Great brews in a post-industrial setting. You know those craft breweries that have 6 beers on tap, but oh sorry we’re out of 4 of them? Not here. They have 10+ taps of their own brew on tap at all times. Fuckin’ believe it. Whether you want to pound a pilsner while playing bags with your bros, or sip a barrel-aged stout alone in the dark, Modern’s got ya covered. Crank up the springsteen!

While looking for a place to catch up with an old friend who is also a beer aficionado, I stumbled upon this gem. I believe it’s relatively new and the website looked promising, so we decided to go. I must’ve sampled every beer they had on tap thanks to our incredibly accommodating bar tender(beer tender? There must be a better word for this). The place was crazy busy, but we still managed to snag a couple spots at the bar after a couple left. Almost everything I tried was delightful, but since it was my first time, I knew I had to sample my way to a judgement call and not get a pint of everything. Considering they haven’t been around too long, I was surprised at how many options there were. They didn’t offer food, but there was a food truck right outside. I’m eager to return.

There have been a ton of breweries that have opened up in STL in the last few years. There are not a town that are located in Midtown though as there used to be a dead zone between side project/schlafly’s and UCBC. Modern Brewery filled this gap. The beer is good. There is a large selection here. The service was good. I like that there were a couple food trucks out front. I picked my mom up a BLEAT sandwich on the way out that she said was delicious. The only real negative is that it can be hard to find as it is in the back and not great signage directly one inside.

Great local brew. Fun environment that is just the amount of «hipster» that I can handle. Their barrel aged stout is excellent.

By far my favorite microbrewery in Saint Louis. Fantastic selection of beers to try. They also rotate the taps, for what seems like every weekend, so you can enjoy new beers week after week. In addition to the great selection of beers, the bartenders and staff are phenomenal. Some microbreweries make you feel uncomfortable if you’re not familiar with beer, but the staff at modern will let you try beers and help you find the one you like best! No food is served at the brewery but you can bring your own food and there is always a food truck or restaurant selling food. I would just check Modern’s social media to confirm what food is there when you visit. Overall, Modern is a great place to bring friends and family to have a great time!

I love the St. Louis craft breweries. Modern makes some great beers that I see at other bars, but what they have to offer at their tasting room is far beyond what I expected. The Russian imperial stout is super great… 5 stars! Keep it around.

Tasting Room now open on a limited basis for this fairly new StL microbrewery. Nice layout inside & look for the old Chevy truck parked just off Manchester when they are open. Ambiance is enhanced with old style lighting up at bar & the building’s ceiling is reminiscent of the old Arena, that’s because it was built by same company! Nice, casual atmosphere & chances are you will find Beamer or Ronnie on site to welcome you to their brewery. Worth the trip, just minutes from The Hill, SLU, Barnes, etc. Oh, and the beer is magnificent! Highly recommend«Citrapolis» for those who favor hops!

My girlfriend and I were among the first to experience Modern Brewery’s Tasting Room. While the hours are limited, and the location somewhat challenging to find, your first sip will make it all worthwhile. Modern Brewery’s Tasting Room is a great addition to the extremely impressive St. Louis microbrewery scene! I expect to see them expand and grow! I, for one, will be back! P. S. They welcome carry in food.
