I love this place! I stopped to get coffee and they have a drink called The Dalmatian and Oh my goodness is it amazing! I’m taking my husband there today to try their custard. The coffee is nice and hot and reasonably priced. I think it was like $ 3.25 for a medium drink which was a 16oz. Not bad price for a specialty drink. The guy that was working the drive thru was really friendly and even thanked me for stopping by. It was a great experience. I’ll make sure to review it again after we have the custard.

Winter is coming… But until it warms up again, memories of Wally’s custard will just have to do. This shop, built around what appears to be a collection of fire trucks used to support the shop’s sponsored youth teams and sell market their services, has the best custard in Detroit that I’m aware of. In fact, it may rank up there with the best custard I’ve had period. Bonus for being near Sahara Middle Eastern food on Harper. What a great combination when you are in Detroit.

The custard ice cream was so soft and yummy! We got different flavors for all the kids and they loved it. Great variety.

Wally’s Custard was great. We usually go to Erma’s which is near our house, but decided to stop at Wally’s when visiting in the area. One thing I have to say is that I liked the fact that their custard was solid, and not soft and runny, where you’re forced to eat it fast before it melts. The day we went the special was pistachio. Got a waffle cone size. We’ll definitely be back when in the area.

The custard here was absolutely delicious! I had the chocolate and my friend had the vanilla. the coffee also wonderful. I also enjoyed the coffee and I have to say that the prices are very good. I could used a little extra swirl on my cone because I ate it so fast!

Huge Sundaes!!! You certainly get your $ 5.75 worth. Definitely worth sharing… Or if you like to overeat, go for it and take it on yourself. As for the custard, it was very good. We have recently been on a custard kick and it is Just so much more flavorful than ice cream… Wally’s is very good. We will be back.

Delicious custard. The baby size cone was perfect for our young kids. The sundaes were very big and only just over $ 5. Sundaes definitely shareable! We will be back!

Strictly rating the custard, this place is amazing. However I was over charged once and getting a refund was a nightmare. In the end it all worked out and the owner was very helpful. This place is a must try.

Best Boston Coolers and strawberry shakes ever! Their frozen custard is very good as well. There is always a line when I go and they support the community.

Pretty good custard. The original custard taste like whipped cream. If ur into that stuff… Pretty delicious! They have flavor of the day/week usually. But not a huge variety of preselections like Ermas. But still good!

The custard is the boss. It is amazing as one would expect and definitely worth the price of admission. A regular cone at Dairy Queen costs more and you don’t even get custard! They have a plethora of options too, from cones to sundaes to coffees and slushies. They have some specialty items as well. Reasonably priced and great employees — one employee even gave my dog a treat while we were on a walk. This place is legit.

This is a great place for for custard. They have the best creamy custard in Michigan. I grew up near wally’s and will make a special trip for this tasty treat. You can really tell that the owners take pride in their business.

If you are looking to get a good cup of coffee, a little bite to eat, and a smile… This is your place. I grew up down the street from where Wally’s is now. I have seen the area grow and diversify, but a good local coffee shop with personality never became part of the mix. But now I have been able to make Wally’s a part of my life when I am in town. They offer a good mix of flavors and can even concoct to your palate. But I am an adult. If I was a child I would have a whole new set of reasons to go there. Firehouse! Fire trucks! What kid would not enjoy getting some ice crème/custard and getting to see/touch/feel a actual Wally’s actual working fire truck. This is by far the most original place to satisfy an appetite or a sweet tooth I have had the pleasure of visiting. And you should too! And just to comment against the negative comment on here… Saint Clair Shores is a tight nit community for sure, which is why I know the owners of Wally’s… As I am sure many of us have had the pleasure. Actually… If you go there… there is a large chance that they will be the ones pouring your coffee. It does not take a lot to see that they put their heart, soul and creativity into their business. They are doing their best to grow and do something that adds flavor to the community. If you can complain about that… I can’t help you there.

the best curstard I’ve ever had! Love this place. Every time I come back home from work, I always think of going there as I pass by. It is so hard to avoid it though. Curstard is so soft and creamy. Very delicious. They have different flavor of custard and weekly special, too. They open usually till 9pm and it is again so tempting to have their curstard after dinner.

Wally’s You have a huge building. So big that it holds 2 full size firetrucks. So big that you are annexing homes in the area so that you can have parking for your customers. But, by Satan’s mustache, you won’t ever let them inside. We’re forced to stand outside on a cool Autumn’s Eve and admire your firetrucks from outside. And the firetrucks… don’t get me started. Stop blaring that damn horn every single opportunity you get. The people who live in the area are tired of you announcing your next delivery of overpriced, liquidy, barely frozen butterfat and egg yolk every time you open the doors. I’m willing to get past all of that nonsense. But the next thing you did disgusts me. You come on Unilocal and review your own business and give it 5 stars. You weren’t even trying to hide it as your name is on your website, and your logo is your profile picture. You’ve never even participated in the community that we hold so close to our hearts. You make a personal gain out of our hobby, and that is not cool. Did you think you could beat the system? Did you think we wouldn’t figure you out? How many other people here are posting at your request? You may be able to doop the people of SCS with your shifty moves, but not me. Not me. I’m all for local business and the whole local support thing, but just not this place.

I’m going to be honest… I have no idea what frozen custard is. Whatever it is, it is yummy! The frozen custard was super soft and creamy. Full of flavor. The waffle cone was a little underwhelming. Other than that, everything was fantastic! The fire house exterior is really cute. I love that there is a drive thru.

This place is yummalicious. Yes, I made up a new word to describe my love for their frozen custard. It’s that good. I really enjoy the vanilla soft serve with black raspberry topping. My husband likes the hot fudge sunday with sanders hot fudge. Little guy loves the baby cup with sprinkles. They have one for doggies too. I actually love that they have a drive through. Yes, I am lazy. Also, I am a mom. You don’t want to get little ones out of the car and stand at a window. You just don’t. So thanks for that Wally. Who ever you are. If you don’t want to do a drive though(why?) there is a window to order from and a place to sit and watch people go through the drive through window. I plan on going back soon for that expresso drink with mint and chocolate. That seems like it could be awesome.

We have passed by this place numerous times and finally decided to give it a try. I kept it simple by ordering a Boston Cooler as did my wife who ordered a Twist in a cup. I love the creaminess of Custard and theirs was pretty close to some of the best I have had and their prices are pretty fair as well. Service was a little slow as it looked like only one person was there trying to work the front register, drive-thru and make the orders, but she was chugging along and doing her best so I can’t really fault her for that.

I don’t really get to the east side much so I had never visited the old location but I had heard such good things that when I drove by this new spot I had to pull over and get a cone. The building is HUGE but there is no walk in area. It’s a walk up window and a drive thru. I found this a little odd considering the building is so large and they could have easily had some indoor seating. Ah well! The building is designed to look like an firehouse and they have a neat little display with a big fire truck and such behind the massive glass door. Fancy, but again, could be used for indoor seating. Walk up is easy and there is a massive menu posted on the wall. Lots to choose from – the standard vanilla and chocolate soft serve custard plus a flavor of the week. This week was a peach which sounded fantastic but I ended up going with just a plain vanilla cone with sprinkles. What can I say, I’m a purist! Plus I just wanted to try the custard on its own without the frills for the first time. The sprinkles are festive, yellow and green, the Wally’s colors it seems. The custard was creamy and rich, although REALLY soft and a litte melty even though it wasn’t quite that hot outside. Back to the menu – sundaes, shakes, fro-yo, slushees and even housemade ice cream bars. A little something no matter what you’re craving. They also have a nice selection of coffee beverages as well. In a hurry or don’t feel like getting out of the car? They’ve also got a drive-thru. No need to leave the comfort of your airconditioning on a hot day!
