If you choose to go here be careful. I went last week and ended up in the ER from a blood infection that made it halfway to my heart. They said they clean their tools, when I went to inform them. Even if the tools are clean, if their hands aren’t that’s a problem. They did not visibly cut my skin. But the ER doctor said even the tiniest of cuts could cause this. Fortunately someone noticed the red line on my skin that started at my fingernail and went up the back of my arm in time to get me on 2 antibiotics before it was too late.

I love this place! $ 25 includes tip for an amazing pedicure! Their nail polish is a little limited to reds, pinks, and orange hues. So if you want something crazy I recommend you bring your own. It’s totally worth it– they take their time, and make sure you are comfortable. They are also the only place still around that uses the razor on your calluses.

I LOVE this place! They are so sweet. I have gone here every once and a while(like once every couple of months) for years and they always are so welcoming. It is clean, they are good at what they do, they are sweet and nice to talk to. They always tell you that you are sexy– which is a definite plus when you need a little pick-me-up! It is also somewhat on the less expensive side– not cheaper bc their service is amazing– but you definitely pay slightly less than you would at a similiar place for the same thing. These are great people and they really do their best every single time I come.

During wedding weekend extravaganza 2005, my bridesmaids and I visited Tip O’ Nails for some mani/pedi fun. Since it was the day before the wedding, we had all sorts of things planned for the day and Tip O’ Nails was kind enough to open a bit early to accommodate our group. We brought in breakfast treats and mimosas, picked from a nice variety of colors(although the majority of us did french mani/pedis) and relaxed as the friendly ladies at Tip O’ Nails did their thing. If I remember correctly, the mani/pedis were $ 30 per person and while it’s kind of lame they accept cash only, we were all happy with our nails – I didn’t even chip on the honeymoon in Aruba. I’ve only been to Tip O’ Nails once(it’s kind of a long trip for someone who lives in Chicago), but my sister-in-law is a regular and sings the praises of Leigh Ann every time she gets a service there. Tip O’ Nails isn’t the fanciest nail place I’ve been to, but it’s clean and inexpensive, the ladies know what they’re doing and their work lasts! Can’t ask for too much more, especially if they let you bring in mimosas! :)
