My family and I came here on Friday night, but left since there didn’t seem to be a whole lot going on for such a steep price of $ 12 per person. We came back Saturday afternoon and were entertained with the games and food and music. I was, however, a bit disappointed, again for the value of the price. This was a pretty small festival, which seemed that most attending were participants or their families. This would have been much more appealing if it had more going on and especially if it had lasted longer than 5PM! What a perfect opportunity, with tasty beer, good outdoor fun, and music for an all day event. Even the opportunity to offer more authentic beer from the UK. I love Schlafly’s, but this is like going to an Irish festival and not being served Guinness. I hate to be cliché, but if you go to any European festival, you expect to have a taste of their food and beer. The food was good and pretty authentic, with the usual seasoned meat pie varieties. I would definitely come back, but I’d like to see more going on. I love to see people’s cultural and heritage pride.

The St. Louis Scottish Games and Culture Festival is a most awesome experience. Going to the games will make anyone feel just a little bit Scottish and every now and then feel as though you should do your best Sean Connery impersonation, which for some reason always seems to be what Abraham Lincoln sounds like. Impersonations aside, the Scottish Games and Culture Festival is pretty sweet. I enjoy going and seeing the classic games played out here in Forest Park. Also during the games I enjoy making my way over to the British Car show where I get to look at the cool old classic roadsters, only wishing that I could have an Austin Healey to bump around in.
