The Trolley was the best $ 2.00 spent! We got to our destiniation quickly, and it was easy to use. Additionaly, our Trolley driver, Sal, was the best! He was very friendly, and pointed out landmarks along the way.

While visiting Downtown, I jumped on board the trolley, as it passed by every location I wanted to see. Trolley fare is only $ 2.00 for an all-day pass, perfect for tourists. A trolley circles its route every 10 minutes, providing speedy convenience for people visiting Gateway Arch, City Museum, Citygarden, and any of the uptown eateries. The trolley system is very simple to use. Most hotels on the route have a map of the stops. Once you’re on the trolley, there is a giant map on the ceiling. When your stop is approaching, pull on the cord located along the window. It signals the driver to stop. Pretty easy, right? Not for some, unfortunately. I had the joy of riding with several tourists who: — Thought this trolley gave scenic tours of the city — Had no idea how to read a map, or what street their hotel was located — Did not understand one-way streets — Tried yelling at the trolley driver to stop — Tried yelling at the trolley driver to tell them where they were — Got on the bus telling the trolley driver vague instructions on where to stop — Pulled on the window to stop the trolley Really, folks. The trolley is not that complicated. Tourists: if you are not familiar with public transit, read a map before boarding, ask for help, or observe other experienced passengers. I had the impression the people mentioned above were from suburbia, where they lack a bus system. More tips: — Have exact change when boarding the trolley. You pay an automated machine which does not give change for larger bills. — You enter through the driver’s door, and exit out the side door in the middle of the trolley. The driver’s door is only for boarding. — Most drivers do not call out the street names. You need to pay attention to the stops, which can be viewed best out the front window.
