This review is specifically for FitCamp. Just to give you some background on my situation: I have never done any sort of fitness class previously. In fact, I’ve never really been in shape. I am about as far from an athlete as you can get. I started this program to supplement running in an effort to get rid of lingering flab and improve core strength after having two kids. The classes attract a wide variety of sizes and abilities. There are a lot of runners looking for cross training but there are also plenty of people who are in the early stages of getting fit. I’ve found the class environment to be very motivating because I can’t just give up when the person next to me is performing well. It makes me push myself. Most sessions you’ll do 3 sets of 3 – 4 upper body moves, the same for lower body and then some core work. Sometimes there are special days where you’ll do 3 sets of 12 moves instead. It’s a combo of strength and cardio. Having someone else tell you what moves to do and being in control of the clock really makes the time fly by because you don’t have to think about what to do next and for how long. Yes, it’s a little rough when it’s hot. If you can make it work, I highly suggest the 6 am classes in the summer. If you can’t make that happen, try to arrive early to grab a spot in the shade! It’s great being outside though. There is always great people watching on Art Hill too. After the first class, I was super sore and walking like Frankenstein’s monster for two days. However, since then I’ve had only moderate soreness. I generally go twice a week in addition to running 3 – 4 days/week on my own. I am seeing some awesome results and dusting off clothes that haven’t seen much wear in the last few years. All in all, I’m really enjoying seeing how my performance improves from class to class. I don’t see myself quitting any time soon. The only reason I can’t give a five-star review is that I don’t think there’s enough emphasis on proper form. Kristin is super nice to the point of maybe letting things slide a little bit. She is very good about giving positive encouragement though. I genuinely look forward to these sessions.

Well, I finished my 60 sessions and I exceeded my goal! I have never felt better. I am definitely going to enroll in other sessions. The best part is, you can meet anywhere! I highly recommend Fit By Definition to anyone, whether you have a lot or weight and/or inches to lose, or just want to tone up and feel great… 6÷5÷10: I am currently in week 5 of a 12 week Summer Fit Camp by Fit By Definition. Enrolled in the fit camp are 6 woman of different ages and sizes. We meet at a local park 5 days a week from 5:45 — 6:30am. Although I am not a morning person, I love getting up working out with our trainer, Kristin. Each day is different, so you are never bored and she does an excellent job ensuring that we are doing the exercises correctly and pushes us without being mean. It is NOT a boot camp! In addition, she educates us about nutrition and your goals and progress is kept private via email.
