The food gave me regrets. The ambience was not much better. Very loud Packers fan making lots of noise during a non-Packers game. This place is off the list.

The hive is hands down the best bar in Creve Coeur. $ 5 pitchers of Miller, are you kidding me??? That’s a deal if I ever saw one. Contrary to other reviews, the food here is unreal. They have the best wing sauce in town. Not only is the food and beer good, the service is the best in down. Honey pot is a spectacular bartender. If you come here you will see me and my boy Kevin here crushing tasty miller light. I want to live here.

Totally a fan of The Hive. Don’t expect some high-end place… everyone here is going to be in jeans and a t shirt. I have only been once, and it was on a Saturday night to go and watch the Blues game. They don’t have a ton of large tv’s, but they do have enough to make it worth it to watch a game there. Anyways, we really ended up liking it. My favorite bar in the world is this hole in the wall, where its cheap to drink, and no one has their nose in the air. This is one of those places. My friend bought the first round, two beers, and a vodka sprite, and it was only like 9 bucks. One drink downtown costs that much! They also have food, and from what I have heard, it’s actually pretty good. I’m excited to come back and try the food, and spend more nights here!

I came here for lunch with my son and mother. We waited about half an hour to place or orders, but the food was a lot better than expected. On the down side, the music was incredibly outdated and the waitress was rude and huffy. I’ve dealt with rude servers before, so that’s really neither here nor there, I suppose. My only REAL complaint was that the cleanliness of the place leaves a lot to be desired. My beer glass had a nasty, grimy, stuck-on film on the inside of it that I couldn’t even scrape off with my fingernail. I couldn’t finish my beer– looking at the glass just made me gag.

It’s definitely meant for a specific crowd… a dingy sports bar for 50 – 60 year-olds. What I don’t understand, is how are Miller Lite and Blue Moon the only beers on draft?

My Hubby and I stopped in here after visiting St. Louis for the birth of our granddaughter. Beer was good, we ordered nachos as an appetizer and a BLT. The food was wonderful! Kudos to the chef! Best Nachos and BLT ever!!!

It’s not fancy a bit dark and the seats wobble along with the tables. But for lunch or a well deserved beverage at the end of your day this place is great. I’ve tried a few different burgers and they were good burgers for the price. Then I ordered the Cuban Pete and I found a place where I will order nothing else. It is one of those sandwiches you must have after you’ve been separated for a while. Everything on the Pete is well balanced and it is one of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve had anywhere. The other thing I like about this place, and it frees up your servers to take orders and run food, is your soft drinks are served in mini pitchers. Brilliant! If you want to play bar games or see Paris Hilton go somewhere else. This place is a nice dive bar with some great menu gems.

This place is a great happy hour joint in Creve Coeur. Decent bar food, good service and a wait staff that is easy on the eyes. Their Fish Sandwich is a personal favorite of mine as a lenten special. The only thing that keeps this from a 5 star review is that the place tends to be a bit smokey and they don’t really have a good ventilation system there.

Went there on a Saturday evening and it was packed, the drinks were good and decently priced, however everyone there seemed to be a little old… like 40+ so I guess if you’re a little older and you want to find a place where all you want to do is stand there and drink and chat with older folks then this is the place for you. I felt out of place as I am only 22. I’m not sure if it’s always that way, but I most likely won’t go back. If I want to hang out with an older crowd then I’ll go to my parents’ house.

This is the type of place you go when your only goal is to get wasted. Otherwise dont waste your time. I visited the Hive with a couple co-workers for lunch, and I must say I was not impressed. I was immediately turned off by the waitress. She was not exactly a delight, and to be honest, had on the shortest shorts imaginable. If I wanted a side of vagina with my burger I would have gone to the east side… It was 11:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. Anyway, the four of us placed our orders. I ordered an appetizer. I didnt receive it until I had already paid my check over an hour and 15 mins later and in a to go box. We ordered a couple of burgers and a wrap, nothing fancy. It took over 45 mins for our food to arive and it was mediocre at best. We paid our tab and left almost an hour and a half later. There is no reason lunch should have taken that long, especially when we could have gotten a better burger from Five Guys up the street. To make matters worse, as I was going over my checking account balance i noticed a descrepency. My card had been charged not only for my meal, but for another seprate ticket as well from one of my co-workers who paid in cash. Is this just plain stupidity or was someone trying to up their tips for the day and hoping that the customer wouldnt notice? Long story short, It’s a shitty establishment but would probably be fun to visit and throw back a couple beers.

Can’t believe it took me so long to find this fabulous dive bar… I was told happy hour is the best time to come, we went on a sat afternoon and it was slow, but this could turn into a regular hangout. Carrie our waitreSs was great!!!

Relaxed place to watch a game or grab a bite. The prices are cheap and the service is good. It does have the divey feel but the crowd is normal west county. The toasted ravioli are GREAT!

Co-workers and I work around the corner. We USED to go on a regular basis, but recently was over charged by $ 50.00. When I questioned the bill, the waitress was very crass and acted very unprofessional. The manager would not listen to me or others at the table, and took the waitresses side. The Hive has now lost at least 50 regular customers and hopefully more.

I must only go there on non MILF night, however their are sad 40 and 50 something drunks that are regulars and d-bags getting in shouting matches over RBI’s or who was the better highschool quarterback. Looking forward to seeing the new outdoor patio.

The Hive is a two story dive with a deck that hires milfs to serve to middle age or older West county men.(If you are looking for a «sugar daddy»… ;) The milf bartender was nice and allowed me to get a pitcher of beer price on 4 pint glasses. The tap selection was all large brewery & mostly light beers, but I was on a lunch break so I was O.K. The milf made the joke about men being visual and gave me 4 poker chips and took one away for the first beer. I ordered the ‘taco salad” and quickly was served a very large bowl of romaine, barely seasoned ground beef, tomatoes, cheese and black olives with a side of chips & bland salsa. The value for under $ 8 was ok, but needed more taste. A good dive just to relax is always a welcome place in West County.

Four of us stopped in for a quick lunch on the way back from a meeting. All seemed well — we were given menus and had our drink orders taken. The menu looked nice… pretty standard fare here, with a few that sounded awesome. Bacon spinach wrap with hot bacon dressing? Sign me up. Plus they had several appetizing sandwiches and burgers. Upon having our order taken, however, I was immediately turned off. My co-worker ordered a salad and asked if she could order some bread on the side. The waitress said«ok…» So my co-worker asked what kind of bread they had, and our waitress just rolled her eyes and, irritated, spouted off«white, wheat, I don’t know, what do you want?» Then, when it was my turn to order, I simply asked her opinion of what was more popular, the taco salad or the bacon spinach wrap? She literally rolled her eyes, stomped her foot a bit and said huffily«I don’t know, what are you in the mood for? Mexican? Spinach?» Gee thanks for the tip. Now, I generally like to be fun and flirty with waitstaff, and usually get a big laugh when a server pokes fun at me — I can take the heat and enjoy dishing it right back. But this was clearly not the case — this was an annoyed server who had an attitude with her customers. The food came out, and the taco salad I ordered was big but nothing to write home about. Too bland for my taste — I couldn’t taste any taco seasoning and I would have preferred actual dressing as opposed to just sour cream and salsa. The food was just OK, and the service was actually decent, but our waitress’ attitude ensured I would never be back. I’ll take my money to a place that doesn’t make me feel like I’m bothering them by patronizing their restaurant.

Updating my review and adding a star for the outdoor patio. For some reason, the first time I came, I didn’t see it even though it is right by the entrance. Probably because it was the dead of winter then and all I could focus on was getting inside. Anyways… The outdoor patio is pretty nice! Small area(only about 10 – 12 small tables), but especially now that the weather is nice, it was a pleasant experience. However, this place is aptly named The Hive because there were a TON of giant bees everywhere! Maybe that’s why they named it that???
