Honestly, when a friend told me that we could grab a pizza here, I didn’t have high expectations… but lemme tell you, I was totally WRONG. Service is 5PLUSSTARS, easy. Our waitress was super friendly, knowledgeable and quite frankly, a rock star. Pizza was DELISH. The double decker was amazing and we did a half margarita and the other half was pepperoni, sausage and beef… Flavor was intense on either side and the crust was super! The trashed wings were impressive. Delicious and full of great flavor. We could only eat half and took it home, reheats great and leftover pizza is always a HUGE perk, seriously! End result, living here in STL for 11 months and this is hands down, the BEST pizza I’ve had since living here. Congrats JJ Twig’s, can’t wait to see you again.

Pizza is delicious. We usually visit to catch a game. Service has been good but the temperature has been cold Almost frigid during winter months.

Good salad options. Very clean, sparkling new interior/atmosphere. A fun place to go to hang out and also get a good, full meal. Can get a little loud at busy times, it also isn’t really that big, but it’s actually pretty nice how full and boisterous it can be sometimes.

I ordered a pizza over the phone for pick up, they told me 25 minutes at 11:00 am. I got there at 11:20 but it took until 11:45 to get my pizza. That surprised me because there were only 2 people in the restaurant. I figured out why there were only 2 people when I got home and tasted my pizza. It was immediately evident that the ground beef on my pizza was so old, it was on the edge of being spoiled. It had a taste and smell that was unpleasant. I called and told them they should throw out their beef and why, they offered to make me a new pizza with«fresh ingredients»! Really!!! You have fresh ingredients but decided I wasn’t worthy of that on my initial visit? You use up the old spoiled stuff until someone complains and then offer them the good stuff. I declined their offer.

This place is really cool! We came in at 9:30 on a Saturday night just for a cocktail and a carry-out. Although it was surprisingly empty for a saturday, the food was awesome when we got home and our bartender was super friendly. I’ve been here a couple times during the day and though it seems cold during the day it has a somewhat chic atmosphere at night. Never been disappointed with the food, either. A+

This place shall be my new favorite pizza place in St. Louis! They serve regular thin crust pizza, lots of tasty bar food, pastas, and sandwiches. Definitely get their pickle chips because they are perfectly breaded and fried. The pretzel bites were meh though the cheese dipping sauce is quite good. Their toasted ravioli are good but not amazing. The pizza is what keeps me coming back! They have thin crust pizza and a double decker where they stack 2 thin crust pizzas and then bake them. OMG! It is a big cheesy topping filled pie of deliciousness! Service is prompt and courteous. No frills but nothing left wanting. I will definitely be a regular here.

I have been to this location several times. Most of the times the food is ok. Don’t order the blt. They deep fry the pizza bacon and it tastes like old grease. The main issue I have is that they play one music station in the dining room and another one is blasting in the kitchen. I have complained twice about this and every time I go back it’s the same music blasting from the kitchen. It’s so loud that the wall next to the kitchen shakes from the bass. Why don’t you buy the kitchen staff some wireless headphones so they can listen to their music without disturbing the customers. Hello manager or owner… wake up!

I like this place always friendly and fast. Came in on a Saturday night an hour before the kitchen closed. Our server was friendly and our salad and pizza where very good. We had the buffalo chicken pizza-yum! The Caesar Salad was great, was happy it was made with field greens! Wish I could remember out servers name she was very sweet.

Cream Garlic pasta. Bowtie pasta with mushrooms, creamy white sauce and italian sausage. Gigantic helping served by super nice waitress. Good thing my wife was there or I would have licked the empty bowl. The best I have ever had. Sauce was great consistency. Not runny l, not powdery, just right. She ordered bacon and sausage pizza which was delicious. Although the menu is not nearly as extensive as the large restaurant at Lake of the Ozarks the food is 10 times better prepared. Don’t be put off by the JJ Twigs at the Lake. Try the South St. Louis location.

We’d been to the Doughty Ferry Twig’s location before and had decent food. So when we in the area late on Saturday, we stopped by and grabbed a caesar salad and buffalo pizza. The food was pretty good. Prices are good. Service was prompt. Two comments though… 1) if you sit in the booths towards the back of the restaurant, the walls rumble from kitchen activity. I can only guess that the dishwasher is on the other side of that wall. It felt like there was a roller coaster or bear in the adjacent room. 2) The employees all seemed nice and we recieved good service, but as we left we walked out the front door into a pack of 5 or 6 employees in uniform smoking. I get it… it’s late… we’re probably one of the last tables of the night, but smoke somewhere out of sight. Non-smokers don’t want that to be the last impression of the place.

Just left this restaurant and I have to say it has gone down hill fast. My wife and I wanted a nice dinner for our anniversary, she loves this place and asked if we could go tonight. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice hostess and were sat at a nice table, it was clean and the place looked good. It took about 10 minutes and prompting to have our waitress come over,(her boyfriend and kids were in the table across from us, she spent most of her time there) the waitress took our order and brought our drinks. About 20 minutes went by and our food arrived, it was delivered by another waitress,(ours was back at the boyfriends table). The good was that my wife’s pasta plate was GREAT, my plate was horrible. The cook didn’t make the fries right and they arrived burnt and very salty. The Italian club was just thrown together and was not very attractive. The waitress never returned to refill our drinks or ask how our food was, I placed my uneaten food on the table by the edge hoping she would see and come over but she never did, I finally asked for another waitress to get the manager who was very apologetic and nice. Overall, it was a very bad experience. We have been there before and the food was amazing but that was several months ago. Today at 530 pm nobody was there and the wait staff was all different. I wish I knew what happened but hopeful that they can redeem themselves or they won’t make it.

I don’t give many 5-star reviews but JJ Twig’s Beef and Sausage Combo sandwich with Mozzarella and giardinara deserves it. I can say it is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I didn’t get pizza sauce on it but that’s also an option. Bread wasn’t too soggy. Meats were perfectly seasoned. A carnivore’s delight. I will be eating one of these bad boys every week moving forward.

The Hampton area needs another pizza joint like a hole in the head, but JJ Twig’s is doing their own thing, which makes them a welcome addition. We started out with their appetizer platter. I loved that you get to choose the three items on your platter. I wish more people did that! We chose fried pickles, pretzel bites and mini corn dogs. All come with their own dipping sauces. My favorite were the pretzel bites with cheese. On to the pizza. No matter how long you wait, you’re gonna burn your lips on that double-decker pizza… but you’re not gonna care! This monster boasts of two layers of thin crust, two layers of meat and cheese, topped off with any other ingredients you want and a thick braided outer edge. It’s a unique offering that feeds many. We tried The Southside Pride — pepperoni, sausage, bacon, onions and pepperoncini. It was very good. They have a ton of other specialty pizzas to try, along with a bunch of sandwiches, salads, burgers and even pasta. I foresee many trips back to JJ Twig’s in my future.

I’ll agree with most of the people saying it’s not kid friendly. Yeah, there’s a claw machine in the back of the place. But the main attraction is the bar and the TV’s for the games. The pizza has always been good, the trashed wings are amazing, but my favorite thing on the menu is the Italian sausage bites with a side of marinara. I think it’s more attractive for the 20 something’s who live in SOHA. But overall I love this place and have been going since it opened.

Had a great meal tonight to celebrate Mothers Day! Everything was delicious but I recommend asking for extra sauce on the white sauce pizza… the salads were HUGE/enough for 2 – 3 people to share of you are also having pizza and we went home with plenty of leftovers. Most impressive was the service. They were crowded. busy but our server kept us happy with plenty of drink refills, clearing dirty dishes, extra napkins and to go boxes. Lots of TVs to watch the Cardinals and on the noisy side bit that all the festive evening. Will be back soon!

More of a family restaurant than a pub, but they do have a small bar with 4 nice big screen TV’s. JJ Twig’s has 6 beers(all local) on tap… prices were so-so. I ordered the beef and sausage combo sandwich(comes with mozzarella cheese on buttered French bread — $ 10.29) and it was OUTSTANDING and ENORMOUS. It was the size of two sandwiches, but I was a big, fat pig and I ate the whole sandwich there. One of the options for a side item was fresh strawberries. Yum. Loved those. The bartenders were sweethearts! They were kind and did a great job. It did take a while to make the sandwich, but maybe that was because the portion was so big. JJ Twig’s doesn’t have a menu for this Hampton location posted on their website or Facebook page. C’MONGUYS! It’s 2015!!!

Great Double Decker pizza. Had the South Side Pride pizza with Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Bacon, Onion, and Banana Peppers. It was excellent. Others at our table had Meat Me in St Louis pizza with Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, Bacon and Beef. It was excellent, too. Great service and a fun time.

Disclaimer: we did not eat pizza. Some people might say, it’s a pizza place! What did you expect? But the menu is pretty expansive so it definitely doesn’t feel like«just a pizza place.» I really wanted to like this place. I’m so happy when a neighborhood restaurant opens up and we always try to make it there and support them as much as possible because if they do well, we all do well. But the food here is okay at best. We will likely be back because we have young kids and it seems like a place they’d do well at(versus driving to Kirkwood/Webster to do Dewey’s). Complaints: loud. So loud our waiter couldn’t hear us and there wasn’t a live band or anything. Just bad acoustics. Slow. It took about 30−35min for our two burgers. No apps, no special requests, nothing crazy. Just burgers. Pizza, I get it, takes longer. But because we were actually in a bit of a hurry, we decided to skip the pizza. Oops. Food. I hate to do third but to be honest, the burger was just okay. The meat was dry but greasy, the bun was a buttery something that didn’t hold up to the size of the patty(which was, btw, huge). They had run out of pickles and iceberg lettuce so we had a few spinach leaves and fresh tomato slices on the side but… Yeah. Not great. The fries as a side were also just meh. Over fried so they were greasy and too crispy. Pros: great service. Some of the staff seemed young but there were a lot of them and our glasses were filled and we were smiled at and everyone was just really friendly. Clean restrooms.(Points!) Huge portions. Which is nice if you like to share or take some home. I saw a couple split a salad for an app and wish we had done that, looked great. Family friendly. If we would take our kids here next time, they’d feel very welcome. There’s a few arcades in the back and they had cups with lids, etc. Reasonable prices.(Points!) the burger and fries was about $ 8. We will probably go back because it’s a neighborhood place and we want it to thrive. But I wouldn’t recommend going here for a date night or expecting blow-your-socks-off food. Expect average bar food, pizza, and a friendly atmosphere and you won’t be disappointed.

I already know I gotta go back and when I do I’ll have to totally cheat on my low-carb diet. I’ve been told the Double Decker pizzas are incredible and from the ones I saw being delivered to tables around me, I can agree without even tasting one. This JJ Twig’s is small and compact. They made use of every square inch, so the tables are placed tightly together. If you’re seated at a two top table in the center row in the back dining room, you may feel claustrophobic. The music is also a tad to loud, with the smallness and high volume it made it hard to have a normal conversation. Now that I have the negatives out of the way, let us talk food. We started out with an order of Chicken Wings, Trashed. Crispy chicken wings, tossed in a hot sauce and then put back in the frier. Spicy and crispy, makes for a good chicken wing. They came with a side of more hot sauce, but we totally did not need to do any extra dipping. My entrée was a Sensational Salad, the Lou Que. A huge portion of mixed greens, red onion, tomato, cheddar cheese and BBQ Pulled Pork with a Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. The pulled pork was tender and I was totally stuffed, to be honest I could empty my bowl. My dining partner ordered one of their sandwiches, Italian Beef with a side of Onion Rings. The beef was tender and topped with Mozzarella Cheese and Jalapeños. The menu claims the Onion Rings are hand battered, I doubt that. To me they came from a bag, but a good bag. They just seemed to be processed. The service is friendly and sitting so close to other diners, chances are you’ll banter back and forth with a table or two. Being a causal restaurant in Saint Louis Hills, it draws a large family clientele. I’ll be honest, I normally don’t like to be surrounded by little diners, but one kept me totally entertained. I still smile thinking about her antics. It is so good to have another option for dining in my hood.
