This is one of my favorite places on the Hill! My husband and I come here for everything… Valentine’s Day dinner, World Cup games, we even had our wedding rehearsal dinner here. The atmosphere is perfect for any occasion; dressy or casual. The costumer service is great and I love that it’s truly a family run business. It’s obvious that the people working here care about the success of this restaurant. My husband’s go-to is always the steak sandwich on garlic cheese bread and I love the seafood pasta. Everything on the menu is great! We haven’t tried many of the tapas, but the ones we have tried are spot on. The meatballs and toasted ravs are two that really stand out — both are fresh, homemade and delicious every time.

Toasted ravioli were okay. Seemed to be house-made due to their inconsistent size and shapes. Usually that’s a plus, and still is, if they are in fact house made. However, these were overcooked and nearly burnt. Filling was flavorful, as was the sauce. Cooked properly these have great potential. As far as T-ravs can go. Salad was good. Dressing was light and had a great flavor. Had big chunks of that inner, yellow iceberg lettuce. The one that no one eats. Throw that stuff away, Guido. Iceberg is like fifty cents a head. Pizza was good. Pretty straight forward St. Louis style pizza. Cooked perfectly, good sausage, fresh onions and that trademark gooey provel. Cheaper than Imo’s. But I must say, I’d eat Imo’s or Elicia’s any day over this. If Imo’s and Elicia’s of course were choices at the time. Nothing against the pizza here. All in all, Guido’s pizza is fresh, well executed, and tastes good. Just didn’t blow my mind. We walk in to the brightest dining room. Great décor, fireplace, nice tables, candles, plants, Et Cetera. One huge negative. It was super bright in there. Not a blue hair in sight, so no reason to have the lights on full blast. We can see the menu just fine. Seriously. Dim your freaking lights, Guido. Service was average at the very best. Waited probably six minutes to be greeted. Which in guest sense, that is an eternity. Big no no there. Especially for a first time visit. Finally greeted by Donna. Blah. Zero personality, and zero clue. Kneeled on the fireplace while she was telling the specials. Pretty tacky. Forgot my water until fourth request. Repeated the order ingredient by ingredient. Three times she repeated back the wrong ingredients, of which there were three, including cheese. A lot of her flaws are probably more so a lack of proper training. Not entirely her fault. Just very choppy, and generic sort of service I was given at Friday’s before homecoming. Twenty plus years ago. Most restaurants are limited to one or two superstar front of house employees. Sort of like pro basketball. If your person isn’t a superstar, you gotta coach em up. Guido’s needs better coaching. One last thing. Dim the lights, bro.

I stopped by Guido’s on the way home from work for some happy hour priced Sangria by the pitcher. What a great idea! The red sangria was delicious. Make sure to ask for a cup of ice, since there never seemed to be enough I the pitcher. Lots of fresh frit floating in the pitcher. We were also given a bread basket to help absorb some of the alcohol– smart thinking on their part We didn’t order any food on this occasion, but I’ve had their pizza in the past and it was fantastic! The waitress was very attentive and made sure we had enough water/bread/ice. She was always available if we did want to order food. I love not having to track down a waitress when I need one. I’ve attended a small event in their back room(catered with pizza/salad/appetizers). So if you need a meeting room for maybe 20 or so people, this would be a great idea!

Food was ok, we ordered calamari and veggie pizza. Service was very poor. Seems like our waiter had a bad day and was pretty irritated.

The St. Louis special crust sausage pizza and zucchini soup. The soup was awesome, pizza was average — could not settle with the taste of the cheese used. The service was very very poor. Hate it when wait staff attends you immediately after their smoke break

Rude waiter tried to joke with him and he stormed off and threw a tantrum. Sent someone else to serve us. New waiter was nice. Did not eat anything for fear of reprisals. Probably would not go back. The party of four I was with liked their meals. Salad was a little skimpy. Pizza very similar to Imo’s.

Normally love Guido’s. But tonight was very disappointing… got the special chicken dish, can’t remember what it was called and also got the chicken piccata… we were both very disappointed. Portion size, her pasta with the pink sauce was cold. We’ve been going there for years too… just seems like since the remodel the prices went up and quality went down.

Muffaletta sandwich was ok. Too much bread for the amount of meat. Cesar Salad was good. Overall it was ok.

What a disappointment. When we got to St Louis many people told us that we must try toasted ravioli at The Hill. We heard and saw many ads for Guido’s. We arrived an definitely were not impressed by the ambiance, but we were hopeful. Food — the sauce for the toasted ravioli was good. The ravioli Soto. For dinner my husband order classic Spaghetti with meat sauce, it is warm at best. The taste was ok. I order the special which the waiter really sold us on talking about how it was really. The special was salmon with herb butter and vegetal risotto. The risotto was made with frozen vegetables. And the salmon nor the risotto had any flavoring. BLAND To add insult to injury, my husband ask for the bill and when the waiter come he slap it down in front of me. I did place a comment in the bill and my tip showed my disappointment

The veal was very good. The Cannoli was great. Highly recommend the toasted ravioli as an appetizer. The Margherita Pizza was very good as well. The ambiance is nice… casual but classy. When in St. Louis I will be back for for excellent Italian!

What a treat to eat at Guidos today for lunch. I think a great way for a restaurant to stay fresh with its regulars is to offer great specials and the special I had today was extraordinary. It was a vegetable ravioli perfectly prepared with fresh Parmesan grated on top. The portion size was generous and it was served with a small salad. Simply put it was delicious.

Trying to find somewhere to eat after a cards game. Stumbled into this place, liked the feel of the place as soon as I walked in. It was late, and didn’t feel unwelcomed! We started off with toasted ravioli, that was decent, had heard so much about it since arriving. I think my favorite part was the salad that came with the meal, was very good! Was super excited about the chicken piccata since I don’t usually order very heavy dinners! Was actually pretty disappointed. The chicken was cold, sauce was weird, and pasta was ok. Not sure if it was cause it was so late, but not impressed with dinner overall. Was so excited to try this authentic Italian here on the hill! Really hate giving a place less then four stars but can’t make myself give it four. The server was very nice and pleasant but couldn’t make up for my disappointment in the food! The last time I had chicken piccata was at a chain — California Pizza Kitchen, and it was better than this. How can that be?

Great food! I had Veal Marsala and my wife had Chicken Piccata — Delicious. Their house salad is one of the best I’ve had and the Marinara Sauce on Wheat Pasta(more establishments should offer this) was excellent. My only complaint is the small portion of wine served and the high price.(My thoughts, my wife disagrees.) We’ll be back with friends!

I am a thin pizza fan, so to find this place was a perfect fit for my pizza style! At first I was a bit taken back by the noise level of some Cardinal fans during a Cubs game… this place is very open in the bar area into the dinning room. The high ceilings allow the noise to carry throughout the building, newly remodeled gave this palace a very stylish dinning experience! We had a few drinks with are meal. The bat keep was not stingy with his servings… which makes for the beginning of a good time. Caesar salad and a very thin crust pizza was a delight! This location is one of my first just stop in place on the Hill, I will revisit this place!

We ordered the margherita pizza and the garlic cheese bread via delivery last night. The pizza was very average and largely tasteless. The garlic cheese bread was decent, would have been better without Provel cheese but apparently you can’t get that here in St. Louis. We won’t be eating here again.

We had heard a lot of good things about this place from a local friend. It was our first time on The Hill. We were not disappointed. We ate here two days in a row! Night one, we had pizza. Pizza with provel. Go here at eat this pizza with provel as soon as you can. We ordered 3 pizzas and shared across the table. All of it was excellent. Also, best Chianti wine suggestion from the server. Night one was so good we went back on night two. We all had pasta this go round. Best manicotti I have ever had. More chianti on night two. Lots of it. Service was excellent. There were two tables of us and they didn’t blink when we asked to split the check odd ways because of work needs. I can’t wait to get back to St. Louis to eat here again.

I placed an order through GrubHub, which was promptly delivered. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. The Guido’s Supreme was loaded with bland, low-quality cuts of beef, ham, and volpo. If you only care about quantity, maybe Guido’s is your place. The grease soaked all of the way through a rubbery French roll, making the sandwich inedible. Absolutely disgusting and probably the worst sandwich I’ve ever had. To make matters worse, they forgot my order of Tabla Iberica. When I called them, they were initially friendly, but the call was handed off a couple of times. The last person said that there is nothing that they can do about it. When I complained politely, the guy on the phone said«I’m not dealing with this shit» and hung up the phone. They did not answer when I called back. GrubHub did refund the amount, but stated that Guido’s was unwilling to. The hot wings were decent, but, other than that, it’s a classless hole with food that my dog wouldn’t even finish for me.

I really wanted to love this place. I’ve now come here two times and unfortunately, I cannot give this place more than 3 stars. I will say that I really love their food. Both times I ordered their chicken parmesan sandwich with a side of pink sauce pasta. The chicken was moist and served on a crispy and delicious bun. The pasta was also very good. Today, my husband ordered the cannelloni, which he enjoyed even though the portion was a little small. For dessert I had the turtle cheesecake, which had the perfect amount of nuts and caramel sauce. In addition to their food, i love their newly remodeled space. It looks a lot classier and really fits with the food they offer. I would say that they should probably update their menus so that they fit with the more stylish bar and dining room. So you must be confused at this point… why 3 stars if I love their food and their newly remodeled space? Well… it is because this is not a place to come if you’re hungry. Both times I waited over 50 minutes for my food. Neither time was busy. Today, for example, was after the lunch rush and there weren’t that many people in the dining room. I’m still a little confused about what they’re doing in their back room. Maybe I don’t want to know… In sum, great place for pasta and sandwiches, if you’re willing to wait a long time.

Really nice place for a meal. Nice local couple Spanish wife and Italian husband? They pull for Real Madrid. Now that I’ve had more of the Spanish side of the menu too, I can say that the tapas is very good. It’s definitely a little more expensive or harder to fill up on. The Italian side is still pretty good after trying more and more meals on the hill. The specials or Italian with tapas appetizers can work. The salad is good too but aren’t they all on the hill? I’ve tried their grappa and it was delicious. My first grappa so I might find all grappa to be that way. A tad strong but much like a good brandy! Lots of good meals here and good deals!

I liked the décor. The front window was open wide, and natural sunlight was pouring in(lunchtime). The place was decorated in red, which I liked. Service was nice. They have standard Italian food, and then they have Spanish tapas. We ordered 2 glasses of one of their wine specials, which happened to be a Spanish wine, and a Spanish dish called croquetas(which were absolutely delicious) as a started. He had chicken parmesan, I had lasagna, and we also had salads and bread/butter(see pics). All were good. Décor/Space 4⁄5 Service 4⁄5 Croquetas 5⁄5 Chicken Parm 4⁄5 Lasagna 3⁄5 Bread/Butter 3⁄5 Salads 3.5÷5

It has been 13 years since I have had boquerones en vinagre. Patatas bravas = amazing /tortilla española pa chuparte los dedos … Y las croquetas Omg. If I ever come back to St. Louis is to eat mamas food. I have tried all kind of authentic«Spanish» restaurants and nothing compares to this
