I had a large tree in my back yard that was extending over and essentially onto the top of my house. I called Droege Tree care and they told me they would have their«Arborist» come out to my home. They told me that they would do so on a Monday. I never heard from them on Monday and there was nothing to indicate they had come. So I gave it until Tuesday late afternoon. I called them. It took them a while to figure out if someone had been there, but then they started to tell me what they were going to do to the tree. What they recommended didn’t really make sense to me so I let them know what I had in mind(I wanted to make sure we weren’t going to do this all again next summer. I wanted to make sure it got done correctly this time). They sent someone back and to their credit, they called me this time. I was mailed a contract which I promptly mailed back to them. I waited approximately two weeks expecting that the work would get done any day now. I finally called and left a message. I was frustrated with the lack of communication, and I needed to know when the work would be done. I received a call back the next morning. The woman told me that they had either not recieved or had misplaced my contract. I again voiced my frustration and I asked if they could just do the work. She said she would see to it. Fifteen minutes later, I received a phone call from a gruff, rude woman who later identified herself as the owner when asked. She stated«I’m not doing any work without a contract». I made sure she knew that I had sent in the signed contract and I had been told it may have been misplaced. She again stated«Well I’m just telling you I’m not doing any work without a contract». I asked her why she sounded mad at me. I had done nothing wrong. In fact, I had done everything that had been asked of me. I asked if there was anything I could do to speed things up. Could she e-mail it to me and I could respond? She said yes. She began to take my e-mail address. I asked her politely to read it back to me. She had gotten it wrong. I corrected it and very politely asked her to read it back to me. She had gotten it wrong again. When we got the correct e-mail sorted out, she told me they were running 2 – 3 weeks out. I reminded her that I had sent in a signed contract a couple of weeks ago. That is when she hung up. Yes. She hung up. I called back to make sure I was not mistaken. She thanked me for the phone call but informed me that they would not be able to help me. It was at that time that I verified that I was speaking with the owner, Colleen I believe. I promptly called another tree service. They came out today and will do the work tomorrow. I will add their review tomorrow when the work is done. Very unprofessional on so many levels. This post is as accurate as possible. There have been no exaggerations or embelishments.
