I’m new to Dr Simokaitis but I will never go anywhere else for dental work! I had been in the market for a new dentist since moving to St. Louis in the fall and unfortunately had a few unpleasant experiences before finding Dr Simokaitis’ office. I will admit that, at first, it was fairly difficult to schedule an appointment — I have since discovered their office, and thus staff, is quite small so you kind of have to make sure you are calling at the right time of day to get ahold of someone. But once I was scheduled, everything was great thereafter — the staff and Dr Simokaitis are incredibly friendly and treat you like family. What I love most is how they take the time to explain exactly what they are doing and make sure to give you options for treatment — what needs to be done soon vs what can wait — which for me is huge because in my experience most doctors tend to do things that may not be necessary just to make an extra buck. This office is not like that at all — I come in and leave feeling well taken care of. Dr Simokaitis is very fast and efficient but takes the time to make sure you are comfortable — I certainly don’t feel like I am just another patient. I highly recommend Dr Simokaitis and his staff — they’re wonderful!

I have been going to Dr. Simokaitis for years now and I am always pleased with him and his staff. I’ve never had a cavity in my adult teeth(knock wood, and yes, I know you’re jealous) and I credit Dr. Simokaitis and his wonderful assistants with giving me the sort of «real talk» that I need to keep my dental hygiene in check and prevent such evil tooth problems. For example: When I was in my late teens, the assistant said to me «Cate, you have some early signs of gingivitis.» I freaked out, saying«MAISNON! What can I do!!!» Said she: «Just make sure you floss regularly and it’ll be fine, it will go away and not come back with regular flossing.» There was no judgement, she seemed genuinely concerned that I NOT get gingivitis, so I actually did start flossing. That may seem silly, but I really think the positive vibes/reinforcement in this office lead me to care more about my teeth, and not just hate the dentist. Like Allison, Dr. Simokaitis referred me to Dr. Bedrock to have my wisdom teeth removed. That whole surgery sucks any way you slice it, but Dr. Bedrock was indeed a wonderful and caring oral surgeon, just like Dr. Simokaitis is a wonderful and caring dentist. Last time I was in, he was like«How’s your mom? Is she still living on – hold on, I know this–(name of my parent’s street)?» I know that, most likely, he totally had just looked at my mom’s file, but it’s the fact that he even cares enough to make conversation like this that makes Dr. Simokaitis so great.

I don’t ever want to go anywhere else for dental work. Like, ever. Dr. Simokaitis is amazing. I began seeing him in the mid-2000s because of a coworker’s recommendation. I went only for cleanings at first, but I eventually graduated to fillings and a crown. I’m a squirmy person when it comes to anything remotely medical, and doctor’s and dentist’s offices freak me out a bit. Dr. Simokaitis and his assistants are quite calming. They explain exactly what they’re going to do, and they’ll wait patiently and chat about random stuff for a little bit until I’m ready for the drill. When I needed fillings and a crown, Dr. Simokaitis was very up-front about my options — what I needed to do immediately and what I could wait a bit more on. I appreciate that he understands the financial burden and the sick/vacation days that can accompany dental work and that he doesn’t try to push me into unnecessary procedures just to make a buck. When doling out advice, he always says, «Allison, if you were my sister, here’s what I’d recommend…» And when it comes time for those scary procedures, he made them as comfortable as they could be and and didn’t belittle my fear or low pain tolerance. Dr. Simokaitis definitely is not the type of dentist that Steve Martin played in «Little Shop of Horrors!» Dr. Simokaitis was the one who recommended that I go to Dr. Bedrock when I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed, and that went very well. If you need a wonderfully pleasant and trustworthy dentist in the city, Dr. Simokaitis definitely is your man.
