Everything is great here. Lots of variety in the menu as far as hotdogs go. I’ve had so many things here it’s hard to pick a favorite. However, Bacon Bacon Jamaican, R2-D2, Pit Bull, and Gorilla Mac & Cheese are my standards.

It’s a cool place with a nice selection of very unique Hot Dogs. The Star Wars stuff on the walls is great, and its always busy. If you like Hot Dogs or want something different, go here.

Long time patron, first time reviewing. I’ve been more than a few times since the opening, and it’s always been awesome service and great dogs! I always make it a point to stop in at least once to Steve’s when I am in town, do the same and give them a HYAAAH!

I visited Steve’s before the macaroni bowls. I got a normal hot dog for the meat and half gorilla, half stormtrooper on top. The woman that was at the register was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed that your first visit earns 3 punches on your punchcard(9 punches yields a free meal). The Stormtrooper half of my dog was better than the gorilla half– I just didn’t like the cheese of the mac and cheese that much. Maybe if they are doing mac and cheese bowls now, the pasta game has been stepped up. The meat of the original hot dog was very bland, it seemed like my hot dog was a little old or overcooked. I would recommend going for a salsicca or more exciting meat than the plain hot dog. The soda offerings were impressive and made me very happy!

Great hot dogs! And also sausage and chorizo dogs available as well as the elusive vegetarian dog. There is something for everyone here and if you don’t want to go there, they deliver. I recently tried the new R2D2 dog… beef dog topped with philly cheese steak. Yes, steak, chesse, grilled onions and peppers. Yum! My hubby loves the Gorilla Mac’n’Cheese. The buns come from right across the street at Viviano’s and they use G&W for sausages as well as Imo’s for the salisiccia(Pronounced sah-ZEET-za so you don’t make the rookie mistake I did 20 yeas ago when I first went to The Hill). A lot of St. Louis in a little bitty place. Plus take a look at all the Star Wars paraphernalia as well as Steve’s awards from his stellar musical career. And don’t forget to check Facebook to get the word of the day for a $ 1 off!

Steve’s, what can I say! I have been a fan and consumer of massive amounts of their hot dogs for some time. When I found out they would be part of our Unilocal Christmas party I was excited to say the least. Naturally they served up some of their specialty hot dogs covered in wonderful veggies and sauces. Nothing can be better than a warm hotdog with the works. Thanks you guys for always filling my need for meat on a bun and thanks for being a part of our celebration.

Not your momma’s hot dogs, the regular menu is amazing and the weekly specials should not be missed. Gourmet dogs at a comfortable place and price. Come by Wednesdays for the waffle dogs, unlike anything else anywhere. Don’t like dogs? They have other sausages and mac and cheese bowls too. Also a favorite spot for my kids.

I walk to the Hill all the time and didn’t know this place existed. I went here because a friend took me. I don’t normally like hot dogs — at all — but I had the storm trooper hot dog and it was DELICIOUS

I ordered the veggie dog combo online, not only was my order 20 minutes early but the gentleman who made the delivery all the way back to the store to get my Doritos that were missing. 10⁄10 service 100% recommend. And the veggie hot dog was absolutely delicious, best hot dog I’ve ever had in my whole life.

I don’t even like hot dogs, but I love this place! The Nathan’s hot dogs served at Steve’s are cooked to prefection! This little gem on The Hill is sure to please everytime, consistently providing great tasting, high quality food! Dine in, carry out, delivery… However you get your Steve’s Dog, just do it! Some of our household favorites include: Gorilla Mac & Cheese, The Storm Trooper, Chili Cheese Dog, Hawaii 5 – 0(my hubby adds avacado). Or my dad’s favorite, which we have loving named, «The Old Man» a dog wrapped in provelone cheese with a bun. Seriously, I feel you can not make a bad lunch choice here! Get your new favorite for lunch tomorrow!

I have now tried Steve’s Hot Dogs on the Hill and Steve’s Hot Dogs in Tower Grove. The first time I came to Steve’s Hot Dogs, I had the Very Very Veggie Dog. It was pretty good, but I was wishing for more veggies. The last time I came, I asked Steve what the most popular hot dog is and he pointed me to the Gorilla Mac & Cheese Dog. WOW… it did NOT disappoint and has raised my review from 4 stars to 5 stars. It was absolutely incredible and came out steaming hot! It was packed with macaroni and cheese, fried onions, and bacon. I’m reluctant to try any other hot dogs now that I have had this one, but yet I feel I must come back and try one of the many other interesting hot dogs on the menu. In addition to hot dogs. Steve’s Hot Dogs now serves Mac & Cheese bowls, which also look delicious. There are also craft sodas, such as Fitz’s sodas. In terms of the ambiance, it would be nice if the space was bigger. There are some tables inside and a few on the patio. In terms of service, Steve and his staff are extremely friendly and warm. As a final note, if you check-in on Unilocal, you get $ 1 off of a combo. The only downside is that the Hill location closes at 4PM. Never fear though… the Tower Grove location is open much later(and has a bar next door so you can have a beer with your hot dog!).

Went to Steve’s for the first time. Had the chili cheese dog and mac n cheese. Mac n cheese is good and portions are a lil big. Love the flavor of the hot dog. I’m a minimalist when it comes to some foods. The NY Nathans hot dogs are good enough on their own. I plan on going back to get a plain dog with cheese and ketchup. However, my bestie swears by the Back Yard BBQ Dog. I did like the potato salad & real bacon bits on it. Not a baked bean fan though. Very laid back atmosphere, prices won’t break the bank, and the whole feel of the place is laid back. It’s about $ 6 for a combo Loved it. Wasn’t too crowded at 2pm when all the county people come in for Hill shopping. Only down size is not fountain soda or fresh brewed ice tea. Will return.

Super friendly people and comfortable interior and good hotdogs(Nathan’s), but nothing special to me. I had the St. Louisan and the macaroni and bacon versions and the toppings were of no top quality, just good quality. I do think hot dogs are one of those things that is hard to survive on as a business.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon after doing the farmers market. I scarfed the Hawaii 5 – 0. Pretty amazing. The meal deal is definitely the way to go. They even have Ski! For those of you not familiar with this elixir… its local mountain dew… but BETTER! Its a small place, but on a nice day they have a few outside tables. The only thing I would change was cook up the bacon bits, to give a little crunch to the dog… but that’s it. Nutshell: lots of choices, average pricing, nice little pitstop for lunch.

After a long bike ride we decided to stop in for some hot dogs, but what we didn’t realize was that these aren’t just any dog in a bun, these wieners were big, bold, and flavorful! We tried an original chili dog, a special dog they were having which was a loaded baked potato dog and then we couldn’t resist a Mac and cheese bowl! I felt like I had just hit the jack pot when I tasted the first bite of my dog, but then I took a bite of the Mac and cheese and I had won the lottery with that! I would highly recommend trying a Mac and cheese bowl! The workers are friendly, they also deliver and I would take my kiddos there any day! Great experience!

If you’re a serious hotdog fanatic, this restaurant will likely excite you, as it’s obviously about hotdogs(my daughter enjoyed the Mac and Cheese hotdog). I’m not a huge fanatic, but like them, so I got the regular hotdog. It was fine, fairly basic tasting, nothing outrageously delicious, nor was the atmosphere anything to write home about. It was just, fine.

The staff are awesome, Steve is awesome, and the food is definitely AWESOME! If you’re wanting a TRUE gourmet dog on a fresh baked roll, this is the place to go. I came in for the first time today and found my self blessed enough to have come in during TIE Fighter week, which is a juicy cooked to perfection dog, topped with tender delicate corned beef. I was even a couple of cents short for my order and the guy at the register covered me out of his own pocket. Talk about some great customer service on top of delicious food. Get out there this week if you can.

I recently had Steve’s Hot Dogs and was not happy with myself. How could I have allowed myself to live two miles away and not tried this stuff before? The dogs were excellent. I had the Bacon Bacon Jamaican and a friend had The Micho, the guys cut the dogs in half so we could try each one. The BBJ had 2 slices of crisp bacon, pepper jack, jerk seasoning, bell peppers and sweet chipotle sauce — Bob Marley would have been proud. No Hot Dog, No Cry. A single hot dog is just the right amount of food, very filling but not overstuffed. I will definitely be back here for lunch.

I’ve been coming here several times, sometimes driving all the way from Glen Carbon just to eat lunch here! I can’t tell you how many punch cards I’ve been through. It’s usually once a month, or every other month I usually come in here and get the 2-dog combo. I used to get the Gorilla Mac & Cheese and the Molotov all the time, but I have since ventured and tried other things. Those two dogs I mentioned are the best place to start, in my opinion. Sometimes they do have exclusive dogs on occasion. Example: Last year they had a dog with chocolate chili on it. No joke. Sounds disgusting, but don’t knock it until you try it! Staff is very friendly, and if you can catch him, Steve, too. Steve’s a great guy, as I knew him before he opened up the place. He’s always talking about either the dogs, his music, or anything pop-culture. Music in the place is awesome as well. My only complaint is there is no public restroom. But that’s how some of those businesses on The Hill are. Best small business restaurant in St. Louis. I hope he plans to open more locations in the future.

My second visit was today after the London Tea Room. Great place in an awesome neighborhood. There are about 10 – 15 different combination of hotdogs here. Tasty dogs. Too bad I forgot use my Unilocal check in for a buck off. Next time.
