Great value, barely average non-spicy food, good service. Lamb korma excellent. Butter chicken blah, chicken curry blah+, tandoori blah-. Sag dish very good, veg korma blah, garbanzo dish blah+. Naan good, papadam not crisp. Raita good. Didn’t try the cheese pakora or sweets. Probably won’t be back – Lots of other lunch choices in the area.

The stomach issue was definitely from the buffet despite your accusation to the contrary. I understand it is difficult to keep a buffet 100% safe it is what it is.

Mr. Curry’s is quality Indian food for a great price! This delicious buffet includes both chai and mango lassi, as well as a variety of curries and street food to satisfy both a spicy and sweet tooth.

Went there, for the very first time, to celebrate a birthday. People talk about customer service, a willingness to go the extra mile and I have to say that Bash, the owner, did that and more. It was a genuinely magical time. If you’re looking for world-class décor, this is not the place. If you want stuffy, pretentious, overly glitzy, again, this is not the place. If you want food that transports you emotionally to another place and time, this is the place. The food, my gosh, is amazing. I will go so far as to say that if you desire authenticity in fragrance, seasonings and taste, this is restaurant that you want to visit. Finally, you will note that as of this writing, this is the only review and that’s because one, we don’t really go out all that often and two, more importantly, this experience deserves to be shared. It was truly, in a word, amazing.

Definitely my favorite Indian restaurant I’ve had the pleasure of eating. Tikka masala is the best I’ve had anywhere, the buffet is great for people who have never tried Indian cuisine, and the service is second to none… I highly recommend mr. Curry’s and can’t wait to go back!

This place is so, so good! I went to the $ 9 lunch buffet, and it was stuffed with delicious curries. The butter chicken is amazing. They have a good selection of fried cheese and vegetables. Their naan and garlic naan are both very tasty. Besides the main food, the dessert selection is great, too. They serve mango lassi, rice pudding, and sweet fried donut-like crumbles. They also have some delicious chai tea. This place is definitely so worth it. The only problem was that food would often run out too quickly, but perhaps this was because the place was jam packed when I went. 16,000 hungry college students were across the street for Urbana 2015, so this is understandable.

the $ 9 lunch buffet includes delicious mango lassi and hot chai tea. I was very surprised to find good Indian food in MO! Very tasty, friendly staff. I recommend the chicken curry and kheer.

I am so dissatisfied with how this place has only ONE cashier when there are 30 people lining up for lunch buffet. Cashier is also very very slow!!! Pressing one button at a time. For lunch a lot of people are on time limit and this is management’s lack of customer service

This place has pretty decent food. Not a whole lot of selection but enough to be satisfied. The protein of choice is chicken. They do have a few vegetarian dishes but not many. Thier tika masala is probably thier best dish. Not the best Indian I have ever tried but not the worst.

Solid A-OK here. The food was decent, and the owner/manager/cashier was very nice. From what I hear, they have a rotating menu, so Monday might be different than the next. The selection of foods was pretty big when you take into account that you paid less than $ 10 for lunch. Some of the food freshness was in question, but for the most part, stick to the simple items and you can’t go wrong. One thing that I noticed was the cleanliness of the plates. I picked up my plate and it had a weird smell to it. It’s the smell of old, dish towel that’s been used to dry all the plates, all month long. Probably never been washed, or if it has, it was probably just dumped into a bleach bucket. But once you get over that, and the fact that you’re eating at a discount indian buffet, you’ll enjoy it. The fried naan bread is fantastic. My cheat day came early this week when I found that.

OK, so we’re up to $ 8.95, but still a great deal. Please please recover the ripped seats, really detracts from such a nice place.

Affordable, but not the quality I expected. Please note that aesthetic and presentation is everything. Individuals do eat with their eyes first, before the stomach.

Surprisingly delicious buffet with many vegetarian and meat options. Chai tea included was perfect to enjoy after my abundant meal and a few too many pieces of hard-to-resist naan. Some of the best mint chutney and coconut chutney. Also had several hot sauces for my spice loving partner. Great deal for a complete meal with dessert and tea for under ten bucks.

What an Amazing hidden treasure. We were greeted by the owner. He’s so friendly and kind. We chatted about our trip to Kerala this past March and how much we loved India. The restaurant is super clean. The food is delicious. Vindaloo lamb, chicken tikka masala, aloo pak, lots of great dishes. A+ service. Just a wonderful experience. Thank you for the amazing experience. Will be back at least twice a month!

Oh my. I’m thinking about this as I write this. Can I work out enough tomorrow that I can justify binging at Mr Currys? I mean this place is ridiculous. So good. The Best in St. Louis. Here’s your problem they are open downtown for like 2 or 3 hours a day M-F. That’s it. No courtesy Saturday for the working man. Nope screw you blue collar working stiff. Go get your Indian some other place. This place is a tough like that. That said, the best!

I really wanted to like this place. After living near Little India in Chicago for several years I like to think I have a decent palette when it comes to Indian cuisine. To start, this place either doesn’t have decent AC or it was out because it was incredibly HOT when I went there last week. Maybe it’s just me but unless I’m eating outside at a picnic or on a beach I don’t want to be sweating through my meal. The set up is interesting. There is a cashier when you enter the restaurant and she takes your money for food & drinks right off the bat. Then you encounter the buffet line. The selection is impressive — many varieties of curry and fried goodies — however the execution was a little muted for me. I tried the chicken korma, veggie korma, chana masala, tikka masala, and another one that is escaping me at the moment. They all tasted about the same. Lots of cream not enough spice or heat. The naan was fine but the fried goodies were also a little off from what I’m accustomed. They do have a pretty banging selection of chutneys to accompany the fried goodies so be sure to partake in that to amp up the dishes. The price is good — under $ 10 for an AYCE buffet and water. Not sure if I’ll be back — I might just save my Indian trips for dinner visits on Manchester.

Mr Curry’s is a semi-weekly tradition with my coworkers. I love this place. But I follow a very specific Mr Curry’s regimen: Yellow rice, the burnt orange colored chicken(it’s either butter chicken or chicken tika massala depending on the day), the soft naan, and the little fried items(honestly not sure what they are… onion?). These are clearly the best items on the buffet and I don’t mess around with anything else. I will say that Mr Curry’s has off days with their food but when they’re on their game it is amazing.

Mr. Curry’s has absolutely delicious and very affordable Indian food. You can tell they truly value the quality and freshness of their food. They put the same attention to quality into their sides as they do the main dishes, which isn’t always the case with restaurants. My boyfriend who claims he doesn’t like Indian food really enjoyed it. They close early though so make sure you check their hours. I enjoyed every single item from their buffet. The rice pudding was perfect, masala dosa was tasty with the perfect amount of heat/spiciness, chicken tikka masala was amazing and everything else was fantastic! Even their chia tea was amazing(way better than Starbucks or Bread Co). I appreciate that some of their food has a bit of heat/spice to it. I’ve found that a lot of Indian restaurants don’t make anything spicy… and I LOVE spicy! Don’t worry, it isn’t too spicy for those sensitive ones out there. I had the chance to talk to the owner for awhile. He was wonderful and a total joy to talk to, which makes me want to support Mr. Curry’s even more. There is nothing worse(ok, there are plenty of worse things, but still) than an amazing restaurant with a horrible owner. For instance, the owner of Copia was horribly rude and actually screamed at us. I’ve also heard bad stories from other people. So, I will never eat at Copia again, but I’m getting way off track with this tangent. To sum it up, Mr. Curry’s has a delicious buffet, fantastic staff and wonderful owner… Check it out!

Probably my favorite place to grab lunch downtown. Very affordable, delicious selection, including mango lassi! I can’t vouch for authenticity, but I always end up hating myself for overeating every time I come here… It’s just so good. T_T

‘Mr Currys’ is like the place you hear about in the fairytales, maybe something like Willie Wonka’s chocolate factory. «Son they have the best Indian food in the entire Midwest, BUT, they are not open for dinner, they are not open on weekends, they are only open for week-day lunches and you need to wear a yellow tie to get in.» Ok, I made up the yellow tie part but you get the idea. I had to wait for months before the perfect opportunity came up to hop on a train and head downtown for a lunch at the fabled Mr Currys. The place does not disappoint, its a self-serve lunch buffet with unlimited Mango lassi! The food is pretty good and there were a lot of good and healthy options. I liked everything here except the lamb keema and the slightly too oily fried appetizers. The staff are friendly and on the day I was there they seemed to be giving out free samples out on the sidewalk for people to try. I’d definitely love to come back here but like I said it can only happen when the stars are in the right position thanks to their unique hours.

I brought my wife here for the lunch buffet 12p.m.-2p.m.,(JUSTFORHER, CUZ I CAN’T EATSPICYFOODS), we were greeted by the hostess and then proceeded to the buffet. We enjoyed all the foods, from the Tandoori chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, the Naan, Keer, Mango Lassie, Paneer & Peas, the Jasmine flavored Basmati Rice, although I «DON’T DOTHESPICE» we really enjoyed the food and environment. If you love ASIAN/INDIAN food, and a calming restful environment to eat it in, then Mr. Curry is the place for you!!! Enjoy!!!

St. Louis is severely disappointing coming from Cincinnati in terms of Indian food. I guess not every city has a large Indian population. Mr. Currys is a good price lunch buffet and like all buffets isn’t the best. All of the food is more mild because not everyone likes it hot. Things can sit out for a bit so the flavors can’t compete against the best. But you get a good variety and all you can eat. No complaints just how buffets are. There is tons of space, you just have to pay quickly then its all on your schedule. Parking is pretty easy too. You could get in and out really fast. They also have a to go option. All in all a good buffet especially for St. Louis. Now the part that wows me and makes me really excited to go back again and again. When you pay for a drink, you can get chai and/or mango lassi with free refills. Great tasting chai though it is pretty sweet. Both were so good I want to go early and sit for an hour or two just enjoying the drinks! I’ve had an Indian craving since moving here, and this really hit the spot. Obviously I’ll need to find a nice sit down and or takeout place for some great made to order stuff too. But for what it is, Mr Currys is great. They are also open saturdays? I’ll double check and get that updated.

Good spread of Indian food at a cheap price! Mr. Curry is only a short drive from my office so many of my coworkers had been here before and mentioned this place in passing. A group of us were heading out for lunch and decided Indian food sounded like a good choice. At $ 6.95 you really can’t find a better deal! I can’t say that this is the BEST Indian food I have ever had, but it certainly isn’t the worst. They have a few different rices/noodles to choose from, in addition to your usual entrée choices like tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, veggie korma, saag, and a few other curry stew type things. In addition to all of this, they offer various sauces/condiments, chai tea, and a few desserts. I filled my plate with regular basmati rice, a scrambled egg dish of sorts, chicken tikka masala, a veggie curry mixture, and a coconut topping. The scramble egg dish was new to me but was less flavorful than I expected. It didn’t really have any Indian flavors and tasted more or less like what many Americans eat for breakfast. The chicken tikka masala was decent, I have had better but it was still pretty good. The veggie curry mixture was on the bland side, so it didn’t make much of an impression. My favorite thing of the bunch was the coconut topping. I forget what all was in it, but it had a slight sweetness with a nice crunch! After eating my regular food, I also grabbed a cup of chai tea and these banana crêpe things for dessert. The tea had a nice flavorful and was very creamy, it was pretty rich but a little glass of it was delicious. The crepes were also pretty good. They were sweet without being too rich, a nice ending to my meal. I don’t plan on rushing back to Mr. Curry, but every few months I could definitely come here for a cheap lunch buffet.
