We are an atheist family passing through St. George, knowing how important LDS is here in Utah while knowing very little about it. I decided we should stop and visit the Temple and its Visitors Center. I’m so glad we did! The young women doing their service there were as lovely, as kind, as helpful, and as non-judgmental as could be, even when we asked some potentially inflammatory (but sincerely intentioned) questions. We learned so much from them, and their brief history and insight made our visit meaningful and special. The Temple itself is a beautiful building, and we were fortunate enough to see many wedding parties leaving it, having their photos taken on the grounds. I’m so glad we went, saw it, and met those lovely girls.

I highly recommend driving by and walking around the St. George Utah Temple of the LDS Church. You will not be disappointed. It’s incredible.
There is plenty of street parking.

The St. George Utah temple of the LDS Church (Mormons) is really beautiful. It is the first temple I have visited inside and out and will always be a special place to me.
This temple was built in 1871 and was the first completed temple for the LDS Church. It’s also one of the few that don’t have a statue of Moroni on the top.
There is a visitors’ center at the corner of the property. I highly recommend going there to visit whether you’re Mormon or not.
When the small parking lot is full, there’s plenty of free street parking and you can also park at the church across the street.
