Shady Grove Grill & Chill

Love the pizza & especially the wings!!! They are juicy, saucy, flavorful, and huge! I suggest getting them as a pickup. If you dine in, plan for very slow service.

The service is often slow and frustrating but recently it was almost non existent and our server was smoking and drinking now behind the bar after we’d asked for our tab 20 minutes prior. Everyone at my table said they won’t be back.

Foods ok, Service ok and Location is ok. Ok to watch games at, they do have some specials. Their menu is pretty good sized with lots of options. My only real complaint is the smoke. Its pretty bad here, I guess they don’t have that great of ventilation.

Chicken was overcooked dry walmart has better chicken french fries are just pieces of fries the garlic was not existing on a parmesan garlic chicken

THIS PLACE STILL ALLOWS SMOKING!!! I was excited to try the food here since I had read some great things, but now I won’t go since the air is filled with smoke — YUK!!! I can’t enjoy my food (or drinks) if I can’t even breathe and get a terrible headache. Plus, I don’t want to leave a place and have my hair and clothes stink like smoke. I’ll go there when they get rid of their carcinogenic air.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Shady Grove not only has amazing food but the staff there is so great! They remember your name, they remember what you like to drink, they stand and chat with you! It really is a great corner bar where you just can come in and relax! We will not go to any other bar around.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and to watch a hockey game. My first impression was that it was awfully smoky. I understand it is also a bar and an owner should be able to allow or not allow smoking in their establishment. But for me it takes away from the enjoyment of a place and usually gives me a headache. With all that being said the waitress greeted us as soon as we sat down. Our drinks came quickly and were refilled often. We both had the black and blue burger and really enjoyed it.
The food was good and the staff was friendly but not sure I would go back. It was too smoky, I had to take my clothes and immediately put them in the washer when I got home.

We attended during a sports event and weren’t even noticed by the server until an hour after we arrived… and then, only after we had twice asked for the bar to send us a server. We left and went to another bar, where the service was instantly better. Will not be returning and will warn others not to patronize here.

This place is FABULOUS! Food is delicious! Their pizza is my favorite, but everything is WONDERFUL! Good for drinks and eats w friends or w family along w little ones! GREAT hangout spot!!!

Stopped in for lunch today. The service was fast and friendly. Had a Frisco burger and homemade chips. Burger was cooked just right. Great flavor and juicy. The chips were hot and crisp! My buddy got the Philly Cheese and said it was fantastic. Nice place with lots of seating. A pool table would be a great addition!

Me, and a few friends went up here just to try it out, bad experience. bartender asked what we wanted before we sat down,(not necessarily a bad thing, but still) bartender also asked for all of our ids just so 1 person could order a drink (seriously?), and was just being really rude how she said everything, and the people weren’t real friendly. if we were actually sitting at the bar, and not at a table away from the bar, i’d let the id thing slide. we left not even 5 minutes after walking through the door. not coming back here again.

FYI — I had an awful burger there one night when I was in town. I was with a friend I hadn’t seen in ages, so I didn’t make a fuss. Basically, I ordered a medium rare (actually undercooked medium rare but not rare) cheeseburger and got a thin burger with a non-​melted piece of cheese that was nearly medium well. On top of that, it was a Thursday night — poker night apparently — and the place was suffocatingIy smokey. I was pretty much devastated and made it a point to be sure and go back a few days later After all, I didn’t want to leave to go back to Chicago without giving the place a chance to rectify their burger debacle.
In any case, I went back in and am certainly happy I did so. I told our server (Pam) about my horrible burger, and she asked why I didn’t send it back, to which I replied the reasoning already provided above. She said, «if it doesn’t turn out right. Send it back. We can’t know there’s something wrong and we can’t fix that something if you don’t tell us.» They care about the quality of their food, which is always refreshing. And when they care, it’s damned good as was my burger this time. The calamari I had — meh, but the burger was just as good as I had remembered from every other delicious time. I can certainly forgive one off night. I can only wonder if the person who gave this a poor review had a similar experience to the one I had on that fateful Thursday night.

The food was okay. This not a family place. The whole thing is smoking. There are no kids menus and a high chair was hard to find.

Service and food are great. Will definitely go back…

I have had several things on the menu @ Shady Grove. Nothing has been disappointing. The pretzels are totally amazing!!! We the fried pickles today. Those are good too. By the way… GINA rocks…

Decided to give it a try based on the other reviews. Ordered the Black n Blue burger n homemade chips. Wow, now that’s a good burger! and Hot off the Grill!!! Just make sure that you like Blue Cheese if you order this, ’cause there’s plenty on it!!! Sat at the bar but the service was great there… and Gina was there too. LOL. Will have to give the pretzel bites a try next time. Great place for a great burger in St Charles.
