After driving all day I was happy to NOT go anywhere for dinner. Food and drinks were good, service was personable and helpful, not a lot of healthy options, but there are a few salads and the hummus plate was very good. Drinks were a little weak, but sufficient for the evening. Not a place for intimate conversation — sound echoes in the restaurant and having the bar and live music across the lobby made hearing quiet voices difficult.

Typical hotel restaurant. Food okay but overpriced. If you’re really hungry & don’t want to go out it’s okay but expect to pay too much. I had the turkey burger which tasted fine but bun was soggy. Sweet potatoe fries were the same way. I’d have given it three stars if the prices weren’t too high.

Basic hotel grill. Good service. It’ll be fine if you need to get something to eat and don’t feel like leaving the hotel.

Waitress was great, Karen I believe. Tomato Bisq was incredible, chicken Caesar salad left a lot to be desired, not much chicken, and it was hidden at the bottom of the salad… Weird. Used to be grilled and laid on top. Way better… IMHO. Also bring back the famous Lobster Mac and cheese! The original, not the pinwheel imitation stuff. Overall great atmosphere, friendly staff but food selection and quality has definitely gone south. Lots of folks i know now go next door to BBQ place. New management??? Fix it and they will come back! BTW… what happened to the Prime Rib???

Rock River Grill & Tavern is the restaurant in the Airport Marriott, and as hotel restaurants go, it’s a winner. Staff were quick and friendly, décor was nice, and the food was tasty. I particularly recommend the lobster mac & cheese, made with bow-tie pasta and lots of large chunks of real lobster claw meat. It made a perfect light dinner, as did the toasted portabello ravioli my mom had; both are on the appetizer menu for $ 10. Most entrees range from $ 21-$ 28, and there’s a prix fixe menu for $ 28 that looked good. For breakfast, the buffet is the way to go. They have the basic eggs, sausage, etc. but include a friendly chef whipping up custom omelettes and waffles, and both grits and biscuits with a pretty good sausage gravy; juice and coffee are included, all for $ 15. The Tavern serves all the same food, has 8 beers on tap, and shows sports on half a dozen large screens.
