My absolute favorite local restaurant! Great service, great wine, and amazing menu. So very sad to see them closing.

Well… how to approach this. I want to note that the staff is passionate and attentive, the menu is interesting and new, and the prices reasonable. I do think that in another setting, it could be a really enjoyable place, but it just wasn’t our thing. We came in for a glass of wine, to look, to try. We were greeted and told that there was room at the bar… great. The staff was all friendly and busy. They were all about the customer, which is harder to find these days. Well done. The menu looks like it could easily fit at a restaurant that is much more expensive. The chef has put some thought into it, and I applaud him. He was walking the floor checking on his customers, good for him. I can only comment on the antipasto, which was fine, but not exciting. The interior was, how should I put this… awkward. It is one open room with a small bar. It does not feel like a restaurant, it feels like a store. The music was awkward, the noise level was off, the space… well, you tell me whats wrong with it. I just couldn’t get comfortable there. I wanted to leave, even though they were pleasant and my wine was fine. My wife felt the same way. If they ever move to a more comfortable location(currently in a strip mall), I would gladly come back. But I want to go someplace that is warm and comfortable. and this was not it. I want to support local businesses, so this is really hard for me. I think in any other location, this could easily be 4 stars. I cannot comment on the entrees, but they looked wonderful. Most bottles on the list are $ 35 or less. I wish them luck.

I love the warm lighting and intimate atmosphere we’ve experienced all three times we’ve gone. The food, service and wine have always been fantastic as well. Between us we’ve tried the crispy duck breast, lamb chops, my personal fave the bacon artichoke flatbread, the cilantro grilled shrimp and a few different desserts. On our first trip they were still offering mini desserts(the passionfruit cheesecake was awesome) but have since switched over to a few fullsize desserts. Most recently we ordered an insanely rich and delicious dark chocolate amaretto cake with chocolate ganache and brandied cherries. I just received a birthday email from them for $ 20 off my entrée so I think we’ll probably be back soon. The only thing that worries me is they’ve never been busy when we go there. Even on Saturday evening at 8pm there were plenty of open tables. I worry that being in the Colonade shopping center isn’t really helping their business. Not having to endure a packed restaurant is definitely nice but I would hate to see them close.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was very good, drinks were tasty and the service was excellent. The only complaint I have is that when they say the desserts are«mini,» they weren’t kidding. It left me wanting more and was pretty overpriced for such a small serving. Otherwise-a great experience and I would go back. I just will go somewhere else for dessert.

So, my wife and I went to Pairings last night for dessert following dinner at another restaurant. It was intended to be a sweet end to our Anniversary night out. I’d love to rave about the Passionate Affair cheesecake or Satin & Silk martini that sounded so good, but I can’t. You see, they were closed. According to both Unilocal and their own website, Pairings is open until 10pm. And yet, at 9:40, not only were the doors locked, but the lights were out and everybody was gone. If you’re going set business hours, STICKTOTHEM. How very unprofessional and disappointing. I’ll not soon try again.

Went to Pairing for the first time last night and had a good experience. I order a dessert Trio and Moscato. Both were delicious. The service was very friendly. It is a really cute place and I will define tell go back in the future.

I am SUPER bummed to give Pairings a less than stellar review. Seriously, if it weren’t for a really great waitress(I think her name was Stephanie), this would be a two star review. The general summary falls into the«Could’ve Spent the Same Elsewhere with Better Results». The hubby and I tried Pairings out after having seen the signs for it previously and then jumping on a Groupon to try it out. Let’s just say I was glad to have the Groupon but still feel like we paid a little much. The atmosphere is really nice — it’s small but cozy, lights are dim, very nice but typical wine themed prints on the wall, a bar with a beautiful, oversized basketweave finish. We started with the meat and cheese board which was very yummy. I think wine and cheese boards always seem a little pricey, but that’s how it goes with cheese I suppose. The orange jam was fantastic — it made me think of orange scones which automatically took me to a happy place. And we had a couple of really fun cheeses — a sage cheddar and dill havarti. I seriously will go searching for these cheeses for future red wine pairing opportunities. We paired the board with a red wine and white wine flight since we weren’t really familiar with any of the wines offered. Glad we did that instead of guessing. Out of the 6 wines, we only found one that we thought worthy of even a glass purchase — the Sheridan Cabernet, which I see on the list online but wasn’t on the menu when we were there, so my husband blindly ordered a glass… later to find it was $ 15…for what is probably a $ 30 bottle of wine(google agrees). I know alcohol gets quite a mark up at any restaurant, but yeah. A little steep in comparison to other wine bars in the area I think. I had a glass of a Yalumba Reisling since none of the other wines appealed to me, especially in expectation of my entrée. It was a pretty yummy choice — very fruit forward with hints of tropical varieties! For dinner, he ordered the Stuffed Peppers, and I intended to order the Bacon & Berkshire only to find they were out. :-(Instead, I settled on the Summer Chicken Salad. Both were underwhelming, especially in the protein volume category. I expected more chicken from a $ 12 salad. Pretty sure I get more on some $ 8 Bread Co salad. The candied pecans were delicious, but the salad was underdressed IMO. The Stuffed Peppers also was not great — the pepper seemed undercooked — just slightly seared, and the tomato sauce tasted like something out of a jar. Also lacked a protein punch. Just revisiting here makes me question whether or not they deserve that third star…

What a great place. Only open for two weeks, yet no service or food glitches. Really well thought out wine list, with great by the glass choices. Interesting food of very high quality. Try the lamb! We also designed our own flat bread, which was delicious! Split a great bit sized dessert, as well. Such a great place, this will be on our regular rotation, especially before or after a movie!

The food was delicious and the wine selection was perfect. I’m pretty picky with my wines, and they have a good variety to choose from by the glass as well as bottles. Love the names of the desserts. Went with a group. Had salmon, flatbread, duck, salads, and we were all very pleased. My favorite was the beet carpaccio salad! And I don’t even like beets. Ill be going back again for sure. Try out some of the dessert martinis!
