We went here to pick up an order. The Caucasian sales clerk did not wrap my fiancé lanterns in newspaper and she asked the other clerk if it was paid for. This made my fiancé very angry I would think it would not get wrapped if it was not paid for. This was on Sunday April 26th at 230pm. The worst service we have experienced.

I went to look at kitchen chairs. Found one I liked at the store in The Bottoms, but didn’t get much in the way of customer service. So I came to this store, and was greeted immediately, and offered a basket. .. until I said I was looking for chairs. She laughed and said, «Well, then I guess you won’t be needing a basket.» That was a fun exchange. So I found the chair I’d espied at the store in The Bottoms, got a recommendation for color, switched it up a bit and ended up taking one chair home, one chair to pick up at the store in The Bottoms, and three chairs on order to come in December 3. That worked. I got a discount, a Pier 1 credit card and extra savings coupons with the credit card mailing. And, indeed, the chairs came in December 3. I got a call that they were in, and it all transpired seamlessly.

Pier 1? More like Pier 2 or 3.(Whatever that means.) The décor didn’t even talk to me… what a disappointment.

The store has went downhill in quality and style but up in price. Their décor is a hit and a miss, depending on the season and on what corporate decides to put out, it’s a carp-shoot. It’s eclectic, traditional modern, etc., but not in the best way. It’s like they’re trying to please everybody, without a real focus. Most furniture stores have a focus. Pier 1, in my opinion, is kind of is less focused. But you can find deals if you shop at the right time. Sometimes you’ll find great stuff, sometimes not. Customer service is outstanding though.

This store sells some adorable house stuff and is a good place to go to pick up a housewarming gift. One of my favorite gifts to give are these stemless wine glasses with a chalkboard patch on them. I think they are no more than a few dollars a piece, and you can buy as few or as many as you want! They are always a big hit… and it is kind of nice knowing which glass is who’s at a party. For everyday house things and décor, they are a bit pricey. I came in looking for some coasters and spent $ 20 on a set of 4. WAY overpriced but they were too beautiful to resist. I was also on the hunt for a large serving tray that I can place on my ottoman to convert into a coffee table. I have checked multiple stores and online, and was surprised to find it on my first try at Pier 1. If for whatever strange reason you too need a serving tray, this is the place for it. They have tons of them.

I will echo everything that Jenny A said, as I was with her during that recent experience. I’m not a huge fan of Pier-1 in terms of their overall product line, but they do have some good stuff. We have a nice set of pasta dishes that we couldn’t seem to find something of that size anywhere else. We also have a nice set of margarita glasses and pitcher that I bought from there. There are a few more items that we might check out from there over time once we have a bigger place and are in the need for more furniture, but in mean time I love the friendly service at this location and will definitely be back.

The merchandise at Pier 1 isn’t always to my tastes, so I’ll hold off on a 5-star rating, but my experience in this store a few weeks ago was pretty awesome. A few months ago, I bought a set of four pasta plates(side note: Pier 1 is one of the only stores that makes a perfectly-sized pasta dish that’s dishwasher– and microwave-safe) and decided that I really enjoyed them and wanted to buy four more. Turns out, this store was out of them. Bummer, right? I decided to ask one of the staff members(Jo) if there were any more plates from that series. Long story short, the plates were totally gone, so I thanked Jo for her help and said that I’d call around to other local Pier 1 stores in case they had any left. This is the above and beyond part: I ended up buying something else, and while Jo was packing it into a bag, she tucked a few post-it notes inside. When I got home, I realized that she had written down the phone numbers for all of the Pier 1 stores in a 50-mile radius. I was absolutely impressed, and will definitely shop at this location again.
