If the library doesn’t have it, then I don’t know who will! The location of this branch is great and in the heart of Oakville. I can easily stop there on my way to and from the gym, errands, whatever it might be. The staff is very helpful and are there for whatever you might need. I’ve actually found that the library is faster at getting new releases in than Netflix is nowadays. So if you use the library’s online account access, you can request movies and they will notify you when the movie you’d like is in. Otherwise browse their selection each time you go there, you’re sure to find something. Just make sure that you remember to unlock the video or you will have a problem when you get home. They have ample computers, ample sitting spots and ample areas for their teen readers. Great location, great staff, great place!

We all know I love libraries. We all know that I love book sales too. A library book sale? I’m all over it. I’ve driven by this Cliff Cave branch numerous times, but hadn’t gone in before this weekend. It’s actually in a pretty busy locale, on Telegraph in South County, mere minutes away from South County Mall and I255. They were having a book sale this past Friday and Saturday with most books 50 cents to $ 1. Recent new fiction was $ 2, and trade paperbacks(think Harlequins) were a mere 25 cents. And for the last two hours, it was $ 5 for whatever you could cram into a grocery store bag. So why not five stars? *The lighting in the library is horrible. Some parts it’s greenish-tinged and some parts it’s really dull lighting. I feel like a library should have either lots of natural light or lighting that’s a lot easier on the eyes. *I’m usually a lot more concise and specific with prices, but while I was there, the cashiers were switching out… and apparently switching out also meant switching prices. The total I had in my head was less than the total that she gave me… but it was only a few bucks, so I didn’t even feel like arguing. I still can’t figure it out… and I’m pretty good with algebra still, but maybe this is like differential calculus. *The book sale was not as organized as others I’ve been to. They basically had three categories: Kids, Adult Non-Fiction, Adult Fiction. Have at it. And the selection wasn’t as good as other book sales. More kids nonfiction than fiction. Lots of adult fiction from authors I’d never heard of. No cookbooks or crafting books of any kind to be found. Still, a helpful locale should I ever feel the need to stop back inside.

I haven’t been to a lot of public libraries in St. Louis, but I’ve been to Cliff Cave several times. I always find what I need, the folks behind the counter are helpful and friendly. You’ll find drop off slots outside the building to return books, videos or other items 24⁄7. No reason to ever have a late fee.
