I was so nervous when my friend and I had to choose a hotel to stay at. I payed through Expedia which garnered me a rate that was even lower than the hotels rate but I accidentally chose this hotel. If you know anything about Expedia then you know this mistake was not one I could undo; you can not cancel or change orders. Thus, I was stuck with it. Let me say this; my friend and I were simply looking for a place to lay our head overnight. We are typically diva types so this wouldn’t be our normal choice or even a consideration; I say that so you can understand what my natural disposition is towards hotels. This place meets that mark for a weary traveler in need of rest. It is certainly clean enough to sleep in and I felt safe throughout the night. I was surprised that the televisions were nice and had good cable as opposed to 4 fuzzy channels. I also found it refreshing that there was a mini fridge included for our use. Was it terribly clean? No, but it was clean enough to put your bottled water in it and open it without being nervous. The staff was also friendly; I will admit though, we didn’t need to have extended interactions as our accommodations met our minimum expectations with a few nice surprises. You may want to know that this place has no breakfast and no lobby. It also had no elevator; just stairs. The rooms and hotel are very warm but the AC works in the room. That being said, it just takes a while to truly kick up– turn it on when you first get there and then go grab a bite or play in the pool; it will be very comfortable when you return. I would also suggest that you request more pillows, the bed had 3 pillows and they were flat and cheap. I did not feel comfortable showering as it didn’t look clean enough to become disrobed in the bathroom. I saw NO insects in the room(I am horrified of insects) but I did see remnants of insects when I walked the building; looked like little beetles but we’re not roaches(whew). From a real diva and her fraidy cat friend, this place is sleep approved. Beyond that, you may be asking for a lot and that message is not approved.

So first things, if you’re staying here, it’s because of the price. And for the hilariously low rate we paid, the fact that we got: a comfy king sized bed, a mini fridge, a microwave and free Wi-Fi makes this place a solid choice in my mind. If you’re looking for the royal treatment, this obviously isn’t on your radar, but if you need a comfy, convenient place to stay that’s near the subway and the airport, and a 15 minute drive away from the city, the Econo Lodge is the place to go.

The worst Econo Lodge ever… and that’s saying something because usually Econo Lodge is bottom of the barrel. Lousy customer service especially this lazy turd that just sits in a chair behind the counter. The rooms are disgusting, the bed was terrible and it is right across the street from other places like Americas Best Value Inn, Holiday Inn, etc, pay a few more bucks and get something decent.
