Naturally, you cant park there if you are going to the game either. You may have to park several blocks away for $ 10-$ 20 on game day but if it’s not game day you can get parking pretty easily. This place is just too hot without AC and unpleasant with smokers to spend a whole game at. Id much rather find another bar w AC and better drink deals.

Ferg’s is a great downtown St. Petersburg FL institution! Great sports bar atmosphere! Ferg’s is a hot spot to visit before or after any baseball game at the Trop. I would suggest going early enough in advance before games to secure a spot as space fills up quickly. Aside from that it is a cool sports bar to watch any game at because of the amount of TVs they have strewn about the place. There is two hour parking adjacent to Ferg’s of you are looking for a leisurely lunch or dinner and there is ballgame parking on the premises for $ 15 that comes with a $ 5 coupon voucher(as advertised) good for purchases at the Ferg’s in St. Pete or their sister Resturant, Ferg’s Live in downtown Tampa/Channelside area. What isn’t advertised on the sign is that he coupon is only good for $ 5 off a $ 25 purchase meaning that you just at least spent $ 25 there. The bar/patio area is better suited for adults as it tends to be rowdier and the inside is family friendly. The bar offers buckets of beer which are convenient and a good deal at $ 20 each. The staff is courteous and attentive. Lighter grill style food options outside on the back deck and a more expansive menu inside and upstairs in the establishment. I have been several times and look forward to going back again.

I’ve been to Ferg’s a few times and each time, it’s just ok. Our latest time was awful. It took 30 minutes to get the checks and made us a few minutes late for the checks. Yes, we had a group of 8 and 4 separate checks, but a half hour is a bit crazy, especially since we let her know that the checks would be split at the beginning. The atmosphere is fun, and it is a great spot to stop in before the game. Inside was extremely hot. The food was bland and by the time it came out, was ice cold. We didn’t have time to send it back so we dealt with it. I’d go back, but we’ll skip the food, stick to beer, and sit outside.

Ferg’s is a moral imperative when taking in a Rays’ game in Downtown St. Pete. On gamedays, this bar is a packed house, so get there early if you want to sit. I am not a huge fan of crowds so we will normally go early and then leave for the games early if it gets too mobbed. I haven’t had much to eat here but the wings and the wings are good. They serve the normal sports bar fare so don’t expect anything fancy. The bar keeps growing and growing because they keep adding on. There is a lot of outdoor space and minimal indoor space, so be mindful of that if you are looking for some AC. Definitely stop by if you have never been here to experience it once. Just know that there is a plethora of other bars you can sit in AC comfortably all over DTSP if you don’t want to deal with the crowd madness.

Fergs is located on Central Ave, very close to Tropicana field. I recently met some friends here prior to an event at the Trop. Initially we sat at the bar street side and watched all the pedestrians and marching bands. It was a cool evening, so we soon moved inside to the«VIP» room, LOL. This is a pretty large, open place & their are people everywhere. Personally, I love dive bars and this is by far the largest & most populated dive I have ever encountered. Truthfully it is somewhat iconic & a tradition in St. Petersburg. My first problem with Fergs is that I am a wine drinker & I could not find a wine that was drinkable. Second the wine was served in a plastic cup. A wine snob, I am not, but I really don’t like to drink anything out of plastic. They offer some usual bar grub, that our group shared. The food was okay, nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible. It is a great spot to watch people. It is also a great spot to yell to be heard & be jostled by any number of people. Yes, I will return, when it is convenient, I won’t go out of my way for a return visit. What’s a girl to do? Gotta love dive bars, but some just seem to be a better fit than others.
