Great service. Good homey feel. The homemade pancakes are amazing! The coffee is surprisingly very good and strong. Good atmosphere and good food. Also they have a huge variety of fresh pies! Wednesdays you get a free poe slice.

6:30 should be dinner rush sat quick order taken prompt good! Bang for buck super let down cup of soup $ 3.00 literally 5 spoon fulls, french dip & a skillet insane small portions bill $ 35 dollars & free pie night again portions really small after the promotion and let down of seeing the pie case walking in only to be told when ordering you can only have a select few. There’s a reason people go to Dennys

The food in this restaurant is mediocre at best. Service is slow and the hostess is very rude, won’t be back there

Holy Pie Batman! They offer a free slice of pie with every purchase of an entrée on Wednesdays. The breakfast here is really good without a huge price. The crowd is a bit older, it kind of reminded me of a Perkins. Lol. The server was very nice and brought the food in a timely manner. Overall the food was good, we left full and happy. My husband pointed out that there was a table that had not been cleaned up across from us and remained that way the whole time we were there. It really didn’t bug me too much, but there really wasn’t an excuse because it did not seem busy at that time. Other than that, it seemed clean, including the bathroom. Unfortunately I did not try the pie but I have heard from friends that it is really good. I will update when I get my slice of key lime!

Inconsistent food. First time we went about a month ago the breakfast was great. The French toast was out of this world. Thick and crispy and tasty w powdered sugar. Real buttermilk pancakes were great. Service was good as well. Went back today and the French toast was inedible. It was like plain bread fried in oil. We couldn’t even eat it. No cinnamon-no sugar-no taste. Literally a fried piece of toast. The pancakes were also drastically different. I may try the breakfast one more time. Also bought a pie. The fruit inside was totally puréed not chunks of fruit. Don’t bother. Pies from Publix are better.

Solid choice for breakfast. The staff is friendly, the environment is inviting, and the food is great. The coffee is really good too. It is a great place to just sit down and have breakfast with the family.

Been coming here off and on since 2004. When my wife goes visiting up North, this is where I go for good home cooking.

Food was what you would expect from a breakfast chain. Service was not good but that seemed to be because they were being given too many tables. Don’t come here unless you have at least an hour to kill. We were day almost immediately but good took over 45 minutes. We left 90 minutes after walking in the door.

Generally speaking, a nice hearty breakfast and some good coffee, without a wait or a line, is pretty much always a good thing to me. Out here in Beaverton, there is the one spot that always has a line and we avoid that as much as possible. Good food yes but when I want to eat I’m usually hungry now and don’t want to wait. And so, we stopped into the Village Inn yesterday. Our service was excellent, very prompt and accommodating. We were both in the mood for chicken fried steak, so we each ordered that for breakfast — me with scrambled eggs and toast, him with over-easy eggs and pancakes. I have to confess, I don’t really like eggs very much. I see them as kind of a necessary breakfast evil, good protein that justifies me eating things like hash browns and gravy. BUT, these were delicious — they’ve got to be cooked in pure butter. So good! And probably didn’t cancel out my hash browns. Oh well. The hash browns were a little overdone, too much crispies and not enough soft potato. But ok. Good chicken fried steak, nice and tender. I didn’t really care for the gravy though. I’m sure it was canned, and tasted like it – a little metallic or something. Just not quite right. But everything else was really good, including a bite of my fiancé’s side of bacon and one of his pancakes(we traded toast/pancake so we each had a little of both.) I’d go there again. I would try something else on the menu, but would have no reservations going to Village Inn for breakfast in the future.

It’s now mediocre at best but I love the grown up grilled cheese. It appears as if the kitchen no longer takes pride in the meals they produce. When I first started coming here about a year ago, they were awesome and better than these chain Diners. For the past month or so I’ve seen a change in the quality of food being made and I hope the standards, are increased and they become more passionate about the food they make. Their version of seasoned fries is a side cup of salt and pepper to sprinkle on the fries. Really? Are you serious? What a joke. I hope they get their act together soon.

Our first time here. A lot like Dennys only better. Friendly service although not fast, was good and attentive. The portions were very big and you can pretty much build your own huge breakfast for under $ 9.Kids eat free on Mondays and I will be back for free pie on Wednesdays.

Been going to Village Inn for several years, only with family which started with my grandparents. Never been a big fan. Now, if you are fan of the Denny’s/IHOP/Perkins type of restaurant, Village Inn is that. In my experience I have found it to be nothing special(though my family does which is why it got 2 stars). I am also not a bit of a pretentious dessert/pastries person, so based on the level of main course, have never bothered to try the pie(and apparently Thomas B only read the last paragraph of Bret’s review). But I am told it is good, though that is also being told that what is served is good, which makes those judgement about the pie suspect regarding quality. With that said, the staff at Village Inn are nice, and on the most recent visit they greeted my family by name. They also don’t try and do what they are not, and don’t seem to try and give their food any flair/added specialness such we see with their competition. I make no recommendations either way, just that it is down market to my usual fair, and not as brilliant as some reviews below suggest. But if you want a homely, comfy-style food and atmosphere, this is a place to go.

Remarkable restaurant. Creative menu to suit any American taste buds. Free pie on Wednesdays. I had the banana strawberry cream French toast and Janice had turkey cranberry on pitta bread. Wonderful. Restrooms spotlessly clean. Service excellent.

Village Inn Makes the best PIES around. I got a kick out of Bret’s review. He says they promote their«baked goods,» but that’s not even true. They promote their PIES. It is no surprise that when Brett ordered a slice of cake he was disappointed, because Village Inn is famous for its PIES. It’s no different than if he went to steak house and ordered a chunky burrito, only to wonder why the Mexican food isn’t too hot in there. Go figure. If you want a great piece of cake, by all means go to Publix bakery. But if you happen to be at Village Inn, be sure to order the PIE. It’s to die for!

I struggled with giving the second star but my wife enjoyed her meal. We have eaten at the Village Inn over the years. My first clue that something had changed should have been that there was not a lot of people here. In the past there were times that we had to wait just to get a seat. I cannot understand with only about 30 people in the restaurant why they even used the table that was just in front of the prep station for the servers. But that is where we were seated. We had my grandma along with us and she doesn’t move very well so I didn’t ask to be moved. I did not enjoy hearing the kitchen chatter and watching the wait staff prepping dishes to come out. My meal was mediocre at best. I specifically asked if the cranberry sauce had whole berries or was just jellied. The server specifically told me it was whole berry. I just don’t like jellied cranberry sauce. You guessed it; I got jellied cranberry sauce. This is a small thing that added to a marginal meal. The biscuit was dry. It seemed as if it may have been baked earlier that day and left under a warming lamp long enough to be dried out. The liver and onions were very good as was the side order of onion rings(served piping hot — good stuff). They lost me at dessert. The Village Inn heavily promotes their baked goods. I ordered my favorite, carrot cake. This carrot cake was horrible. It was dry and hard. I hadn’t been to The Village Inn in some time. I will not be returning.

We have been here several times and always enjoy our food! Healthy, large portions! The turkey avacodo sandwich is delicious as is the pie! Tonight I tried the Grownup Grilled Cheese and onion rings! Very yummy! Our server, and host were very personable!

Typical breakfast fair that’s kinda comparable to Denny’s. It was fast, well priced, had a clean bathroom & service was ok. Gave it 3 stars because my meal(Garden Benedict on potato pancakes) became mush but my families breakfast seemed pretty good.

FIrst visit ever to this restaurant. Yum! Very good breakfast with hash browns cooked golden brown. Everything was served hot as it should. Tried the strawberry crêpe — nice. Our waitress, Piper provided excellent service. I will definitely go back when I am in the area.
