This café, in the Central Library, is a gem. Natural light comes in from the Locust Street windows. Quiet, cool, clean, and practically empty of customers at 1230 on Saturday afternoon. No staff was present until I rang the bell on the counter and immediately an employee appeared. There are two choices of flatbreads, a couple wraps, soups and beverages on the menu, and the items were in a display case at the ordering counter. I ordered a «sweet & spicy flatbread» which had goat cheese, onions, and I think cranberries or cherries. It was great tasting. Just the right portion size. The employee heated it up and brought it to the table in a basket lined with parchment. Utensils and napkins were on the counter. The beverages are in a refrigerated case, except for the coffee which was on the counter. The flatbread and a soda totaled $ 10. There are magazines and newspapers on a rack to pick up and read, and there are some comfortable chairs in an alcove to lounge and stay awhile. I gave it 4 stars because I only tried the one item. It is only open during the day and I’m not sure of the hours. I will go back!

Walked over to Urban Eats from Jury Duty. So glad I did. The Mediterranean Turkey Sandwich was delish!!! I have been to their other location in Dutchtown which has a bigger menu and is equally as yummy

I visited the central library today with the kids to grab some books. Urban Eats just opened so we stopped in to get a bite to eat. We had sliced apples and peanut butter and delicious Parmesan Naan Wedges with Hummus. Everything was delicious and very kid friendly. The employee at the counter happily moved their chalk board over to our table for the kids to scribble on. Great experience … So happy to see delicious healthy food options at the magnificent Central Library.

I am sooo excited that the Urban Eats Café Central is open in the beautiful Central Library. It has quickly become my favorite Saturday lunch place and favorite week day office spot. The food is fresh, healthy and oh so delicious! I have tried the fresh baked orange cranberry scones– can you say almost too many cranberries! It is just the right blend of sweet and tart. My favorite is the Sweet and Spicy goat cheese flatbread, it is crispy, and a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. I highly recommend making this spot as part of you Library experience.
