I just stopped in for the first time. What primarily attracted me to trying them out was the sign out front that they’ll clean and press military uniforms for free; that’s a nice thing to do for our service men and women. My initial thoughts upon walking in were wow this is great, it’s a family owned business that has been around for 70+ years and decades in just this location. They do the work on site, so this means your clothing is not going in some van to be trucked off to whatever sub-contractor does the actual work. They take care of the military. They’re in a convenient location for beach residents and visitors. Well, my happiness at finding a great local dry cleaning option(just moved here) was dashed when I got the claim ticket which showed how much I’d be paying for their services a day later when I come back to pick up. They charge rates on par with a hotel for anything other than shirts. Shirts are above average, but I’m used to that on the beach; mens, on hangers, are $ 2.65/ea, in a box are $ 3/ea. Not a huge deal, but suits, tuxes and pants are where it gets ridiculous. A suit jacket and pants is $ 16. A tuxedo jacket and pants(no vest) is $ 20. Suit pants alone are $ 7.75. In comparison, most places further inland I’d typically go are in the $ 2 to $ 2.20 range for shirts, $ 10 to $ 11 for a suit(and tux), $ 5 for pants. I’m hoping the quality I get back is impeccable but even if it is, I think I’ll be looking for another option for my next cleaning load. Will update review once I see how things come out. Update: everything came out great, and they even had my extra buttons from a suit coat in a plastic bag on the hanger because they had been left in one of the pockets from when I bought the jacket. So service-wise, excellent, just hard to look past the pricing.

I am used to dry cleaning costs and have used them for years. But when I take 3 garments to the dry cleaners and they charge me $ 55.00, you can bet I am never going back their again. I tried to get an explanation as to why the charges were so high, I have taken these items to many dry cleaners before and get the usual charges $ 6,$ 8 and $ 10. I had brought 17 other items with me for cleaning, and needless to say I took them all back. They are way overpriced and the lady behind the counter wasn’t cordial at all. The crazy thing Is I had used them once in the past and the prices weren’t outrageous, seems like they charge whatever they want. Maybe her electric bill was very high due to the hot weather and she needed to extra money, Just saying…

I too, moved from Chicago and struggled to find a reliable location where ‘heavy starch’ means ‘heavy starch’. These guys do it right! I have never over-paid for dry-cleaning or pressing AND they do a great job on minor alterations.

I cannot recommend this place due to the«surprise» pricing. My girlfriend took in a nice dress to be pressed. That is all. Just pressed. It was brand new and she wanted it to look good for the night out. It was a small, fancy dress — 2-layer chiffon with beading. The cost for the pressing was more than the dress itself: 70 dollars. Any other place(we priced it) would have been closer to 20 dollars at the top end. They service a lot of wealthier clients I imagine… but at least give someone a warning in good faith.

We just moved here from Chicago. We have always used Dry cleaning services. I must«say» the cost here is much, much more from what we paid in Chicago. I had 2 cotton tops, 3 pairs of pants,(Just Pressed) Not cleaned and 5 Shirts(just pressed) not cleaned and paid $ 50.75! Sorry, all the folks that Love this place must be very wealthy. I will not pay those prices. I will take the time to press them myself. I would have paid tops $ 21, for that is Chicago…

Gulf Beach Cleaners does an amazing job. Their quality is so much better than your average, cheap, chain dry-cleaners. They’ve been around forever, they will do anything you need them to, and they’re so reliable. I would NEVER go anywhere else!!!

Dry cleaning. What can I say. It costs a friggin’ fortune and we cannot possibly live without it; that is, if you have a job that demands you actually«dress» for work. Beach Cleaners is one of the few that DOESNOT use the yucky toxins that make your already expensive duds smell like crap. The staff is friendly, will remember you, and will NEVER lose your gear. I swear, I’ve been coming here for MANY years and have never had one goof up. My suede jacket that is 8 years old: STILL looks and feels like new. Keep up the awesome work, Beach Cleaners!
