Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists at Zion Eye Institute

I had an appointment for 10:00 AM. I had back surgery not long ago and can only sit for a limited amount of time. I informed the receptionist of this when I arrived a few minutes ahead of time. I waited until 10:35 and informed the receptionist that I couldn’t wait any longer and rescheduled for different day. If that appointment ends up the same way I’ll have to find a different ophthalmologist.
My wife had an appointment there a few weeks ago and had the same experience. They must be deliberately overbooking to assure that the doctors don’t experience any «holes» in their schedules. While that might be nice for them it makes it very inconvenient for numerous patients.
Doctors who deliberately overbook should pay their patients for their wait time. Yeah, I realize that’s not going to happen !!!

I went in for cataract surgery just before the surgery the doctors assistant decided to change the strength of the lens being inserted during the surgery. I realized that the lens was not sufficient to correct the vision. When I complained I was told by Dr. Ahee that it was a problem that could be corrected with laser surgery (at my own cost because the surgery was already paid for by my insurance and they wouldn’t pay a second time). I feel that had the assistant not changed the lens it would have been correct and I wouldn’t need laser surgery or a contact lens on top of the lens inserted during surgery. I have since met with another eye specialist who said that what was done was not correct and they already knew what strength of lens I was wearing and that the assistant did not have the authority or the credentials to change the prescription that the doctor had prescribed. I now have to live with their error without repercussions for them because they have a clause in the consent for that says we don’t guarantee the work. Well who does guarantee the work done, especially to your eyes? Turns out the doctor who did the surgery is not even a doctor listed on their site. Something is very unusual here. I’d get a second opinion from some other team of doctors before I agreed to any surgery with this group. Its like a factory assembly line, money, money, money for surgeries done bing, bang, boom!
