Steven Becker Fine Dining

Took a bus tour there, had a sample chocolate feast. It was awesome, tried to book 2 events and was told I WAS NOT THE KIND OF PEOPLE THEY WERE LOOKING FOR. Very rude, dangerous parking in dark garage. Beautiful place inside? Confused by their attitude, almost comical that they would be so picky for business in this day and age. Being in the CITY they need to be more open to opportunities. I guess they have enough business they can pick and chose who they want as their customers.??

I attempted to use SBFD to cater an event a few months ago. It was an unmitigated disaster. The catering coordinator lost my order, then the day before the event, she told me I was at the mercy of whatever the chefs were prepared to make the next morning. She disposed of me by telling me to call the kitchen early the next morning and see if anything could be salvaged. The manager, although friendly, said the chefs only had enough ingredients to make a small portion of my total order. I spent a long, frantic morning and a lot of money to get food to my event.

Had the chance to attend an event catered by Steven Becker Fine Dining at their Coronado Ballroom location (their prime event space I believe.).
Things I liked:
1. The ballroom is really pretty! All golden and shiny!
2. There is a ballroom manager and an event manager. They’re both really on the ball and will pretty much find anything you need/​fix any problems.
3. The appetizers were really cute and tasty.
Tiny apple tartlet with cheddar cheese was especially delicious! Also really liked the endive and goat cheese (I think) passed appetizer.
4. Meal was above average for catered food at such a large event and they had TONS of desserts.
Things I did not like:
1. Really expensive. I know how much they paid for the event, and it’s pretty steep.
2. The desserts looked pretty and were plentiful, but not all of them were that good. Tried a few and the bite sized cakes were a little dry. Overall they looked a little better than they actually tasted.
Great catering option if you have the dough (pun totally intended)!
