This dog park is on the smaller side, but the people are friendly and watch their dogs while they play. I can see this park being a great place to meet other dog owners and to develop a community. The park itself is well kept and has space for the dogs to run around, to cool off in the pool, and drink water. I wish there was more open grass rather than dirt because my dog gets super dirty after the visit, but I think all in all, its a quaint, neighborhood spot.

Not the best dog park in the city, but RFT did list this as the number one place to meet single men back in 2011 — haha. It is members only and membership is $ 25/yr for one dog with the amount per dog decreasing starting at 2 dogs(up to three) There are benches, it’s locked, and it does always seem to be kept up. However, this is a small dog park on the corner of Cleveland and Thurman in the Shaw neighborhood… It doesn’t have a lot of the same features as bigger dog parks… For instance, for«water» they have a spigot and plastic kiddie pools. Definitely not top notch, but the membership fees are only $ 25/year so what can you really expect? A bonus though? I rarely run into other people there. Funny in context of that RFT ranking… But my dog is spirited, so this works out well.
