Best chocolate I have ever had. I had merlot and chardonnay caramels as well as raspberry and butter cream milk chocolates. Absolutely phenomenal. Wonderful customer service. Very friendly and funny.

4⁄5 stars because the experience is downgraded by the absence of a lounge area. Yes, Frontenac has a few bistro tables and sofas scattered throughout the plaza however; there’s nothing like snagging a comfy seat with a beautiful view while nibbling on a dark chocolate Merlot truffle(my personal fav) and sipping on a hot cup of Joe. The ladies are all so very pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. Bissinger’s…can’t beat’em with a bat, ~Christy

Very good chocolate, but boy are they screwed up when it comes to taking orders!!! I ordered Easter baskets for my nieces and nephews, three to California and two to Connecticut. Only two were delivered to California. Explain to three preschoolers why only two of them received a basket. The other two baskets were only delivered after an exchange of e-mails between Bissinger’s and me.(The e-mail I received from them was so riddled with bad grammar, bad syntax, and bad spelling as to be almost indecipherable.) The package sent to my home for my husband was not delivered until a week after the promised delivery date. Then today we received another package from them that was a near duplication of the one delivered last week. It had an enclosure card addressed to someone who apparently ordered salted caramel, an item that was not on any of the orders I placed. In all fairness they did get the third basket to California, and all five little ones were delighted.

IT’S CHOCOLATE!!! It’s a chocoholics delight; the chocoholic in your life will be in heaven with all of the sections and types of candy that they offer there. This shop in Plaza Frontenac is my favorite place to go for Bissinger’s chocolate. The old store in the CWE closed, and they moved to Maryland Plaza, so now, Plaza Frontenac is my favorite. It’s small and well stocked so you can get just about whatever you want that they offer including one pound boxes of chocolate. They have specialty chocolate candy in the case and can buy it by the pound. They have candy bars which are specific to Bissinger’s. I have never bought anything that I didn’t like from them. Every time that I have been there, they have always been helpful and friendly. We always have time to talk and find out what’s new with each other. I have never been disappointed with Bissinger’s as a store or any of their chocolate that I have bought.

Really nice, good selection of chocolates. They are expensive so I usually just get two and a cappuccino(which is very good also). It is a pretty comfortable atmosphere, I like to meet up with friends here and talk. Sometimes they have the side room reserved though for a party and that can really cut down on the amount of space. It is a busy place so there are a lot of people coming in and out so if you sit by the door it could be chillier than desired.

Yes, I have had better. Belgian chocolates(Leonidas) are much, much better.

Oh my goodness, Bissinger’s is the best chocolatier in St. Louis, hands down! Maybe it’s because it’s only available in St. Louis(hometown pride!), maybe it’s because they often have free samples and the people working behind the counter are so friendly, or maybe it’s because Bissinger’s really does make superior quality chocolates. Even though I don’t live in St. Louis anymore, whenever I get a care package from home for Halloween, Easter, etc — my mom always manages to slip a few choice chocolate goodies from Bissinger’s in there. Everything there really is far and away the best I’ve had(and I’ve had plenty — I think almost every child to grow up in the Western hemisphere has). A good reason could be because everything’s made fresh in their main location in the Central West End and delivered regularly to its other stores. Bissinger’s specializes not just in solid, hand made chocolates, but in chocolate dipped fruit, bars, petit fours, gummies, caramels, lollipops, barks, and even a line of «spa» and organic chocolates. When one of my aunts had cancer and was going through chemo in Pennsylvania, we sent her a box of 7 beautifully presented«spa» chocolates to help ease the treatment pain. My favorites from Bissinger’s have to be their French truffles(any flavor really, can’t go wrong there), any of the cremes, and probably the chocolate covered fruits — not much can beat it. My mom’s a huge fan of caramels, so when Christmas or her birthday rolls around, Dad always gets a reminder to pick some up for her to. Such a unique and great tradition in St. Louis, and I love impressing out of towners with them or sending them to other St. Louisans transplanted to far flung places like myself. Everyone recognizes the specialness of a box instantly.

Love, love, love this boutique! Chocolate covered blueberries are pure bliss! In July please go in and get the fresh chocolate covered raspberries-this is the only month they are served and they are well worth it. Huge juicy raspberries, kept chilled in the fridge, explode in your mouth with yummy sweetness. I can’t wait until next July =P

A lovely little boutique chocolate shop in the midst of all the elegance of Plaza Frontenac. Bissinger’s is a staple here, and I come solely for the chocolate covered raspberries, which are only available the month of July! They’re ammaaaazzzzing! I’ve tried some of their other stuff, and it’s all very delish, but I’m a loyal girl, what can I say? Find what you like and stick with it. You can’t go wrong.

Best chocolates in St. Louis, by far! Excellent seasonal chocolate covered fruits(the raspberries and blackberries are heavenly). They also make amazing chocolate covered orange peels, molasses lollipops(my sister adores them) and assorted colored mints with sprinkles. My best friend worked here during college and kept me in my weekly supply of all things chocolate… if only she was still there, I’d be one happy girl!
