I wanted to share my story of pain and suffering. I had a surgery in 2011 to correct a rectocele and cystocele and stress urinary incontinence. The surgery was called an Anterior/Posterior Repair and a TOT(mesh/sling) procedure by a surgeon in Kansas City, MO. After this surgery I discovered my vagina was the size of a 9 year old child. I was like what the hell has this surgeon done? He said yes you will need to use vaginal dilators to stretch the skin back out. Oh lord, I tried but I just could not tolerate the pain. Needless to say this affected my marriage. My poor husband was patient. But, we lived with this for a little over 2 yrs. I went to two other gynecologist and they would not touch me. Stating it was too dangerous due to the mesh implant. That the mesh implant had scarred me up to much. Finally, one of the last gynecologist I seen encouraged me to seek treatment from a specialist in St. Louis, MO. I was reluctant at first, especially due to the long drive of 3 ½ hrs one way. But, Dr. D. Veronikis put me at ease right away. He was very gentle and professional. He was like YES I can fix you. He did not hesitate and he understood the pain I had been living with. I had the surgery and it was a great success. The recovery was a bit long and rough at times. But, it was well worth the work as now I am 4 months post op and doing great! I can now be intimate with my husband with no pain. Dr. Veronikis and his staff are the best! So, if you have pelvic pain or mesh complications, consider him to help you.
