This doesn’t have to do with this store in particular but the company’s exchange policy as a whole. 20 days with original receipt. I had my original receipt, all tags and liners still on the swimsuit and was in 25 days after purchase. They wouldn’t refund it or exchange it! Ok, I get no refund but no EXCHANGE? That’s some BS in my opinion and an all around poor customer service policy. I will no longer be shopping here.

To all of my fellow lady Unilocalers, is there anything worse than shopping for a swimsuit? Honestly, I really can’t think of anything. It is so depressing, frustrating, and not mention, humiliating. Alas, it is a necessary evil. Pool parties, BBQs at my parents house by the pool, BBQs at my boyfriend’s parents house by the pool, my annual summer trip to Michigan… during the summer, I spend more time in a bathing suit than I’d like to. I have a very specific body type. Very short, but also curvy is how I was built(thanks, mom). Needless to say, I always have a pretty hard time finding a swimsuit that is stylish, the right fit, and offers the perfect amount of support in the areas in which I need it most. In order to find a suit that posses all of these qualities, I will search far and wide. Recently, I ventured to West County Mall in pursuit of the perfect two piece. I tried Victoria’s Secret, and it was beyond aggravating. Everything there was cut so small. I walked out of that store feeling discouraged, when all of the sudden I remembered that small shop by Nordstrom that my mother frequents. I’m so glad that I remembered Everything But Water! The sales people were helpful, but not overly aggressive. I told her outright what I like and what I don’t like and she was not overly pushy with her suggestions about what I should try on. The prices are pretty high, but when you are buying designer swimwear, that’s to be expected. They have all shapes and sizes of suits. Two pieces, tankinis, one pieces… they’ve got it all. I ended up leaving with the perfect suit. Now I just need to lose these last 10 pounds before pool season really gets into full swing!

Ah… swimsuit shopping. For a woman, sometimes it seems that there’s no other process so humbling and torturous. Oh, but there is. Swimsuit shopping as a team sport. I am headed to the coast soon and decided that my old suit just would not do. I poke around the pathetic swim section at Nordstrom, then I spy Everything But Water. First the pros… they have a great selection and are very helpful. Very very helpful. Too helpful. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really care to parade around half-naked for a sales woman to try to give me advice on swimsuits. It was like a fashion show as everyone popped out of their dressing room with the obligatory«it’s cute, but…» Which the sales person refuted telling them that the ruffles did not make their butt look big, or that they probably won’t actually pop out of the top, or that despite their reservations, fluorescent tie dye really is their color. Umm…no. Leave me in peace in my dressing room. I’ll let you know when I’m good. And please stop bringing me animal prints. On the plus side, I will be rocking a cute new suit at the beach, but I felt like my choice of sky blue was a bit of a disappointment to the print-pushing sales woman.
