Alexian Brothers Sherbrooke Village

My mother is at Sherbrooke. I have never met a more rude staff anywhere in my Life! I have worked in the service industry for 35 years. The staff at sbv is beyond help. At the nurses station on Chelsea hall if you approach them the staff usually won’t even acknowledge your presence. Tonight I asked for the charge nurse and was pointed in the direction of her presence. As I called out to Sheri (charge nurse) and approached her in the med room, I was told by a another nurse sitting in a chair doing nothing «HEY you can’t go back there «I’m 15 feet past the area when she said that. How about can I help you??? I’m paying 8,000 a month for this rude treatment. She told me I’m in patient confidential area. All the while a patient is there in her wheel chair just sitting. All I want to ask them is what do they think of a problem my mom is having? Really do you think I’m encroaching on another patient!!! I can’t even keep all of my moms stuff straight. Just use some manners we are all care givers in desperate need of help. TRY to show some compassion and basic manners !

If star minus were possible this place rates it. I entered early one afternoon and signed myself out the following morning. The staff was rude and unavailable. The nurse was sarcastic when I refused to allow her to change a dressing without washing her hands and gloving! She started to do that when I stopped her. I was not served a tray, not told that I had to go the the dining room which was a very long way from my room, and I had just received a knee replacement. When I discharged myself the Nursing Supervisor asked why and I told her. She said, that shoud never happen and really that must have been a first. I told her a first for me ws a last. my son picked me up, I had PT at home. In addition to the poor staff, the place is dark and unkempt looking.

Don’t ever let a loved one go here! The staff has no compassion, no communication skills and they flat out just don’t care. They are not monitoring my loved ones oxygen levels, dietary needs, vitals or hygiene needs. When asked for simple things like water or asprin the staff laughs as they walk out the door because they know they won’t come back. This place is a neglect lawsuit waiting to happen. And it isn’t because they are understaffed. Several people hanging out chatting as if they have nothing to do. What’s the point of a new $ 13.5 million facility to take care of your loved ones if you’re afraid to leave them there alone because no one is caring for them? Complain and they don’t solve anything, they just tell you who they blame. I bet prison medical care if better than this place! DO NOT send anyone you love to this facility.
