I went Tuscan Sky Salon with five photos of the cut I wanted. I gave the stylist three specific instructions: 1. do not cut my bangs, 2. I NEED a pony tail for my job, do not cut it too short, and 3. I would like it cut to my shoulders. The stylist did not listen to any of my requests, or copy any of the photos. During the hair cut, I proceeded to stop the cutting three times, repeating to her that I did not want her to cut my bangs, the cut is starting to look too short for a ponytail, and to stop cutting it so short. Her answers were: 1. I don’t think it’s too short, that looks good on you. 2. I’m not cutting your bangs, I’m only layering them. and 3. It will go into a ponytail. Once she was done, I tried for a ponytail, it did NOT work. Her answer was«to just use pins or a headband.» I now need at least 5 pins to keep my hair off my face. Headbands are not allowed at my place of work. I walked out with a haircut that was not even close to what I wanted. I had short bangs, and so many short layers it could NOT go into a ponytail. It sort of resembles a modified mullet with the shortest layers above my nose. It is nowhere near my shoulders, where I asked for the cut to be. I was so unhappy with my haircut, I cried for two days. Wanting to validate my opinion on the haircut, I went to a professional stylist, who confirmed my thoughts: the stylist at Tuscan Sky Salon«messed up.» Meaning she had an oops while cutting the front of my hair and had to continue going shorter to fix it, which is why it now resembles a mullet. All I can do is wait until it grows out. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I think even Great Clips would have done a better job. They would have at least listened to my requests, and it sure as heck would have been cheaper.

The location is good and the salon is nice. The service I received was the problem. I left the salon with hair color on my forehead and temples and cheeks! The woman doing my hair didn’t even bother to attempt to clean up. The color was too brassy/fake looking(I usually just brighten my natural color). I just felt like the whole thing was unprofessional. I bought a groupon to try this place out and now that I have I won’t be going back.

I have never left a review, but felt strongly enough about my experience to do so. Not so much about not liking my hair and not getting at all what I asked for– that happens to everyone, it’s a risk you take when trying a new stylist… more so about the way it was handled. I went in for cut and color, explaining over and over that I did not want anything drastic, I simply wanted to fill in more roots in prep for a wedding I was going to be in. I even said«I don’t even want anyone to notice I got my hair done.» Her response was«People might say, ‘did you lose weight, or get a tan,’ they might notice something but it will be so subtle they won’t be able to put their finger on it.» Throughout the appointment, she could tell how nervous I was that it might be too drastic, as I was sitting with my head tingling– the first all over color I had ever gotten which she assured my was just my hair color and would blend the roots in. My hair is naturally ashy blonde. After washing my hair, and spinning me around to the mirror, I realized my hair was quite orange looking, wet on my scalp. Sure enough, as she dried it, it was very strawberry blonde– an undeniable orange/red tint. She convinced me otherwise, and assured me it was the same color as the ends of my hair, just blended. I remained calm, trying to believe I was just oversensitive to the change. But from my room mate, a friend, and my mom– the feed back was«So not you, brassy, strawberry blonde, pretty drastic.» I called Yvette that night with my concerns, she never called back. I then texted Yvette 3 days later, frustrated that I hadn’t even heard back from the voicemail I left her. She called back, I expressed my concerns and frustration that I had not even heard back after calling her, and that I ended up paying over 100 $ to have it fixed before the wedding. Her response was: Your message should have been more clear– I just got too busy to call you back. I am a professional and expert in the field. I did what I knew would look good. You have just never gotten all over color and needed time to adjust. When you left, my next client even complimented it, so I know it looked good. If you want, you can come back next time for a free service. But that is all I can offer because I am very satisfied with what I did” Good luck if you go with Yvette!

I went here a while ago after finding the website through a south city massage search. I like getting half off anything and it’s close to home so I made the appointment. Angel is really flexible and also fun to talk to! I had scheduled a 90 minute, but she was honest and said she couldn’t really do more for me and only charged me for a 60 minute at the 70 minute mark. She also gave me another coupon if I return! She used a lot of pressure and I was sore for a few days, but it felt great during the massage. I believe they also have hair stylists. But if you need a massage for a great price, give Angel a call!
