This Walgreens gave me the wrong medication for the second time(see previous review), only this time a completely different med. They seriously need to be reported or something. This is the absolute worst pharmacy ever. On top of receiving the wrong medication this week, they are also«out» of one of my other meds. This has happened to me multiple times before. Considering Walgreens has a fancy computer system that calls me at all hours of the Goddamn day when my meds need renewed, you would think they computer system could also order the fucking meds. Can I also just say that I have been waiting for two weeks for insurance authorization for this med(not Walgreens’ fault), and I finally get the auth, and now they don’t fucking have it? Are you serious? The guy was SORUDE. He said they would have it «sometime next week». Didn’t offer to call and let me know. I said do any other local stores possibly have some on hand. He signed and said he didn’t know. And then he said, «Well, you’re gonna have to come get it and take it somewhere else.» Are you fucking serious? They can’t transfer a prescription within their own system? I asked if he would check to see if any local stores had my med and he said fine I will call you back. Guess what! He never did. Oh, my doctor’s office also said that this is one of the worst pharmacies they have dealt with, but this is the doctor’s office who took two weeks to get an authorization from my insurance company, so the layers of ineptitude are a little bit of a blurred line there. That’s like Ke$ha saying a song is the worst song she’s ever heard. I mean I’d believe her, but also, wow. This pharmacy sucks. Seriously. They need to be reported to wherever you report shitty pharmacies. If they are always so busy, why don’t they hire someone else? Seriously? I think Walgreens as a whole is on my shit list. I’m getting really tired of the whole thing. OH!!! And I forgot the last little bit!!! I asked the a pharmacist about a new med and if there were any problems/interactions and the response was, «I don’t know, I don’t think so.» So reassuring that the pharmacist doesn’t know, but he thinks I won’t have a heart attack if I take this med. Although, to be fair, my doctor couldn’t be bothered to check when I asked him, and just told me to ask the pharmacist. So many layers of inept people not giving a fuck about their jobs in which people’s lives are at stake. I am sure Obamacare is to blame somewhere in all of this.

This location can be rather hit or miss. My opinion of the location has decreased as they are no longer open 24 hours. I can understand the cost of hiring security at night, lack of revenue, and the neighborhood factor into this decision. The pharmacy often does a pretty decent job, but having to ring and often wait several minutes for an employee to unlock the case to get deodorant is rather annoying and silly. When they were 24 hours, I would sometimes buy it here out of convenience, but I’d rather shop at Schnucks, where I can shop at my leisure without someone breathing down my neck as I decide which cases to open for the various types of deodorant. Tom does a good job with head pharmacist, but this is only one aspect of the business, and Tom does not work all the time. I acknowledge I was hustled by individuals in the parking lot I believe to be scammers, offering to fix some scratches on my car at a shop with a free estimate. They were rather assertive and aggressive. Between panhandling and these sketchy individuals with body shop of questionable ethics, watch your surroundings at this location. They do often have a security guard, but he cannot be everywhere at once. Also, when I was on the Sprint network, this neighborhood is a dead zone. You may have no service in the store on Sprint, and if you do, data is useless. I am currently on Verizon and no longer have these issues, but just be aware.

This store is really frustrating to me. I completely understand that they are in an area where a lot of pan handling and bad behavior goes on, but it seems like the staff is either indifferent, or has given up. Almost every time I go here, I get solicited in the parking lot. They have security guards inside, but they really need them in the lot badly. These people can be very aggressive, and its pretty frustrating. Also, I have seen them openly allow panhandling IN the store, which makes shopping there pretty uncomfortable. I have also had repeatedly unpleasant experiences with the pharmacy staff here. Again, I do see what they are trying to work with, and this part of town can get pretty trying at times. However, I don’t like seeing the staff treating every single customer like they are expecting them to be a pain in the butt. This make me feel like I need to apologize for being there every time. A specific experience I would like to let others know about: I take a drug that comes in 10mg pills and 20mg pills only. The pills have a «score bar» to break them in half for taking different amounts. For years I have gotten enough pills to take 1 ½ every day. Last month they filled this prescription for me with the amount to take 3 daily of the 10mg pills instead. This DOUBLED the price of my medication(the difference was almost 150 $) Pharmacists are working with these drugs for a living– they will typically know what mg amounts are offered for what pills. They also know that more pills means more $ even if the mg amount of the drug stays the same. So I would assume that the logical think to do would be to give me the pills that cost half as much, seeing as how their income isn’t affected by the drug costs. When I explained the issue to the pharmacist, and asked if he could please fill it the way I normally get it(I promise, I was VERY nice) He was really defensive and rude about it. Not too happy about that. All the other walgreens I have been too have been VERY proactive about saving money for uninsured customers. Ive even had them print online coupons for me right at the counter, which is fantastic. But this specific store is always just a disappointment, in more ways that one. Oh, in regards to the rest of the store– it is not 100% up to par with the average walgreens,(I have many times bought food items that I later found to be expired) But it is generally fine. The store is clean enough, and the products are usually well stocked. So its not a total waste– its just has a lot that can be improved on.
