JV’s on Gravois

Attempted to stop in for a quick bite to eat and a beer Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm only to discover a locked door, chairs stacked on top of the tables, and a man sitting at the bar talking to the bartender. The hours clearly listed that they had opened at 11am, however there was no effort to acknowledge us and we left without even stepping foot in the door.
On a side note, I discovered JV’s on Groupon and had decided to give them a try. Now I will be contacting Groupon and requesting a refund.

Recently, I moved to South City, and I’ve had little experience past Heavy Anchor and what used to be Lemmon’s. I decided to check out a bar near the new place, and I was happy to find JV’s on Gravois.
My roommate had a Living Social to use, and since I had just moved, we decided to celebrate! It was New Year’s Eve day, but they didn’t mind us using the coupon during the afternoon. The roomie ordered a Bloody Mary, which the bartender was very proud of. However, I didn’t have anything to drink, since I was going out later to celebrate the end of 2015.
We both ordered sandwiches with fries, a Reuben and a chicken sandwich called The Gravois. My friend really enjoyed the Reuben, and my chicken sandwich was very tasty, covered with ranch and provel cheese. It was a nice lunch to ring in new times and places!
JV’s has different events going on every night, and they also have some daily special to check out. I’m looking forward to checking it out again in the near future.

For a neighborhood Pub and Grub, the menu here has so many options. We have visited serveral times for many events, and have never been disappointed with the food. Their loaded Fry menu is to die for. This place sows many events with the community as well which will for sure draw us back to visit.
