Lumen offers a really nice, large, industrial, yet elegant space for special events and wedding receptions. I love the lighting that shines from the outside of the building at night. The women’s bathroom(and I assume the men’s as well) is really nice with its black and white marble motif. There is a second floor that overlooks the main gallery downstairs, and a large bar on the first floor. I’ve been here for various events ranging from a spoken word event to a bridal show, to an all-day seminar, and the space worked well for all of these events. For the seminar, there was a large screen that displayed power point presentations and the laptop was hooked into the sound system of the event space so that video content could be heard throughout the entire building. The catering company that owns Lumen, 23 City Blocks, serves AMAZING cuisine, including gluten-free and vegetarian cuisine! Lumen is a perfect place for a wedding reception or chic event.

Had a 2 day offsite meeting at this location. While it was aesthetically a nice space, the wifi never worked(for 2 whole days!) and the air conditioning was not great. In addition, it is challenging to set-up projector screens, because of the way the sun comes in, so at various points in the day, the projector screens were basically unreadable. I might look elswhere if you plan to host a large offsite.

Was inquiring about having my wedding there next year, and it took a week and multiple emails and phone calls to get a message. When I mentioned my 5k budget, she just quit responding altogether! I thought the whole thing was incredibly rude, and would not recommend this venue to future brides. Plenty of other spaces will treat you well and answer your questions in a timely manner.

We had our wedding reception at Lumen and I can say that I was 100% completely satisfied with our entire event! I wish Lumen would have dinners or something on their off-nights because their chef and food is AMAZING. 3 years later and people still tell me how much they enjoyed the food at our wedding. Aside from the venue being very unique and easy to lay out the design of your event how you like it, the lighting also really helps to customize your night. I also enjoyed the dual level layout so my guests really got to move around and we were able to take full advantage of the space. We had an upstairs cocktail bar and photo booth and dance floor and bar on the 1st level. Everything about the sales staff, event managers and wait staff was perfect and professional. I would have my wedding reception here again in a heartbeat!

I just had my wedding reception at Lumen and everything went perfectly. Scenery-wise, you can’t beat the gorgeous old building and the two-story windows. It really needed little decoration given the details already in the room. The lighting makes for a fun extra color boost, and we used it to accent our floral centerpieces. I also liked the little bench that runs along the windows, which added nice chatting space to the room away from the dinner tables. There is a really neat mezzanine level that looks out over the main room, and they had it set up with a bar and cocktail tables for our event. There is usually lounge furniture, but we moved it downstairs next to the dance floor for the party, which turned out to be a really good move. Natalie was always quick to respond to questions, and was a great help at making suggestions to reduce/enhance the budget. We had our guest numbers bounce around so it went both directions at different times. They were really flexible in the set-up, entrance and timing. The food was delicious, and they had a huge number of options for appetizers, entrees and sides. I got compliments on all of it from friends that would have no problem saying otherwise. A half-complaint would be the weak drinks, but at a wedding I think that is more of a benefit than not, particularly when someone gets the brilliant idea to do tequila shots. They were super accommodating and very helpful with all of the late changes we had with seating and schedule.

I went here for a Variety the Children’s Charity benefit. Anheuser Busch supplied the beer and Lumen’s chef supplied some great food for the charity. This place has an interesting gimmick with white curtains on the two story windows that are lit up by lights that can change colors. The effect(IMO) gives the name Lumen meaning and over all feel. They can change the mood and look against the white. The place is a large open area with a long bar(see pic) that can be a blank canvas for many events. There is also a mezzanine area.
