First off the waitress Ashley was fantastic. She obtained our drinks fast and then apologized because it would be a little bit until she would take our order due to the food being ready for a very large party next to us. She promptly served the large order and immediately came to us. We ordered salad and pizza. She brought the salad right out and it was good. The pizza gets 2 thumbs up from my Italian wife. This crust was just right.

I love Rich & Charlie’s. I didn’t like what I ordered tonight though. I should stick to my regulars. That said the service was really exceptional. The waitress’ name was Christina. You can tell she cares about what she does. It’s very refreshing for a change. I’m taking off one star for the food(BLT Pasta?). I should have gone with Pasta Con Broccoli. Oh well, I’ll be back.

This is a family favorite and tradition. I’ve been eating here since the late 80s with my family. Every time I come back to St. Louis this is a must stop. I highly recommend signature salad, cheese garlic bread, pasta con broccoli, & shrimp linguine. Everything about this place is fantastic.

I absolutely love this place. It is most definitely NOT just for pizza. My favorite dish is a pasta and everyone I come with loves the salad and bread. We have been several times and have had excellent service. The food and service are consistent and the beer selection is very unexpectedly nice. I love to sit outside on the patio, too.

I have been going to this restaurant for years and it has always been a bit above average, until now. Today we ordered chicken mudega and tomato basil soup. The prep time was really long. The food eventually got to our table and it was strange. The chicken was okay but certainly not as good as in the past. The soup was served with the consistency of tomato paste! My wife took a spoonful out of the bowl and it left a depression behind that remained. Soup should be soupy. While we waited for our food another diner was served her entrée and she complained that it had no mushrooms in it. It was amateur night at Rich and Charlie’s today. We got an apology from the manager but it wasn’t very convincing. We are not going back, we have a Pasta House close by.

Just OK. We came here on a whim(just happened to be in the immediate area and were hungry) so we went in. I hadn’t been here in probably 25 years. Everything we ordered was average to a bit below. The salad was the same as it was 25 years ago, except for the fact that it was drenched in salad dressing. The wings were OK, I guess, not a lot of flavor, certainly not hot as advertised. The BF had the toasted raviolis, cheese garlic bread and some kind of Alfredo dinner and said they were OK. The waitress was friendly and likeable and did a good job. I thought the prices were fair, the atmosphere was fine, I just wish the food had been a little better.

We have been going here since I was a kid. Love the salad and bread. The Chicken Emil is great. Good budget Italian. My husband and I like to go here on date nights and to the cheap theater across the street. Good budget date night

By far the worst lasagna I’ve had in my life. Comparable to frozen food section lasagna with mushy noodles. Advised server and manager who offered another meal but I respectfully declined given opinion of meals by others in group. My wife and son had chicken parm which they felt lacked flavor. Friend had ravioli which he enjoyed. Mom had salad with chicken which she enjoyed. No side dish with my lasagna. All meals came with bread which was good. We will not return to eat here.

Had the chicken parm… Was not impressed… We had a group of 7 n I think only one truly enjoyed their dinner(chicken salad). Everyone else was«underwhelmed» or completely disappointed… First time here and will not be going back… For better/cheaper food go Accross the street to the other Italian place. You’d be underwhelmed there but not disappointed. The two starts they get for their very attentive service. Otherwise it would’ve been one of my rare 1 star… as I deserve those for the truly un edible… Their bread was also amazing.

Probably my favorite casual Italian place, but needs some work to be better. Just went on 5÷11÷14 for dinner again. First of all we always sit in a bar booth, which is nice for our family. I like the atmosphere and they have TVs and they still have the old black bear(but boy is he aging). The service is great most of the time, but tonight the bartender was taking care of our table and the bar. She was pretty busy and tried to keep up with us, but had a lot of drink orders and other stuff to attend to. But most other times we have great service. CAUTION: The seats to the bar booths directly in front of the are broken and loose, they move and you can fall. They have been broken for over a year, can’t believe no one cares about this. The food here is always the best, My favorite is the lasagna, but I have tried the chicken entrees too. Last night I went for the Salmon, which was awesome. My wife always gets the chicken Parmesan, and loves it every time. For dessert we had the cannoli, my wife killed it. I really like the food here, and the prices are great, I just think the management needs to tune the place up. They need to pay more attention to details, train a little better.

Good place to go for casual Italian. The linguini with clams and the pasta carbonara are great choices. Also the pesce and chicken Emil are good entrée choices.

I love Rich & Charlie’s and I truly feel this is the best Italian restaurant in South County at least, dare I say… in all of St. Louis. I’ve been going here for so many years. I love so many things on the menu its hard to pick 1 thing. The pasta con broccoli is amazing, so is their salad which is so good! Service is pretty good still too. I love that they added on and expanded the restaurant a couple years back, the new bar looks really nice too. I am kind of partial to this place. They can get pretty busy on some nights but the wait is worth it I think!

Last night had a dinner date The waitress said she was new I asked her if she had a moscato or Chardonnay She told me to read the wine list Okay got it Strike one Of course we ordered the salad I did soup my date did the chicken wings Im not sure if it was a full grown chicken since the wings were as big as my middle finger From the little bit of meat he had he said the taste was okay The bus people were good about removing our plates But my date and I had finished eating and I was drinking the last if my wine The manager started cleaning off our table got offended that we wanted to finish our drinks FYI there was no one waiting for a table Hmmm two strikes I will take me awhile to go back

Paige, our waitress, did a good job. Amy had linguine w/asparagus, Lynette had Tuscany shrimp, Bill & I had Italian beef sandwiches. The pasta dishes were good. The sandwiches were weak. The tea was weak. THe apps were good. First time. Felt like eating in a bar more than a restaurant. Tight. Eh, at least the company was great. Maybe next time it will b better. I will never order the Italian beef again.

We live pretty close to Rich and Charlies, but we’re far from regulars. We went for lunche the other day, and it was our first visit in probably eight years. In a nutshell, hey do a nice job with the cream sauce, but neither of us like the red sauce at all — too sweet. For this visit, I had Pasta con Broccoli and a house salad. The house salad is pretty renouned in these parts. I seem to recall it was pretty disappointing last time, but this time, they got it right. At $ 4.50, it was pretty pricey though, especially when compared to the reasonably priced meals. The Pasta con Broccoli was excellent. It’s a pretty rare occasion when we get cream sauce, but this dish was really good. Our little one got pizza, it was not very good. Cardboardy thin crust, Provel, I suggest you find a different place for your STL style pizza. If you don’t like STL style, I can about guarantee you’ll be disappointed. So two and a half stars, I guess. The $ 10 dinner meai is really a pretty good deal — definitely go for the cream sauce.

Tried Rich And Charlies for the first time tonight. The Staff were awesome! Friendly, polite and charming! Unfortunately the food was awful! I ordered the Shrimp and Chicken«Feast». 6 tiny cocktail shrimp(frozen not fresh) buried, like mystery treasure, in a gooey slop of rice and canned tomato sauce, which the waiter had the audacity to call risotto, and a chicken breast(dryer than the Sonora desert in August) smothered with some kind of rubbery cheese-like substance, does not qualify as a «Feast!» My wife ordered the Pasta con Broccoli which tasted like… well flour and not much else! I’m a pasty, white Anglo-Saxon from England and I can can cook better Italian food than that! I have to agree with Margie V. I think the good reviews come from locals who haven’t been lucky enough to taste authentic Italian food!

Most of the favorable reviews on this site seem to be by Saint Louis natives who were brought up eating at this place. They have been pallette washed into thinking this stuff tastes good. It is like dining in cave. A Provel cave. Dark and dreary. The place truly needs a make-over. I ordered a Pepperoni Pizza. Lucky I had the fortitude to jump up out of the booth and chase the waitress to the kitchen and inquire if Provel was their cheese of choice. She confirmed and quickly made the change to Mozzerella to my order. Whew, that was close. I was served a small house salad with bread. My coffee cup sat empty for nearly a half hour. It was weak brown water for $ 2.79. The Pizza was served on a pizza pan that I am sure was an original, and been through years of workers playing frisbee out in the parking lot during down time. It was so thrashed and bent up. I ate one piece of the pizza and decided to pack it up and pawn it off on my son. He is not quite as nit-picky as his mother. The gal waiting on me was very nice but I cringed every time she call me *Honey* or *Hun* Perhaps, I just need more therapy.
