Bones Pizza Shack

If you want your pizza delivered an hour+ later and then receive it only to find cold, mediocre pizza, this is the place for you. The customer service on the phone wasn’t too great to begin with, but when you need food, you kind of just roll with it. They gave us a time estimate of 20 – 30 minutes, but we waited for over an hour until they finally delivered it to our place.
They say that pizza is like sex in the sense that, when it’s good, it’s really good, but when it’s bad, it’s still good. This was not the case for this place. The pizza itself was pretty unappetizing, and my family being voracious eaters, were left still hungry because we refused to finish it. The sauce was nearly nonexistent, it was basically like eating cheesy bread. Only, the cheese was also skimpy with a gross, chewy texture. Also, the pizza was super greasy and cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone. You’re better off at a McDonald’s.

While visiting St. Pete, my boyfriend and I wanted to grab some pizza for dinner. We found this place on Unilocal and wanted to try it out.
We were surprised upon arrival to see that there was no where to sit at the restaurant. It is a walk up pizza joint with a little window to put in take-​out orders. We decided we wanted to give it a try, so we ordered two slices to go.
Mine was delicious. The crust was the perfect thickness-​not too thin and not too think. The flavor of my vegetarian pizza was great too. My boyfriend ordered pepperoni. His slice was dripping with grease. But, what do you expect with such a greasy meat.
Go give it a try, even if you have to walk down to the beach to find a spot to eat.

The pizza here was great New York style pizza, but the BBQ wings we had were not crispy outside, and tasted more like marinara. Very limited parking here, best to do takeout or delivery only.

There pizza is good but the customer survive is awful — took over 2 hours to deliver and didn’t pick up their phone.

Their pizza is very cheesy and the slices are large. Staff is very friendly and the prices are awesome.

We ordered Bones on a Monday night and it was delicious and fast! I really appreciated that the man who took our ordered told us we get free cheesy bread for ordered 2 specialty pizzas — something we wouldn’t have known and he could’ve just let us miss out on the deal. Instead, he volunteered the information after our order which I thought was really nice. We ordered the fajita pizza with chicken which had excellent white meat chicken, onions, and green peppers. We also ordered a supreme pizza and the sausage had a nice spicy kick. The cheesy bread is really good but I kind of wish the pieces were wider instead of long thin strips (small detail).
Be aware that Bones is a tiny hole in the wall. There’s no place to eat inside — there are picnic tables outside — but I think it’s best as a take away place. It’s in the same strip mall as Beach Bodies gym. My parents live in SPB so we’ll definitely order from Bones again!

So yummy! I recommend the Mexican meat pizza or the Cuban pizza. We’ve had both and loved them! Garlic bones (breadsticks) are delicious too.

Coming back to this place after our first visit last year… delicious and priced right… YUM!

We had pizza, cheese bread, and wings — everything was great! Small place but we got it to go so we didn’t mind.

Considering that we ordered a pizza that was completely different on both halves (ham and onions on one half, pepperoni and bacon on the other) and also requested non-​dairy versions of two different kinds of subs, the guy on the phone was great. Very cheerful and nonchalant about my picky order. Upon pickup we found that everything was exactly as ordered and tasted super good. My only issue is that they really need to send more than one mayonnaise packet for the steak and veggie sub. I’m assuming they don’t spread it beforehand to avoid soggy-​ness, which I appreciate but… one little packet? Anyway, it was still really good, and my daughter loved her meatball sub.
As far as décor goes, we loved the Day of the Dead style mural painted on the «shack». Great name choice too and loved the skelleton on the pizza box. Place has style!

Always on point. Our go-​to pizza at the beach, and boy do we have tons to choose from. So nice to have more than the ho-​hum standard offerings of a chain pizza place. We often go with the Cuban pizza, which they have no problem adapting to our request for half vegetarian (with extra pickles). The spinach salad is also above and beyond with goat cheese and red onion. My husband says the hot wings are full of flavor and perfectly cooked — not deep fried! We splurged tonight and got cheesy bones, as well. A feast for sure! Friendly efficient delivery — drivers are always on time. The owner is very present and hands on.

Do yourself a favor and skip the chain pizza joints, and grab yourself some Bones Pizza Shack. I’m no fancy pizza connoisseur, but personally it’s the best pizza I’ve had outside of New York City!
My fiancé and I moved to St Pete Beach in August, and we’ve pretty much gotten Bones Pizza once a week since then. How embarassing! I’m sure the employees roll their eyes when they see our delivery order come up — medium pepperoni pizza and an order of cheesy garlic bones (pretty much garlic bread). It’s always WAY too much food for two people, but we eat it anyway and feel both amazing and miserable afterwards.
This is your classic local beach pizza joint. «Bones Pizza Shack» isn’t just a clever name, it’s literally a shack in between a massage hut and Rick’s Reef where you can get carry out. You can also order online through GrubHub and they will deliver up and down the beach. Be prepared to wait a bit for your pizza if you get delivery — this is a two-​or-​three man show and it’s a popular place. The most we’ve waited is about an hour, but they let you know up front and you just have to plan ahead. My heart says «I love Bones Pizza Shack» but my waistline says «I hate you Bones Pizza Shack!»

This place really came through for us. We flew in and spent the day at the beach and by the time we got back to the room we didn’t really go anywhere. I ordered pizza wings bread sticks and salads and all of it was fresh hot and very good. I really liked this place and it was ready when they said it would be! Love it

We ordered take out from here on a Wednesday night. The restaurant is more of a stand, in that you pick up the food from a window and there is just a single picnic table, no inside seating. We ordered a large pizza, 4 side salads, wings, and an order of cheese breadsticks and they told us it would be ready in about 20 minutes. We arrived 20 minutes later and everything was ready except the breadsticks, which they had forgotten to make. We had to wait another 15 minutes for the breadsticks, which was a annoying (although they were worth the wait).
I was extremely impressed with the side salads. They are a decent size, very fresh, and consisted of spinach, mushroom, tomatoes, and red onion with a great oil-​based house dressing.
The rest of the food was also very good. As mentioned, the breadsticks were awesome. They were covered with melted cheese and served with marinara sauce. The wings were meaty and had a great flavor and were served with ranch. We got a hamburger pizza with black olives on half and it was solid. We all agreed that while the pizza was good, the other food was awesome!
Our entire order was just under $ 50, which was very reasonable considering the amount of food we got — it was more than enough to feed 6 adults. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a good, fast meal.

Had a pizza here about 2 weeks ago, am about to order it again, it was sooo delicious! They know what extra cheese is and the pizza was phenomenal. Best pizza in St Pete in my book!
Update, we just had their pizza again last night, it was delicious. No parking, pickup or delivery, but great pizza to go! Our Supreme pizza with Jerk chicken wings were perfectly done. Pizza crust is good, sauce is not sweet, YAY, and it is just plain good ingredients. Thanks Bones Pizza Shack for making a great pie!

When is Unilocal going to start with the half star option? Want to give this place 4.5 stars, but oh well. I was impressed. I’ve seen five star reviews before, got really excited, then really disappointed post-​meal. However, the 4.5 average is spot on.
I pulled up, and it’s a hole in the wall. Tiny. Very missable. Definitely nothing special. To be honest, it kind of looked like a dump. I was like, «oh sh-​t, here we go.» Was I ever wrong. Ordered pepperoni pizza and cheese bread. Cheese bread — awesome. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. Easily in the top three. Baked PERFECTLY. A little burnt on top and a ton of awesome-​tasting mozzarella cheese. The bread was incredible as well.
Now on to the pizza. Not amazing but definitely very, very good. Again, amazing cheese, excellent crust, but the sauce was slightly out of my preferred taste. It was still very good, but not as sweet as I usually like. Pepperoni was outstanding, however.
I will definitely be back for more.

The place itself is tiny and there is only one picnic table out front. The 5 start rating is for the pizza; I have eaten pizza all over US and this ranks right at the top. The crust was cooked perfectly and was just the right thickness. The sauce is fantastic, not to heavy with the right amount of garlic. The prices are very reasonable $ 14 for a large pepperoni.
If your craving Za and not looking for ambience you can’t go wrong here, these guys know what there doing.
No alcohol!

Pick up or delivery. Called in the order poolside and 30 min later we picked up and took ours back to the hotel. I think there r a few benches to sit and eat there. Good pizza choices — but we went pretty basic and had leftovers for late night/​breakfast (ha ha yes we’re those people!)

After reading reviews and all of my failed attempts to like pizza since moving to Florida I decided to give boned a try. First of all, the delivered to me on Treasure Island. Awesome.
Got garlic bones and a pepperoni, pineapple and bacon pizza. It was great! It even looked great opening the box, not a sloppy mess that you can sometimes get with deliveries. Perfect amount of sauce, cheese and generous toppings. My favorite part… it had smaller slivered strips of bacon! Not the tiny bacon bit size pieces that turn rock hard like everyone else. The garlic bones (breadsticks) were oveecooked on the bottom and harder to eat but the sauce they gave was so good… had a little kick to it. Will definitely be our next call on pizza night…
