Another one bites the dust! Yep, it’s gone. My rating for our second time there some months ago was not as good as the first time around.

We’ve been here a few times but it had been a while so we decided to revisit because we had a $ 10 off coupon from I’m not sure about other reviewers but our experience has always been very good here. My husband & I ordered Caipirinha(Brazilian drink) which was amazing. The food is really good, the meats are very juicy & flavorful and the seafood is superb. Plus live entertainment on the weekend is a bonus. The owner Rachel is very nice and is alway attentive & caring.

Been here a couple times now. One of the times I used a coupon and got essentially $ 20 off our meal. The plate I had was beans, rice, and a sword(a sword!) of meat and vegetables. I’m a fan of raw ingredients. The meal was nothing flashy, but it was cooked well and I left happy. I do not remember the service being amazing, but the staff was friendly and native(my white opinion of someone what they think a Portuguese accent sounds like) to the meals they were serving. Pushed off of the CWE an extra block, I think people overlook Coco Louco Brasil and go to the more convenient Culpepper’s or Drunken Fish. I have nothing against these places, but I would definitely recommend expanding your restaurant experiences in the CWE and giving the loco a try. Be careful, too far north on Euclid and loco becomes more of risk than a dining experience.

Let’s stop being Grouponed and patronizing this Groupon restaurant people. The food they’re serving is crap… and it shows, especially with the ever so frequent groupon offerings. No one can serve the caliber of food they claim to serve for only $ 25/person. Let’s be real here. The servings are skimpy. The«Brazilian BBQ» is mostly made up of fat, so after you finish working to separate the meat from the fat… you end up eating a few scraps of meat. They no longer serve bread and dip prior to the meal and the so called beans they serve you are stretched with water… anyone can see this. This place is a joke. The good reviews are few. Take a hint.

Came here at the recommendation of a friend who had a LivingSocial coupon. Never coming here by choice again. The lack of customers on a Friday night on Memorial Day weekend should be a hint. Between my boyfriend and I, we ordered: Passion Fruit Juice: very sweet, but still good. I wanted coconut juice originally, but they only had a few options, and this was recommended by our waiter. Caipirinha: my boyfriend drank this, and he said it wasn’t very alcoholic at all. Bobo De Camarao: shrimp and sauce were tasty, but it was definitely a cream sauce on the shrimp. I thought it would be more of a simple stir-fried kind of thing based on its menu description, but it was more alfredo-like. The portion was small, probably like 10 shrimp altogether. There was also about a half-cup of rice. There were some veggies too, I guess, but I don’t remember much about it. Espeto Misto(Churrasco): my bf got like 1 – 2 bites of each of the meats and some onions and green peppers in between. The meats were mostly dry, but the grilled vegetables were tasty. Plaintains: What we got were definitely NOT plaintains, but rather, plain sugared-and-fried bananas. I wish they had just told us they didn’t have plaintains, and then we wouldn’t have wasted $ 5 on bananas that are worth $ 0.50/lb. So, all in all, not very memorable. Somehow, the aforementioned choices cost us SEVENTYDOLLARS(including tip). Definitely NOTWORTHIT. Dishes were plain, not memorable, no taste.

Had a coupon for Coco Louco(Brasilian food) a Euclid and Washington. Food was just okay. The rice was undercooked and lacked any seasoning. How do you screw up white rice? My bacon-wrapped filet mignon medallions had nearly raw bacon around them, too. Ew. Service time was HORRENDOUS. Our waiter said he was servicing TEN tables; at most full-service restaurants, even a really good waiter has six, max! It took us 45 minutes, at least, to get our entrees. No wonder they have problems! They need to hire a couple of expediters/runners.

Food was middle of the road for me. I’ve had better and worse Brazilian. I hit up the lunch buffet soon after they open at 11 in hopes of getting the freshest delicacies. I did get the freshest, but that’s because they didn’t start putting things out til 11:30. Staff was interesting. Beef dishes should be called fat dishes. I was the only person in here, even saw 2 couples enter and turn back around.

This was our second outing to Coco Louco Brasil, so we knew what to expect, or so we thought. It was a Saturday night and we decided to go on a whim, and with a Groupon which stated that it required reservations. I called for a reservation, however when we arrived we were still left waiting while others were seated. Granted, it wasn’t for long, and it was the Saturday before Christmas. This I could have over looked if… the next thing I saw wasn’t so alarming. I started noticing the staff while we were waiting for our table.(I am a people watcher and these people were just too good not to watch.) First I was accosted by a petite woman who seemed to think she was actually working in a club on the«east side» as her jacket was so low cut her«love pillows» were nearly hanging out. And I actually saw her put her pen between her bewbs. Yeah… classy. Then there were the Elvis twins. Imagine Flock of Seagulls meets Elvis hair, that’s what these two gentlemen were sporting. That’s right, not just one but TWO. To top it off both of them were wearing jeans that were entirely two tight. I mean… just…wow. Oh yeah, and the classy pen boob chick was wearing leggings… as pants. I mean really??? So we were seated and brought glasses of water. We placed our drink orders(tea and soda) and our food orders. I had to ask for a spoon to sweeten my tea. The last time we were here they served bread and salads with the entrees. The salads were now blacked out with a marker on the menu and we never received any bread. Not sure if it was because it was so crowded or if they just aren’t doing this anymore. My dining partner and I made a bet that our food would come before our silverware. And it did. Oh and we had to ask for drink refills, twice. Although while we were waiting to be seated I over heard the hostess tell one of the waitstaff that a table in the corner had been seated for 30 minutes and hadn’t received water yet… so I guess we were on the good side of the restaurant. The table to my left held approximately 8 people. Probably a holdiay gathering of sorts. The occupants appeared to be in their 50s-60s. And they were nursing their wine and beers. At one point one of the men at the table picked up the skewers and pretended he was a pirate. As if the Elvis Twins weren’t enough entertainment! To my right was a table with a young couple and a toddler. Mr Neck Tattoo was thoroughly enjoying his food. Neck Tattoo junior had made quite the mess with rice all over the place. When Mr. and Mrs. Neck Tattoo left with tattoo Jr. the rice was actually brushed onto the floor. Yep, saw that happen. Glad my purse wasn’t on the floor or I would have left overs for the next day. We both ordered the giant swords of meat, mine was lamb and his was the mix. As for the food goes… it’s pretty good. I really liked mine. BP(my dining partner) likes his steaks well or medium well. I would say that is over done, but whatever. He was not pleased that the steak that was on his sword was bloody. I found it delicious. We finished our meals and as the restaurant cleared out we noticed that a man in a creepy pony tail was making his way throughout the restaurant. Maybe the owner, maybe the manager. Boobs McGee was close on his tails though. I swear I thought she would be getting on a pole somewhere in the place at any moment and expecting dollar bills. A big tada was made at several tables, but I have no idea why or care. We asked about desert and were told, «We have a lot of cakes.» Yeah… way to go for the up sell there buddy. We declined. Overall, I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for this experience. I won’t be returning because the service was so bad. It’s a shame really, because the food is rather good. I’m a believer is service and this place is seriously lacking. BTW I just checked my bank account… and I had left a minimal tip based on the crappy service we received. Well… they chose to add money to it. It’s is a nominal amount, but still. If they are doing this to me… what are they doing to you?

So Coco Louco also has a dance club on the side called Coco Cabana. I have been there a few times and I definitely enjoyed myself. I highly recommend Coco Cabana to anyone that likes Latin music, there is a $ 5 cover and the drinks are reasonably priced.

My friends and I all love this place! We came on a groupon and ended up with a new favorite restaurant. The food is fabulous and drinks are great too. The portion is good and the appetizers were wonderful. It can be on the high end for dinner, but drinks and apps are much more affordable. The staff is great and if you’re lucky enough to meet the owner, George, he’s wonderful and really has a passion for his restaurant. Definitely recommend!

The food is great!(if you like Brazilian & meat or fish) The service is slow– but worth the wait if you are patient and not rushing anywhere. Start out with the caipirinha — it’s a traditional Brazilian drink that is to die for. Better than a mojito or margarita(in my opinion) Anything seafood and anything red meat at this restaurant is really great. The chicken with white wine sauce was also great … per my friends rec. The best part is at the end of the night we had shots! Ginger ale with rum– yum… Try it. Go and get your Brazilian on…

The food here is ok. The service is ok. I wouldn’t go back, there are plenty of places you can get a 5 star meal for $ 16 – 22 a plate. However, if your aunt is visiting and insists on going here, a little guide is below to get you through the night… To Order: ~Get one of the Brazilian Cocktails, have them go light on the sugar and you will be in lime/rum heaven. ~Try the hot garlic sauce with the bread. ~The seasoning on the Charcisca meat is yummy. Avoid: ~The Tilapia. There are no capers as promised and you’d be lucky to taste any lemon in the congealed butter sauce. ~The Pastia appetizer. It’s very heavy and the fried flavor overpowers the filling. ~The«vegetables» the entrees come with. Some boiled cabbage with a carrot or two. NOTE: This place is shady. I called to make a reservation because you have to with a Groupon. They said they didn’t have anything at 7. They were rude but it was the third time I tried to make reservations so they finally said to come at 8. We ended up arriving at 7 to get drinks and the place was almost completely empty. I think they are trying to get Groupon folks to not use them.

My wife and I went to Coco Louco last night and used a groupon that was close to expiration. My wife made a reservation for 8pm and we arrived about an hour early so we sat at the bar to enjoy a couple drinks and chat. I have to say the bar area was VERY warm. Feeling sweat trickle down your back is not a fun«date» night experience, however, the bar tender was adequate and the Pinot Nior was great. We were sitting close to the door when we realized that walk-ins were being seated before us and we both thought that was incredibly rude. After we were seated we both found the dining room temperature much more comfortable and the waiter came right up and got our drink order. My wife tried to order the Filet Don Pedro and was told it was unavailable so we both ordered the Espeto Misto. The food only took about 20 minutes to come out and was well presented. While the food was«ok» I would have never paid $ 21 for this entrée. Overall an ‘ok’ experience but I found it to be very over-priced for what you get.

Randomly decided to try this place this past weekend with a girlfriend. The only reason we tried it was because there was parking in front of it. I know, sad reason, but parking in Central West End gets hectic and annoying. Anyway, I wish I would’ve read some reviews on this place before I got there because it was not the best experience. Luckily, my friend and I had lots of conversation to catch up on because we waited forever. We waited for everything except for when we walked in, the hostess took us to a table immediately. The place was about ¼ full. We waited about 10 – 15 minutes and we weren’t greeted by our server. The hostess came back over and asked us if we had been helped yet and then brought us some waters. Finally our server came over and greeted us and got our drink orders. He was very pleasant and nice. I ordered espanola which is red wine mixed with sweetened condensed milk. It was pretty yummy, it’s served over ice. The drink came pretty quickly, and so then the server took our orders. My friend ordered a basic chicken salad and I ordered the Peixada which was cod cooked with coconut milk and palm oil. After our orders were taken, after about 10 minutes we were given some bread. Then about 45 minutes from getting bread, our food finally arrived. My food was hot but the fish was lacking in flavor for me. The side of vegetables which was cabbage and collard greens was pretty gross. The cod was cooked well texture-wise but overall not worth the $ 19 I spent on it. My friend said her salad was just okay. My friend was low on water, and it wasn’t refilled for a long time. I feel bad for the server because I feel like they were understaffed. I know how difficult it can be to have to serve too many tables so I’m not going to blame him. He was still very nice to us. So I guess I would say that I probably won’t go back. The décor of the place is really pretty, I loved the big windows and the atmosphere. The service was slow, I think mainly due to being understaffed, and the food just took way too long and was bland.

I have eaten here, and never felt the need to say anything, positive or negative, about the place. That is, until i heard what they did to my sister and her husband. They went there last Thursday for his birthday, and got the groupon. They have kids and never get to go out, and being his birthday, it was a big deal. So they get to the restaurant, and are asked if they have reservations. They didn’t, and the restaurant had all of 5 tables full, since it was still pretty early, like 5PM. They were asked if they had a groupon, and they said yes. They were told they had to have reservations for groupons, which isn’t stated anywhere on the groupon, website, or elsewhere. So, they asked if they could reserve a table now then– the hostess got the manager, there was yelling between hostess and manager with«I hate these stupid groupon people,» thrown in there. When the hostess came back, they were told they couldnt get a reservation until 9PM, even with the empty restaurant. Needless to say, with two children under 2, a 4 hour wait wasn’t happening. They left and found another place, and hopefully can get some sort of return on their groupon. No way to be treated anytime, but especially to two nice people who just want a quick, quiet meal away from home to celebrate a birthday and try something new. Not really sure why this place used GROUPON– certainly not to get people in the door. Please do not support businesses that treat people this way– I worked in the restaurant business for 8 years, and tend to take the side of servers and restaurant personnel, but this was just apalling to me. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere(The Tortillaria is down the street!!)

I simply can’t help it. I had to write a glorifying review of this place. IT’S SOOOO F-ING DELISH! Yes, it’s that damn good! I had Brazilian food before at another place, but the food was simply tooo rich for me. This place hit the spot for me. My bf & I both got a Churrascaria(sp?) AKABBQ. The food came out on kebabs that looked like swords. The strawberry juice tasted too much artificial to me. I was a bit disappointed in the calamari. The calamari pieces were simply too tiny. But the Thousand Island dressing for dipping was awesome! No terribly long waiting time for the food. The waitress was helpful & nice. Note, this place is expensive. So, unless you have a Groupon or something similar, expect to pay more than $ 20 per person. Loved the ambience.

For the record, Coco Louco Brasil really rates a 3 ½ stars. Not a 3 but not quite 4 stars. Here are the reasons… I visited the restaurant for a birthday party. A party of about 30 people. I know what your thinking. Big party so give the server some slack. Well, I think restaurants need to master servicing big parties and not be given the benefit of mediocre service because the table has over 2 diners. Don’t book big parties if you can’t handle them! That’s like saying cut a restaurant some slack because of a lunch rush or dinner rush. Aren’t they supposed to be busy at those times and master the art of customer service anyway? Next issue was guests getting the wrong food! And my appetizer taking forever to materialize and being wrong when I got it. I ordered the pastels, one chicken, one cheese. When it arrived both were cheese. I was so hungry and both cost the same that I ate it anwyays. No complaints on the food. It was very delicious and I am pretty sure I would have liked the chicken pastel if I had been able to taste it. I enjoyed a nice glass of Argentinian chardonnay with my late apps. Yum. I also sampled a friend’s red snapper special. Beware that this special is a regular in the rotation and it comes prepared with the full on head attached as well. Didn’t bother me but I can see how that might be unsettling. I wasn’t so traumatized by the experience that I wouldn’t give Coco Louco another chance. Next time I will go with one other person, not a big party, and perhaps do the $ 7 lunch buffet. If they can’t get it right at lunch then I will most certainly give up.

$ 7 lunch buffet. BACK.THE.TRUCK.UP. Take advantage of this buffet deal Wednesday through Saturday from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. I found Coco Louco Brasil driving around unknown neighborhoods looking for lunch. I don’t have a smart phone so alas no Unilocal application. My partner and I were greeted by a friendly waiter who promptly seated us and took our drink order. He motioned for us to help ourselves to the buffet. WOW! This isn’t an ordinary cheap ingredient-filled buffet. Cheese from Holland, fresh greens, vegetables, rice dished, beans and no skimping on the proteins. FIsh, chicken, lamb, beef and pork served many ways. White tablecloth restaurant with a $ 7 buffet that feels like I owe them more money. Score!

Very tasty Brazilian cuisine in a great space and friendly people, but the service wasn’t very good. The server approached our table from the far end of our table and when delivering salads and hot entrees, she handed them to us instead of placing them on the table in front of us. Ouch, hot plate. Then we had to ask for napkins and with a promise of drink refills, we never saw our server again after the entrees were delivered — no drink refills, not to ask if everything was ok — not until I found her to ask for boxes. It was around 5:30pm on a Tuesday night, and there were only 2 tables — my table of 2 and another group of 4. The table of 4 had their own server, and we had our own. So I may have understood if it was busy or they were understaffed, but it didn’t seem that way. And of the 3 stalls in the bathroom, only 1 of them had any toilet paper in it, and there was hardly any on the roll. Very strange. That being said, they did appear to have an interesting drink menu that looked good to try, and my entrée of a whole red snapper in salsa with rice and vegetables was very tasty.

There aren’t too many«ethnic» places in St. Louis, so Coco Louco Brasil definitely stands out as a place to go for something other than American fare. I’ve had Brazilian bbq several times in Chicago, and this place is not quite at that level, but it was certainly a satisfying meal. I got the Espeto Misto Churrasco in order to try all the meats and it was such a good deal. In addition to a giant skewer of everything, you get salad, red rice, beans, yucca flour and collard greens. They just don’t give deals like that in the big cities. The meat was fantastic – tender, juicy, grilled to perfection. My favorite was the Picanha and chicken wrapped in bacon. My friend’s paealla was quite delicious too, as were the plump, juicy shrimps of the Bobó de Camarão. Service was attentive with a quirky, slightly sardonic waiter and the restaurant has cute little touches like a piano covered in small acoustic guitars.
