Bette Davis once said, «What a dump». I think she was referring to this snack shop. This shop is hidden in the bowels of the civic courts building and I do mean hidden. When we broke for lunch on my recent jury duty service, I said to one of my co-civic serving buddies that I was going to check it out and they swore it was closed. Checking Unilocal,I knew it wasn’t marked«closed». I went to the basement and over along the back wall was a scattering of high top tables and behind them was the entry to a tiny dingy room. Inside this room which was no bigger then may-be 5×5 was filled with coolers, counters and retail racks full of soda, junk food, candies and packaged sandwiches. There were two rows of people, one going in and one coming out. You totally had to go to the opposite end of the room to turn around and come back out. It was absolutely funny as hell. They get two stars for pricing which was cheap and the fact they had a talking cash register. The cash register spoke your total, then when the cashier enter how much you paid it repeated the entry and then said your change out loud. It spoke more then the actual cashier, who would have scared me if I meet him in a dark alley.
