Had a chance to grab more Kolache and they were awesome. The staff is friendly and the product is definitely better when heated 15 – 20 seconds in the microwave. This time I had the sausage/egg/cheese(AMAZING), pizza(good standby), and the lemon with blueberry(AMAZING). My current fav is the sausage/egg/cheese. It had a good combo of ingredients, was delicious, and perfect size for breakfast. The roll is sweet and adds to the awesomeness of the product. The lemon with blueberry is my favorite sweet option. I enjoy all things lemon, and this was delicious and not too sweet. True lemon flavor(vs the fake lemon taste). I will need to make this a more regular stop as they had a ton of options when they opeend(overwhelming to have to choose a few) and they were delicious!

THISPLACE. It’s difficult to put into words how much I loved my visit, because I quickly descend into screaming and grabby hands. I never want to stop cramming these kolaches into my facehole. The service was friendly, cheerful, and patient even while we had startling difficulty deciding which kolaches we wanted. We took advantage of a billboard ad nearby offering a free fruit kolache, and they let everyone in our party have one. We got a variety of savory kolaches, including the sausage egg and cheese, smoked salmon, Sriracha, and spinach and mushroom, and there wasn’t a non-incredible one in the bunch. Absolutely flawless performance, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about those perfect little treats. [editor’s note: the rest of this review was only needful whimpering.]

When I lived in TX, kolaches were«the thing». I was excited when I found this place and haven’t been disappointed. I haven’t found a kolache here that wasn’t made to near perfection, as cheesy as that sounds. Unusually, I order a dozen and take them home, put them in the freezer, and reheat them over time, as it’s not exactly close to my house to go buy a fresh one. They are still almost as good as being fresh. If you’ve never had a kolache before, you’re going to want to check this place out.

Been here several times. I got two picky kids and its one of the few places they can BOTH agree on. I personally like: The Philly Cheesesteak and the Mac and Cheese ones. My kids enjoy the pizza ones and the sausage egg and cheese ones. Eat there or get em to go. Just pop ‘em in the microwave for about 20 seconds and they are good to go.

I didn’t even know what a kolache was. It’s sort of like a sweet bagel. With that being said and after passing a billboard on Lindbergh and Page informing me of a buy one get one free kalache deal for mentioning this sign I most certainly had to give this place a try. Unfortunately, on my first try I arrived close to closing time –they close at 2 pm– so my selection was pretty much limited to dessert kolaches. I tried the cherry cheese kolache which had little of either and the Elvis kolache which was a combination of chocolate, peanut butter and banana. This kolache was outstanding. I promised myself to return next time by 2pm. A week later I arrived at one and they were almost out of everything again.(it was a Saturday). I did manage to try the cheese steak kalache and the salmon kolache. The salmon kolache had a large chunk of smoked salmon, capers and cream cheese. A little salty but overall not bad. The cheese steak kolace, on the other hand, excellent. Thinly cut steak with sliced peppers and onions and filled with provel cheese. I even had them heat it up so that I could eat it in my car. Not really messy either. The restaurant does have a few chairs for inside dining. To finish things off I opted for a apricot kolache for my freebee. Not bad. They have a large assortment of kolaches that I need to try next time including: bacon cheeseburger, chicken club, bacon, egg and cheese. I shall return. Maybe even before noon.

I am addicted to this place! So many great options for breakfast or lunch. Staff are super friendly and patient. My favorite breakfast item is the chorizo, egg, jalapeño and cheese; favorite lunch item is Philly or the buffalo chicken one. They are filling and easy to eat and drive with. They close by 2pm so the selection can be small since the morning rush can get busy. They make them fresh everyday which is a huge plus!

Was so excited to try this place, because they had so many options and I love kolaches! But sadly there isn’t much besides dessert treats in this place for a hungry vegetarian

Tasty and convenient for breakfast or lunch. The sweet yeast bread is delicious. And, I do mean delicious. It’s pretty much a dinner roll with stuffing. Choose sweet or savory and breakfast or lunch. There are a variety of fillings for each. Hubby ordered a sausage and gravy, and meatball. The sausage and gravy was his favorite of the two. The meatball kolache could have used more sauce inside. Or, perhaps a side of sauce. The reuben had corned beef and sauerkraut inside. The corned beef was on the juicy side, possibly due to the sauerkraut. Delicious. The Chorizo, egg and cheese was very good. Not as spicy as I thought it might be but it was definitely packed with flavor. They have been open since October 2015 and are the only other place to get kolache besides the Kolache Factory chain a few miles away. Service was excellent. The owner and employees were helpful and informative. No Czech roots in the ownership but tasty, convenient and portable kolache. Oh yeah.

Saw this place on my Unilocal feed, and wanted to try it out. Inside is like a mix of Kaldi’s and Dunkin Donuts. Very nice baked goods smell once you come in. You can order sweet and savory fillings on your Kolache. The Kolache is a sweet roll similar in taste to Hawaiian Rolls but a bit more dense. Very nice grab and go food for picnics or long drives. Our kids loved the mac and cheese kolache. Pros Wide variety of fillings, very nice staff, cozy atmosphere Cons A bit tricky to find Tip Your GPS will find it on Lindbergh Rd, but there is no entrance there. The entrance is actually at Baur Rd opposite of Schuetz.

Average, but then I was raised on kolache and these are not sweet enough for the fruit toppings, and the dough is too much like bread dough and not sweet enough for a pastry dough. They need a different dough than they use for the meat and other filled kolache.

Great local establishment. Definitely more interesting than donuts and many savory and sweet options from which to choose. I had the salmon kolache(okay but not great, not the best salmon) and the cherry/almond(much tastier). I am writing this review from the place itself so will likelt have to try at least one more, maybe the chocolate elvis(nutella, bacon, and banana) or the St Louis Slinger(hamburger, egg, chili, and hashbrowns)

I was not very impressed. The outside was just a sugary bun and the Nutella was waaaay too sweet.

I’ve tried the sweet pastries and the savory ones. Both are very good, jalapeño and cream cheese was my favorite. It can definitely be pricey, but very good!

I’ve been here twice and had both savory and sweet options. I like the savory ones the most and think the taste is amazing when they are heated/warm. For sweet I had the blueberry and Elvis. They were cold and I thought they were ok. It didn’t convince me to quickly return. I think if I had them warm my opinion would have been different. They are good and the nice thing is not too sweet like a donut or Danish. The dough was tasty, lightly sweet. For savory I had the pizza, egg/sausage/cheese, Reuben, sausage and gravy. The first two I had cold and they were ok. I had the last two warm and they were amazing. The flavor of the Reuben was amazing and the warm outer dough, slightly sweet made me want to return and get an entire box of Reuben’s. The sausage and gravy was also good, but lots of gravy so be ready for that. Had a box of sweet and a box of savory and the savory went first. They mark the lid with the flavors so you can keep track. I look forward to returning for more savory balls of deliciousness.

The glow of the neon«breakfast» sign has been calling to me every day as I pass Saint Louis Kolache on my way to work. Today and I forgot my breakfast, so naturally, I swung ‘er in to see what this is all about. I have to say, I enjoyed my kolache(s) way more than anticipated! What I didn’t know is that a kolache is a sweet bun that is made with both savory and sweet options. The savory were stuffed in the middle, the sweet items were on top. I tried one savory — bacon, egg and cheese, and one sweet — sour cherry cream cheese. They were both delicious, but I found that I liked the sweet much better. It almost tasted like a cheesecake sitting on top of a sweet bun. I want to go back and try a ton more flavors like blueberry, Bavarian cream, chocolate Elvis. Oh, and they serve Kaldi’s coffee. Niiiice!

I’ve been meaning to visit this place for a long time and I finally did. I dropped in at lunch and had the amazing pastrami kolache. The kolache was chock full of pastrami and had a hint of Dijon mustard and cheese. The lady at the counter warmed it up for me and provided info on their other kolaches including breakfast and sweet ones. Planning to order several dozen over the Holiday while I have visitors in from out of town. The following morning, I reheated a chorizo and egg one that was good even as a reheat. Highly recommend. I’d been missing kolaches since I moved from Houston. This is the first kolache place I’ve seen in the St. Louis area since my move. Pay them a visit for breakfast or lunch, you won’t be disappointed ;)

While I have never had a kolache before now, these are very tasty! They have a lot of savory carnivorous options and only a few veggie options. The lady behind the counter was very nice, and while I hadn’t made any comments about the lack of vegetarian options she caught on that I was vegetarian(and states she was as well) and that she was working on getting down more choices up for us veggie people. I had the Egg&Cheese, Spinach, Mushroom w/Pesto, and a Bavarian Cream filled kolache for under $ 8. All were very tasty, and weren’t messy at all, which was a little bit of a concern. The dough is a sweet soft dough, which I wasn’t expecting, but it wasn’t a bad thing. This place is very close to my school and seeing as they are pre-made, makes for a quick relatively cheap lunch. I will be returning.

Best Kolache’s in St. Louis! I used to frequent Kolache Factory in St. Louis on the weekends for brunch… but I have a new favorite. First of all, the interior of St. Louis Kolache is clean, modern, and nice(especially in comparison to Kolache Factory…). The service is great! The staff is super friendly and quick at placing your order. Although I’ve never used this feature(yet), you can order Kolaches online! I could see this being useful, especially if you concerned about beating the morning rush and your favorite kolache selling out. Kaldi’s coffee is also served here… another bonus when compared to the coffee served at Kolache Factory. This location is a bit more of a drive for me, but totally worth it in my opinion. Can’t wait to visit again!

When I read the announcement of Saint Louis Kolache in Creve Coeur, I put it on my bucket list. After tasting the wares, its off my bucket list and off any other list. To be clear, I only tried items from the Sweet list. The pastry itself is dense and slightly sweeter than a dinner roll. The fruit topping was not of any distinctive quality. It was your typical canned filling like you would buy from the grocery store. While the pastry was not special nor was the toppings, the price was special. The kolache were double the popular price for a donut or bagel. For me, I’ll stick to some of my favorite bakeries for donuts and danish.

I have passed this place every day as it was under construction and finally saw it open today. I bought a dozen from the sweet menu to take to the office and they were DELICIOUS! I only tried the apple with brown sugar myself but my co-workers enjoyed the other flavors. I also got a ham and cheese and it was very good and filling. The dough is just uniquely flavored. Yum! Give it a try!!!

Cheap(~2 per kolache), the dough is delicious, very filling treat. I’ve never had kolache before so I’m really excited about this place. So far I have tried the cherry cream, blueberry, cream cheese, spinach/mushroom/pesto, and the St. Louis slinger. Spinach and mushroom was delicious, as were all of the sweet varieties. I especially recommend the cherry cream cheese. The only ingredient that didn’t work for me was the eggs, probably because I went at lunchtime and reheated eggs can only do so well. I recommend going for breakfast — much of their menu sells out by lunch!

I stopped at St. Louis Kolache today because I was in the area. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese Kolache and a NY pizza Kolache. I felt like the savory ones were much more appealing than the sweet ones. The dough is very good. It’s heavy enough to hold the filling but still tasted slightly flaky. Of the two the NY pizza Kolache was far superior to the bacon egg and cheese. The filling on the bacon egg and cheese had little flavor and the bacon was not cooked enough. The NY pizza Kolache was filled with pepperoni and sausage and tasted great. I’m sure I will be back to sample other flavors.

I have just been to STL Kolache, and it was AWESOME! Yesterday, after reading this: I went to there as soon as I could, and found out that they weren’t yet open. :( I *DID* get to meet one of the owners, and he was very nice. He told me to come back today(6 Okt) and that they would be giving away samples of their products for free. I didn’t really care if I had to pay or not, I wanted me some good kolache! I saw that they had the proper stand mixers and equipment, so I was excitedly looking forward to coming back. I WASNOTDISAPPOINTED!!! We got there a little after 0600, which is when they open, and they had all the types of Kolache available: FRUIT — apricot, cream cheese, cream cheese with cherry, apple, cherry with the proper almond slivers, etc. SAVORY — cheese-steak, brat, smoked salmon, etc BREAKFAST — they have egg, sausage & cheese; sausage and cheese; sausage gravey, etc. I had one cream cheese, one bratwurst, and one of the egg scramble, sausage and cheese breakfast buns. I ate one half of each of the bratwurst and egg scramble and shared the other half with my husband, so that we could sampel different ones. They are very filling, and taste very good. He had the Cheese-Steak bun, and it was very tasty. I saved most of my cream cheese for this afternoon, so I can have it with either tea or kaffee, because that is how I love having my pastries!!! :) The pastry is PERFECT! They use the correct flour, which many Americans don’t understand is «a thing» when baking Central and Eastern European pastries, kakes, and cookies! But it is! If you don’t use the good flour, it will turn out pasty, gross, and of the wrong texture! But this is perfect: it has the correct taste, texture, density, amount of air within the pastry, and is delectible. It is neither too heavy nor too light. The fillings are the perfect compliment and are just wonderful. The filled bun types are also perfect with neither too much or too little of either fillings or bun. They are baked perfectly and have the exact taste I have been craving and dreaming of! I will say that these are wonderful Kolaches and I am so happy that they are open now in Creve Coeur, as I am looking forward to many many happy mornings where I enjoy their wonderful pastries and buns! I also would like to say that these pastries are wonderful and that they take me back to my childhood with my grandparents and father, and that I am honored to eat here as it helps me connect with a happy time and place through a wonderful food. TLDR: If you like Kolaches, then this is the place for you! If you have NOT tried Kolaches before, and don’t know if you will like them or not, then this is also a good place because these are GREATKOLACHES and are a good example of the food FORREFERENCEOFFOODNOOBS: if you like these, you like Kolaches, and if you don’t then Kolaches are not your thing. (I always like knowing if I am getting a good representative sample of a new thing, so I know if I really like it or not, and this is a very, very good, authentic sample!)
