I appreciate that The Cup is open late(8:30pm or 10pm) because most of the other cupcake bakeries are closed by the time I leave work. I am not a cupcake person, so 99% of my purchases from The Cup are usually treats for other people. My friends and family are always super happy and excited when they receive these large, adorable cupcakes. I tried the Raspberry Beret today(raspberry buttercream, french vanilla cake, raspberry filling, and a white chocolate disc on top) and it tasted absolutely heavenly. The cake was super moist, airy, and not overly sweet. I could really taste the raspberry in the buttercream frosting and the raspberry filling was a sweet surprise. I love the selection of flavors at The Cup and I think the cupcakes are very reasonably priced(about $ 3 each). Put a smile on someone’s face with these amazing cupcakes!

I’ve come here multiple times over the years. I love this place. They always have good cupcakes at good prices and are able to accommodate for my allergy if needed. I enjoy their monthly or seasonal cupcakes all the time. One of my favorites during the summer is the Cardinals themed one. That tastes so good. I really like their Hope cupcake too. The cakes are really moist and can stay moist for a couple of days, if you order some to save for later. Which let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to order a bunch and eat them over the course of a couple of days. The place is kind of hidden, but is totally cute and makes up for the lack of parking. I enjoy it a lot.

Great cupcakes and coffee! Fun little corner of CWE. And thank you for being pet friendly especially in winter. Better than imagined variety!

WOW this place is absolutely the worst excuse for a cupcake eatery ever. I mean the god damn cupcakes were off setting by the unnecessary amount of frosting –99435⁄1 would never recommend or dine again!

Delicious cupcakes! I like how the flavors rotate on a schedule. The icings are very flavorful and complement the cakes well. I have tried about 10 flavors and have loved them all. The cupcakes I get are always moist and delicious but do not keep well in the packaging. The price on the cupcakes is perfect. Jilly’s is way too high and I don’t think their pastries have any better flavors or higher quality ingredients. The Cup is my favorite cupcake in St. Louis!

Stopped by The Cup for some birthday cupcakes. It was about an hour before closing and there was a nice selection of flavors. I was happy to see that the cupcakes weren’t dried out since it was late. The cake was moist for the most part. A couple were tough around the outer edge. The frosting was really sweet. My favorite was the Triple Chocolate. The dark chocolate cake made the sweet frosting more balanced. The filed cupcakes needed more filling. There was maybe a tablespoon inside.

Stumbled on this little shop while exploring Central West End. The Cup has that quaint bakery feel you just can’t resist. This would be the perfect place to read a good book or ponder how they make the perfect frosting. I would recommend the confetti cupcake.

One of the good place in town for cupcakes. Nice setting. Easy parking. Located in the heart of Maryland plaza. Friendly service. I wish they offer more coffee options since I’m not an American coffee fan. The pumpkin harvest/gingerbread/lemon drops are highly recommended !

I like The Cup but I do not LOVE The Cup. It will do if you want a cupcake but I have had better. They are a good size cupcake and good flavor, just not that from scratch taste that I typically like. They taste a little artificial. But they have a nice selection of flavors, places to sit and its a nice place to chill or get a quick dessert after dinner. It is nice but not my go to for cupcakes. HOWEVER, today I had their seasonal GINGERBREAD(real whipped cream, spiced gingerbread cake, brown butter filling, with a mini gingerbread cookie on top for $ 3.45). DELICIOUS! I ate it before I remembered to take a picture! It was SOGOOD! It changed my mind about The Cup. Instead of the 3 I would have given them in the past, they got a 4 today!

Huge cupcakes with filling on the inside and just the right amount of delicious icing! I make sure to go by The Cup every time I’m in Illinois or near Central West End!

I’m not that big on sweets so I can’t get myself to give this place five stars. however, this place is pretty good. the space is clean and colorful. the service is always friendly and welcoming; can’t expect anything less from a cupcake store. they have variety and aesthetically pleasing cupcakes making them much more alluring. optional fondants which are fifty cents each to plop them into the cupcakes. the cupcakes themselves are yummy, moist, and flavorful. definitely did not disappoint. the cup is my go-to place for cupcakes in St. Louis.

The Cardinals cupcake was a little disappointing but my mom said the strawberries and cream was good. I might try a different flavor the next time I’m in St. Louis.

I went here a couple weeks ago and my standards weren’t that high due to previous experiences at other cupcake cafes around town. But The Cup exceeded all of my expectations and I will definitely go here again. The guy manning the counter was very friendly, informative, and helpful. He was patient as my friend and I picked out our cupcakes too. Anyway, the cupcakes were so good! Normally cupcakes at places like this can be very dry and not that great but these were very moist and flavorful. I’m coming here again to try more of their flavors. Oh, and their cupcakes are very reasonably priced! I highly recommend this place.

Not the greatest cupcakes you can get around town but definitely not the worst. They do have a nice selection of cupcakes whenever you’re feeling froggy or need a quick single for someone’s birthday… that’s usually when I’m here. They even have candles at the register for your convenience. It’s nice to sit inside, maybe even a small group outing. Nice and quiet. Wi-Fi accessible. Coffee available for you to enjoy after you finish your cake. Parking isn’t the best so prepare to walk if the 3 spaces out front are occupied. I particularly like the look of The Cup, it’s cute and the customer service is on par.

We went to this place to see about them making a wedding cake. Despite that, much of this review will be about cupcakes, so keep reading. So we got here and they had 10 – 12 different kinds of cupcakes to choose from. They all looked really good. Given that we were here to see about them making a wedding cake(more on that later), we got to sample 4 of their cupcakes. The first was a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and bits of shaved chocolate on top. It was incredible. I normally wouldnt want chocolate cake for a wedding, but this was too good to pass up. The cake was moist and the frosting was amazing. The next one we tried was the tuxedo cupcake, which had chocolate cake, but vanilla frosting with oreo crumbs and a mini oreo on top. It was also very good, but not as good as the double chocolate. The third one we tried was the confetti cupcake, which had vanilla cake and frosting, with confetti sprinkles on top. It was good, but our least favorite of this group. Finally, we also had a yellowcake cupcake without frosting. We also got some peanut butter frosting to put on there separately. The yellowcake cake was really good, it has a perfect texture. Honestly, it stood on its own without the frosting. With the frosting, it was even better. I liked all their cupcakes, I thought they were very good, and a little bigger than I was expecting. As for the wedding cake, yes, they do make wedding cakes. Their cakes are generally a bunch of cupcakes for the guests, plus a small(10 inch?) cake on top for the bride and groom to cut. They all look very good. There are also many different options to choose from. Not only can you get any kind of cupcake they make(some are seasonal though), you can get the top covered in sprinkles, you can get cupcakes with a creamy center, you can get ones with other special things on top. There are also a number of options for the mini cake too. I really like their cupcakes, and I think they are reasonably priced, especially compared to their competition in the area. I would go back there again, as I look forward to trying the peanut butter and chocolate cupcake.

This is the best place to stop for cupcakes in STL. The Cup takes the cake on moistness and flavor for local cupcakes. This store sells enough cupcakes that they are fresh and never stale. The Italian Crème Cupcake is Amazing. Chocolate Peanut Butter is really good too. Never had one that I didn’t like. Reasonable pricing. Friendly and Fast Staff. The ONLY problem– not open on Sundays. Really wish they were open on Sundays!!!

This place is just the greatest place ever. My unofficial title, «Cupcake Conquistador» provides me with the appropriate street cred to provide an unbiased review of the Mecca of Cupcakes. As a fan of cupcakes and as a world traveler I have never had a better cupcake than the ones I get from The Cup. I used to think that Crumbs bakeshop was the bomb when it came to Cup Cake mastery. Boy was I wrong. I have never eaten a cupcake here that I thought was terrible or anything other than delicious. Sometimes they can be a little sweet for my taste but I mean c’mon, I am voluntarily eating cupcakes! Everyone who works here is always so friendly, patient and helpful. You can’t hate the free samples either! If you are getting cupcakes from somewhere else you are doing it wrong!

Weekend fat girl runs complete? Now they are, check! So you say cupcakes are a novelty that have worn off, that they are losing their appeal huh? I would say yes that is true for places that sell the exact same cupcake you can make at home or are just okay and have huge, very pretty cupcakes that taste like dry cornbread, but NOT The Cup. It’s a Saturday night and I am parked soooooo illegal to run in here really quick it’s terrifying. The cupcakes I had this evening are: HOPE, PUMPKINHARVEST(cinnamon butter cream pumpkin spice-cake w/chocolate pumpkin bark), CUPPACOFFEECAKE and PEANUTBUTTERCUP. As I was checking out, Bobby at the cash register saw my Starbucks gold member card when I pulled out the rest of my cards to pay and said he also was a gold cardholder. I told him I was headed there next, he was very vigilant on what I had in the box that he so delicately packed and told me that if I was going to go there that the cuppa coffee muffin would pair perfectly with a certain drink. I was elated that he noticed and took a chance to make a comment. Man I love my city! Then, as I am walking out a voice says, «So you didn’t make your movie either huh»? It’s the young lady that I was standing in line with at Tortillaria(see my review there). It was so cosmic that we both picked this place to go to afterwards and I think that speaks to the status and quality of The Cup. I really enjoyed my lovely creations from The Cup. Shout out to Bobby and the lovely young lady who made me a special breast cancer awareness cupcake(«HOPE») without the sprinkles! Man I really love my city and in random ways, my city shows me it loves me too!

The Cup is such a fun place to stop in the evening for dessert! They did such a great job at setting this place up like a coffee shop but instead of coffee you get scrumptious cupcakes! Oh, did I mention… you can get Kaldis coffee here, too? Win, win! I tried the Pumpkin and The Fools Gold. Both were good but I would recommend the Pumpkin. It’s temporary and amazing/unique. They have a ton of different flavors. If you’re in the area and looking for a great place to grab dessert and hang out you should go to The Cup. Well worth the trip.

I have to update this from 4 to 5 stars. I. Love. This. Cupcakery. Truth — the cupcakes are the best I’ve found in The Lou. So it is definitely my go to spot for a sweet treat. All my friends ask for them when it’s my turn to bring dessert. What better compliment is there than that? Except maybe a 5 star rating from me. :0)
