Food was amazing. Always looking for good new places for lunch around the area and this was defiantly a hit. few guys in my office joined me for lunch and we decided to give Dooleys a try. Everyone was impressed with the food and the service. Very friendly people, and the burgers were delicious. I would recommend trying this place. Also they have their own parking lot, which is nice in this area.

Loved it. Never had a bad meal here. Good service — fabulous selection of beers. Get in and out before a show at the without spending a million dollars.

This was the best/worst experience I’ve ever had. It was a constant dichotomy. For example: The flavor on my steak sandwich was OUTSTANDING, but the steak was too tough to be eaten in a sandwich. The bartender was the friendliest that I’ve ever met, but my server was one of the rudest(there was only one server working the entire lunch shift) The pretzels were amazing! But the cheese came in a fairly hard undippable hunk.(Albeit a delicious undippable hunk) At the end of the meal, I found myself simultaneously loving and hating my experience here. I’m going to go back, if only to get a better gauge of what a normal experience would be.

We hit this spot after church on Easter Sunday. They were open for a short while before staff closed early.(Which we were fine with, it was Easter Sunday) Food was served hot and fast. The staff was pretty good. There were two girls at the door seating poeple… or loitering… or something. I couldn’t tell, but they were definitely not good for business. They were distracted, uninterested and looked very… unapproachable. Places need to remember, the first people you see when you come in need to be accommodating and friendly… or I am more than happy to walk right out and keep it moving to a better spot. Luckily they didn’t seat us so I didn’t have to worry about that.

Stopped into Dooley’s twice so far and I have to admit that they make a mean burger. Located just a block away from the historic Fox Theater, you will find a corner Irish themed pub serving decent pub food and beer. Service here has always been great, with friendly wait staff and a pretty quick kitchen. For both of my visits I went with The Hooligan, which is a burger topped with bacon, creamed cheddar topped with an over easy egg; all served on sesame seed bun. This is quality burger, and the creamed cheddar seems to put it over the top. I also tried the Chicken Pappy, which is a fried chicken sandwich served with a grilled pineapple, onion rings, creamed cheddar and Pappy’s bob sauce, it was pretty good. The sandwiches/burgers range in price from $ 10-$ 12, but are served without fries, which cost an extra $ 2. The Dooley fries here are good, however I wasn’t impressed at all with the Potato Wedges, as they seemed to be seasoned with a salt and vinegar which isn’t really something I care for. I wish they would have mentioned that in the menu. The atmosphere here is casual, leaning more towards a sports crowd. There are multiple TVs around the place, which are always showing some sporting event. Dooley’s would also make a great more casual option to grab a bite to eat and a beer before a show at the Fox. There is also a small parking lot located immediately b behind Dooley’s and reserved for their customers, which might help save you a headache of finding a parking spot to eat during peak showtime. Overall Dooley’s is a solid 3 ½ — 4 star option, serving up a pretty good burger.

We had the most rude waitress ever. The burgers are excellent but the place is really dim and sort of depressing.

Wow, Dooley’s. You kind of remind me of some of the divier Irish pub restaurants in Manhattan’s theater district. But those places know how to handle a rush. How long have you been there by the Fox and other theaters? When there are 10 drink order tickets lined up on the bar, does your bartender not maybe kick it up a notch so people aren’t waiting 20 minutes for a glass of wine? Here are the errors I counted: 1. Chili order rung in as soup, runner brought out soup of the day. 2. Wrong kind of wine rung in, server claims«it shows up as Riesling» but there is actually a Riesling on the menu too. If your server rings in the wrong item, should he not apologize for it rather than lying? And offer a discount or comp item? 3. There were more, but I started this review long ago(April 2014) and only just posted it now. Bad experience all around.

This is definitely not the old Dooley’s of downtown St. Louis! The server was rude, the hostess the same and not worth the trip! The food is over priced! Felt like we were in line at the slaughter house and the food was like eating old cows and bulls!

Quite simply one of the best burgers in the St. Louis area. While there are a variety of «specialty» burgers available, I always have to go for the soft, scooped cheddar cheese… it makes it! Service was great, prices were reasonable, and the food was outstanding. One note, reservations are only taken for groups of eight or more, and it can get quite crowded prior to a show at the FOX or St. Louis Symphony.

I went to this pub as part of Metroquest this year, and will most likely come back for more. My group split the Irish Fries and they were exactly what we needed. The fries were not too crispy or soggy and they were covered in amazing cheese, chives, bacon — just all sorts of goodness. Our waiter was prompt and took it upon himself to bring us both regular and chipotle ranch, which just increased the awesomeness of these fries. Would definitely get these again!

I visited Dooley’s on a Saturday afternoon with 3 girlfriends. We were participated in «MetroQuest» which is a pub crawl/scavenger hunt/trivia game put on my St. Louis NPR. We decided to stop at Dooley’s because it was one of the locations on our scavenger hunt list and we also needed a quick bite and some drinks. We order the Irish Fries for the four of us to split. They were EXACTLY what we needed at the time! They were served with a Chipotle sauce and ranch. The Chipotle sauce was delectable. :) I still get hungry thinking about it! The staff at Dooley’s was friendly and prompt. We really appreciated that since we were in the middle of a scavenger hunt. :) Dooley’s is apparently famous for their burgers… which we didn’t try. So I believe we have plans to visit again and try them out!

Had to pay a parking meter to park conveniently, due to the location, which was OK. The space is nice, and the service was friendly. My burger was good, but I’m used to a bigger amount of the soft cheddar(creamed cheddar) being on the burger, and I felt like this was a much smaller amount than not only the previous Dooley’s but also other places that serve up soft cheddar on the burgers. Another friend ordered the Philly cheese steak and absolutely loved it!

Great service — our server checked up on us just enough. Our server also turned the sound on the World Cup for us while we were there. The food was good bar food. The fries were skinny, crispy and seasoned good. I had the buffalo sandwich, which was delicious. The bf’s french dip was really nice, the garlic bread really complemented the sweet salty-ness of the french dip. The roast beef was also flavored simply and the whole sandwich was great. Our food was out to us quick. The server honored our groupon even though we showed up after the end time. On the other side, when we ordered our beers, he told us the only beers we could order were PBR or Shiner Bock even though the groupon said domestics only(and there were many other domestics on the beer list).

I concur with the sentiment that Dooley’s is only in business because of its location next to the galleries, The Fox, and The Powell. People with tickets to a show come here because it’s in a convenient spot and that’s it. What does it have to offer? Overpriced, blah food and bad service. The hostess acted like we were annoying her just by coming in. The server seemed depressed and grumbling. Beers on the menu, not on tap. Ahi tuna sandwich is tiny, burgers incorrectly cooked. I ordered mine«well» and got a pinkish burger with a little stick in it with M. Well printed on it. So, the order was put in wrong, and it was still undercooked. Plus, it was so devoid of flavor like they didn’t even season the beef. My chosen topping of wine mushrooms were like a canned condensed soup mix — undiluted. Seriously, it was that salty. Tiny half cup of fries comes with some of the sandwiches. This place is just nothing special at all. The food is bland, not well-prepared, portions are small, prices are high and the waitstaff are rude. This place is not worth it. If you have tickets to a show, you’re better off at The City Diner, or even down the block at Church’s Chicken.

I have tried to give Dooley’s a chance, but after several disappointing visits, I’ve finally reached the conclusion that Dooley’s is not capable of providing a good dining experience. I have mostly visited Dooley’s for lunch during the week. Each time, the place has been fairly empty, with just a few tables occupied. One would figure that this would be manageable for the staff. However, the service manages to be reliably slow and inattentive, no matter how big or small the crowd. My most recent meal is a prime example of this phenomenon. I was with two friends for lunch, and we were one of four occupied tables in the entire place. Our server was friendly enough, but managed to botch the order terribly and unapologetically. We placed an order for an appetizer, a couple of burgers, and some chicken. We specifically asked our server about the appetizer, which came with his recommendation. And yet, after all of that discussion, he forgot to put in the order for our appetizer. We discovered this as he was delivering our entrees, which was too late. Yet, the server was just matter-of-fact, offering no apology, and no suggestion to make the situation right. The entrees took some time to arrive. My friend commented that the chicken was good. My burger, however, was missing about half of the ingredients I had ordered, and instead of taking the dish into the back to fix it, the server just brought out a paper dish of condiments for me to assemble myself. The burger itself was extraordinarily greasy, with the bottom of the bun positively slick with oil and grease that still remained on my fingers after two handwashings. All in all, Dooley’s manages to disappoint with shoddy service. Just one word of apology, one iota of acknowlegdement for the mistakes would have been enough to save Dooley’s from a 1-star rating. But, after several bad experiences, I can assume that the difficulties I’ve encountered are not an anomaly, but rather the status quo. Not recommended.
