I’m actually really impressed with this place. Shopping here was an extremely positive experience. I’ve been following them on Facebook for a while now and have been wanting to check it out. They post a lot of really inspiring and body positive things on their Facebook page. They are located on a sleepy stretch of Washington Avenue next to the Pour House. Easy street parking. The store is definitely a boutique… A.K.A. SMALL. However, they had a pretty decent selections of dresses. Prices seemed to range from 50 to 150 ish dollars. The clothes are all«designer» pieces, which really means nothing to me because I am not«into» fashion, I don’t know designers, and I don’t care about brands. What matters to me is how a piece is cut and the quality of the fabric/stitching. I actually found a couple dresses that I liked. I’m probably not the target audience for this store because I don’t have many occasions where I get dressed up or go out, and I am also extremely conservative in my attire at all times, but I could see myself shopping here for specials occasions. They seem to have a lot of good sales. Trying on dresses was a great experience. The owner was extremely friendly. She wasn’t shy about helping me try things on– she just came on in to the dressing room with me standing there half nekkid… Her confidence made me feel more confident. I tried a dress on and immediately saw my flaws. The owner forced me to come out and strut my stuff and I realized that I actually looked pretty good in the dress. I mean no dress can shield the fact that I weigh 300 pounds, but she just gave me a lot of confidence and helped me to see the beauty in what I am and my good features. Normally trying on clothes as a plus-size woman is extremely traumatizing and discouraging. I left here feeling on top of the world. Even though I didn’t buy anything, I will definitely be back. This place is a place that celebrates WOMEN in a real way. To all my plus-size sisters, you should DEFINITELY check this place out. You deserve something that doesn’t come from the Target maternity section. F**k Target.
